Mark passed after doing what he loved, playing heavy metal. R.I.P. Mark Shelton You will be remembered. He's one of the guys who made me pick up a guitar.
It's simply amazing how Brian sounds EXACTLY like the younger Mark Shelton. And to think that initially he was just the band's roadie who, as it turned out later, just so happened to be able to sing like the band's singer. In occurences like this, I don't believe in coincidence. This is fate! :D

Manilla Road was by far my favorite local band when I was eighteen or nineteen years old. I'm 60 now!!! Guess I had an eye for talent. Wish I could have seen more of them over the years but I saw them a lot when they were first starting out. I remember getting their first album the day it came out. My favorite song was always "far side of the sun."
@@jaredlesperance6874 That's a great sentence up there, now that i think of it. Witnessing MR's chrysalis is just like being on the right far side of the Sun. This is ...uh...Wow!
@@jaredlesperance6874 Agree, but it's criminal to ignore the '' hippie '' days of the ''Underground'' ep, the ''Live after midnight'' ep and, obviously the first 3 chronological albums (Crystal Logic not included), that is from Invasion, through ''Metal'' to ''Dreams of Eschaton/Mark of the beast'' (basically the same album with different production and sleeves).
Muchas gracias por subirlo. Soy fan acérrimo de esta banda. Y encima con Randy en los tambores. Brian suena como una versión joven de Mark. Larga vida al Metal, a Mark Shelton y que los dioses bendigan a esta banda.
I really wish Mark or someone close to him had encouraged him to take better care of himself. RIP to a legend. I still can't believe he's gone after almost 3 years.
He died of a heat stroke that lead to a heart attack which happened at a show in Germany I believe. I don't think much could've been done to prevent it other than just not doing the show, he was an old man. The rest of the band said even they were struggling that night.
Mark didn't care about his health and at the same time too much touring. He wasn't too old. He could play easily 10 years more. I think he knew he was going to die sooner or later , thats why he kept writing more and more music the last years. May his sensitive soul is rest in peace
Thanks so much for uploading this. Never got to see them live and they never put out a concert dvd or anything so this is as close as we'll get to that. Sound quality is awesome on this.

Man, turn your almost anger into heartfelt admiration for the guy who dared to step onstage with an Edgar Allan Poe t-shirt. Even physically departed , he remains a Metal Chieftain. Btw, i agree with your Pentagram/Hellhammer cocktail - way to go!

I'm with MRoad since late 84/early 85 as far as i remember. I interviewed Mark and Brian in Porto, 2016, with another guy from an online thing, who claimed he was ace in digital matters (i'm not), so i trusted - the result is that he f'd up and the 20 minute interview was gone. Some digital ace. Mark was a great American spirit, with an incredible knowledge of Euro-Culture and Music, an anthropologist. Just for us to realize his thoughtfulness towards fans, he was signing albums the way he used to do, back in the days of those albums' releases - that's going beyond the call of duty. In Porto they played a very small club but the atmosphere inside was boiling with awe, absolute admiration and total Metal spirit and vibes. And if you're definitely into the ethos of MR, a 2-day concert does really sound nice. Quoting the Man himself, ''Up the hammers and may the Gods of Light be with you!".

He gets pretty close, that's for sure. I feel like he sings more like Mark compared to say, ten years ago. He seems to have really grown into it.
I feel exactly the same man. Wonder how this could ever happen
Rest in power, Mark! What an amazing human being and a legendary band.
Indeed.
Perfect remedy to forget about every tour and gig canceled nowadays!
What I was just thinking sitting here trying not to go out!!! What a surprise. Stay safe!
