- These are the 2 largest drugstore chains out there. I doubt many of us can even name another one that's still in business. This video talks about how they came to dominate the industry, the different paths they took to do it, and finally some modern comparisons.

CVS and Walgreens are always across the street from each other
Tyra Lee that’s because they are both trying to put their stores in the best spot possible
which is why there are corners with like 3 gas station or why car dealerships are all next to each other
The it’s a rite aid down the street
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW THAT lol
CROSS THE STREET THEN!
YEESSSS where I live there is a walgreens in the corner of the street, and on the other block in front there's a cvs lol
I always prefer to shop at Walg- (looks for signs that tells me which store I'm in) ... CVS.
Jason Fischer they are like almost the same to me
@@nachosNipples Yep. I just went to one a few hours ago. I swear I'm not sure which one. I think that it was CVS, but I can't guarantee that.
The one with carpet is not walgreens
I always get Walmart and Walgreens mixed up.
@@ne2448 don't forget, the one that sells cigarettes is not CVS.
Walgreens feels like small grocery store with a pharmacy, CVS feels like a pharmacy with s small grocery store.
Hey. I would like to go to an all inclusive Walgreen's in Bloomington, Minnesota I know they have them 'cuz I've seen them online.
But I haven't seen one in my neck of the woods. 😞
Yeah thats the vibe i get too
takethisyousob Independent pharmacy if they are available in your area. Most I’ve seen have a much more appreciation for their customers and more willing to work with them.
@@ThisIsMrJ13 or rite aid. That's who I think of for convenience store/pharmacy needs.
ebels3 same, I’ve mostly gone to rite aid for over the counter drugs
I live in Chicagoland, aka Walgreens-land. My town has 6 Walgreens alone. That was my first job, working in the pharmacy.
We have 10 in my hometown of Lakeland, FL
Why are the pharmacists and techs such pricks about giving out scripts even when insurances go thru? Like it personally affects them if you get it a day or 2 early.
@@jeffreyval9665 because there’s about 200 people ahead of you. You’re not special
@@donnyg9993 what tf does that have to do with me trying to get my script in 28 days??
@@jeffreyval9665 you said you wanted it early and they get on average 300 new scripts every day, so no you’re not special and probably won’t be getting yours early
CVS stores are way more depressing that Walgreen's.
William Smith than*
William Smith it’s probably the carpets. Their mere presence implies that someone is vacuuming for 8 hours a day
But CVS doesn't sell disgusting and vile tobacco.
@@DNSKansas yeah cigarettes and dip are disgusting. I prefer cigars

Always got the best video ideas. Was curious about this.
Thanks man. Hope it helped straighten things out.
BIGGER than Microsoft! That gave me a bit of a shock
It's not true
They sell drugs. Of course they're bigger.
I am born, raised and still residing in Chicago. Back in the day Walgreens was the go to. We had neighborhood Pharmacies but Walgreens had that and a whole lot more. They were fun to go to with my Parents. Fast forward to the last fifteen or so years. Another Pharmacy in Chicago was Osco. They were the competition for Walgreens for decades but all their stand alone stores were now becoming CVS's. At the time we preferred Osco because many of them were connected to our home grocery store Jewel and the Chicago Walgreens stores seemed old and outdated. They were everywhere but they were also small, cramped and poorly lit. Just blah. CVS came to town and turned all the brick and mortar Oscos into theirs almost overnight and everything changed. No one here had heard of CVS, that soon changed. Just in my old neighborhood I had three CVS's within walking distance. Two were across the street from each other! The Walgreens in that area was not a store I would shop at. As Chicaoans go we generally don't take to Easterners coming here and changing things but we adapt. In my new neighborhood I have a CVS a block away. I get my scrips and so forth there. I have a Walgreens nearby that is more up to date but still lacks. Sad because here in Chicago we love our hometown businesses but man they are dying. Good video. Thanks.
8:26 That's one heck of an increase in the cost of acquisition. Forty-five percent for seven billion dollars; and then the other fifty-five percent for almost two and a half times the price, just two years later. Wow!
What about the Theranos experiment at Walgreens? I'm kinda amazed at how they got away with that unscathed.
Can you elaborate?
@@munawwarshaikh8010 woman who modeled herself as Steve Jobs created a company called theranos that made at home blood tests that didn’t need to be sent out to a lab. Only problem was it was complete BS and the kits didn’t work. Walgreens bought the company for several hundred million dollars and somehow the company was never exposed or audited until after the transaction. She’s currently in jail for 20 years
In my neighborhood there's a CVS and Walgreens right across the street from each other. I usually shop at the latter
there was one in my neighborhood too. the cvs recently closed. the walgreens was always a lot busier and i preferred it.
It was a sad day when Longs Drugstores closed down in California/Nevada. They were unique in that they would tailor sections in the store to appeal to the recreational niches of the region: Cases in point that dates back 30 years ago:
In the mountain community of Truckee, California; with nearby Donner Lake; Lake Tahoe; and adjoining rivers/streams; the Longs in that town would have an impressively stocked fishing tackle section; every bit as good as what you'd find in a sporting goods store.
About 30 miles east of Truckee, in Reno, Nevada, the Longs Drugstore on Plumb Lane had a firearms section that could rival the local gun shops with the assortment of rifles, shotguns, ammo, and other accessories. It was really strange to see a section of guns, ammo, and firearms accessories where one would normally see small appliances, wristwatches, low-priced cameras, and specialty sundry items.
I remember Rexall Drugs when I was a kid back in the 70's. You should do a video on the history of Rexall.
Thats all in Dollar General now right?
Rexall is still alive in Canada, or at least in Toronto
I found this channel yesterday and I haven't left since
Here in Kansas City, most Walgreens and CVSs are located right across the street from each other.
8:21 Duane Reade locations don't even feel like drugstores, but rather grocery stores. They are pretty much the closest approximation to a grocery store in Manhattan, a very densely-populated area. I've been to locations near Times Square and the heart of Broadway.
Lived in Delaware for many years. Whenever I see a Walgreens, I automatically think Happy Harry's.
As of Jan 1, 2020, at least some Blue Cross Blue Shield insurances no longer cover RX from CVS. I believe that as a result of this change, those numbers of prescriptions filled will have a drastic shift and Walgreens will see much more action in the year to come while CVS will see a decline.
I never even knew they were completely separate I have a lot of Walgreens that say "Walgreens/ cvs" or it's Walgreens with a CVS in it. Ik they had separate stores but I just thought it was like a Pepsi and Fritos deal, same company different names
I have Walgreens and CVS both side of the road.
The first pharmacy I remember going to was Lucky. It was purchased by Albertson's and then they broke up and now both are gone. We go to CVS in our local Target now.
Personally for me they're about the same. Although I grew up with mostly CVS and Rite Aid, we only started getting Walgreens here the past 10 years or so. But yeah CVS and Walgreens is about the same to me. Walgreens has pretty cool stocking stuffers around Christmas. But they should probably thing about how they word stuff. Last Christmas they had a pocket pool game. It was called pocket pool. The box said play with yourself or others. Either they didn't think about that, or they knew what they were doing. Either way it was hilarious.
Damn Company man raps too.
“I Think Walgreens is bigger than it seems because they have a lot going on over seas, CVS is also bigger than it seems because they have a lot going on behind the scenes.” Yo!
CVS stopped accepting BCBS prescription insurance. Take your prescriptions elsewhere.
Can you please do a video on emachines? That was my first PC ever at the age of 15. I remember my grandfather buying it for me at Costco in the summer of 2000. The PC cost was about $399, it was significantly cheaper than all the others in the market at that time.
I'd like to see episodes of Dollar General, Target, and Walmart.
I have been working for CVS for the last 4 years. I prefer Walgreens over CVS. Walgreens are brighter and nicer stores. CVS just cares about making a quick buck and won't dump any money into stores to make them nice and bright, clean or even up to date.
I work at Walgreens, so... I'm probably a little biased, but overall, Walgreens is brighter, like you said. I also get a discount on anything I buy so of course it's cheaper.
I liked Eckerd Drugs, but when CVS took them over, I switched all my prescriptions to the pharmacy inside my local Kroger. But then my insurance company got some deal with CVS and moved us over there. They're OK. Their employees are indeed helpful.
Anytime my girlfriend or I are pretty sick and have a healthcare concern we just go to Walgreens and ask the pharmacist because he has been much more helpful than doctors the last couple times we've tried visiting a doctor
In NYC, we have Duane Reade, which is owned by Wallgreens.
I'm from the Bay area and I remember Long's!!!
The Long's Drugs name is still retained on the ones that operate in Hawaii. All the stores on the mainland are now CVS locations.
In Corona Plaza New York City
There used to be a rite aid but changed into Walgreens
I only care about how CVS doesn't sell tobacco products so I usually prefer them
Alex Sosa what does that change
Yeah I feel like that’s really cool for a company so that they don’t make money out of addiction
Alex Sosa CVS donated $35,000 to Trump so.... they’re out for me.
@@joshMorgan111 Right, just PROPER drugs...
@@CapnCody1622 Dude, lay of the anti-depressants - they can't help your TDS and will just make you MORE depressed...
I grew up with Walgreens, I always preferred their stores over rivals.. Just for the Pharmacy though since they have my entire history there..
Always preferred Walgreens. On average better atmosphere, (slightly) cleaner, better organized
0:48 they are across the street from each other in my town
rite aid: am i a joke to you?
rite aid is better for sure
The most stubborn of us from Delaware still call the stores Happy Harry's.
CVS buying Target's pharmacy units was such a disaster. Target's patented drug bottles and display labels were amazing. And CVS killed them.
Gotta give it to Walgreens for me, I have three Walgreens less than five minutes from my home, we even joke about it saying things like 'if we close our eyes and throw rocks we'll probably hit a Walgreens for they multiply like rabbits.'. Plus Walgreens was here first so for many people in my country Walgreens is a more trusted company.
I use a local family pharmacy thats been around forever. I remember when CVS bought out Revco in the 90s. Have always missed Revco. As I recall and maybe Im wrong but Revco was larger than CVS at that time. Billions in debt and yet they make tons of money and pay their CEOs millions and millions. Such crap.
I shop at. Walgreens,,been to CVS once,,but was a Rite aid and Duane Reade shopper
Walgreens has Pops which I collect, and CVS does not (at least for exclusives)
I live in Puerto Rico the us territory and Walgreens seems more local when I think about it and there’s less CVS’ so they seem more American, especially since I mostly see them in the tourist area aka San Juan and Condado
Im my town theres Cvs, Rite Aid and a Walgreens all on the same street.
Walgreens vs cvs vs ride aid
All those neat old and very personal small drugstores... Gone. Sad. I have often wondered what the world would be like if companies weren’t allowed to buy companies. One simple rule. But undoubtedly with astronomical consequences. Some good, and no doubt some bad. An interesting thought experiment.
The Family Video closest to me just shut down. Can you cover them? They are kind of an oddity, considering it uses a somewhat antiquated technology.
Well i do not live in USA.
Never ever been to Walgreen or CvS megamarkets.

Walgreens might crumble before the Rite-Aid buyout pays off. The working budget has gotten so low. Lots of people are leaving, and they can't get any new hires, because they pay lower then the area. There stock is performing poorly. I currently work there, and even just 2.5 years ago when I started things were so much better.
Fun fact about Walgreens that you left out: During prohibition they took advantage of a loophole that allowed you to get liquor by prescription, and that's when they saw major expansion.
VideoSuperMaster They were a dispensary.
Yeah that seems like some Walgreens energy
and in the modern era they refused to stop selling cigarettes until they had too. Don’t blame them, half of the processed food sold in these places is terrible for us as well 😅

Every cvs near where I lived at was creepy af
Crackheads running around dirty floors messed up lights Idk maybe I just lived in shitty places but Walgreens always brighter and cleaner
The inside is nice but there are homeless around the area 😂 But for Walgreens it’s in-between 4 schools so everyone goes there
The ones in my area are always near liquor stores. Also attracting creeps and such
lmao complete opposite for me
You're not wrong; the vibe in Walgreens is always better. That said, I think CVS gives you better deals. It's such an odd business model; mark up prices on everything you can get cheaper at a grocery store, but give coupons to bring those prices down, and occasionally even below MSRP.
I think they kill half the trees in the US with their receipts.
I agree Walgreens is always cleaner

Too bad both companies don't care for their employees anymore.
To be honest, no company does.
Who does anymore?
Mc Donald's is SHOOK
I heard Cosco treats their employees fairly well compared to most companies
It’s so true. I worked for both companies as a manager and neither one gives a damn. We never even got Christmas Day off. I know that some places are open. But the pharmacy staff had the day off. Basically if you don’t work in the pharmacy, they don’t care about you
CVS receipt lengths are longer than my future
@LavenderLumosCVS: yeah points that youve earned but you dont know untill after the purchase something then you have 24 hr to spend more money in the store with the recipe saved or it expires. Then if you try spending that dollar after expires you can't, but soon as you buy something you have a dollar again to make you come back like a mouse to get the cheese.
Walgreens: you have 2 dollars worth of points would you like to use It on your current purchase?

ha.
Ashley Croft not as long as the receipts at this store called menards. shit's like two feet long
Sad times indeed.

@@LOAblue ,
Unfortunately, they don't have a booth to sit down at while you enjoy their Thrifty Ice Cream.
Every Rite Aid I've been to has an ice cream counter
Rite Aid does not have a counter for ice cream or milkshakes. I would know I worked at one before we converted into a Walgreens.
I've worked at CVS for years now and I have to say that it's the single most poorly ran company in the country. Every store has no more than 2 employees at a time, hours are constantly slashed yet everyone is pushed to their limits to finish what needs to be done, and workers are treated like objects. We are supposed to close at midnight yet are forced to work shirt shifts and close early because of how many hours we have. Our union is fighting for us as we speak, as CVS is attempting to decrease our wages. Our WAGES. The only thing on their mind is money, and they'll ruin everything for us in order to save that much more. However, they don't give a SHIT about theft. For a company that cares so much about money, we're forced to try to prevent theft and deal with thieves ourselves, and not single day goes by without at least one person stealing something. I've witnessed 4 separate robberies of over a thousand dollars too. Plus, since it's only 2 people at a time at night things can get dangerously. I've had plenty of people threaten to hurt me and someone was even waiting for me outside until luckily a cop showed up before we closed. All this and CVS still doesn't care one bit about us, the only thing it'll take for them to wake up is something bad to happen. Oh, and the way COVID was handled was atrocious and should've been illegal, but I won't go into detail about that unless someone asks. People are starting to notice the though, and sales are starting to dip hard in our district. Instead of lowering the crazy high prices or giving us enough people or upgraded equipment that isn't from 2005, they introduced carepass.
CVS is a terrible company, I hope we go down under one day. I can't wait to leave.
I always liked Walgreens better
That's why CVS needs more love and support
thats horrible
You had all this time to post this, you can also update your resume and leave. No one is holding you hostage😂
And it's still happening
In my experience, the CVS locations I’ve gone into are always dingy and dirty with poor customer service. Walgreens on the other hand has brighter, cleaner stores with better customer service.
Cyborg Magm4r I like Walgreens more as well
Makes sense, the type of training we get is 80% customer service.
I've had the opposite, surprisingly.
@@MrAnnoyingalien Guess it really comes down to location.
Weird. In Dallas Atleast all the cvs locations are clean, modern designs, and have a welcoming group of staff, it’s the Walgreens that never has a fully lit up sign that sketches me out

Prescription. Also while the face price of the products are high, utilizing the store card alongside weekly sales often brings many items to costs lower than even Walmart. This is true of CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens.
AlterMannCam Don’t forget that with a card for Walgreens you get money back for every dollar you spend, even though it’s not much you can easily end up saving 30-40$ a year and it comes in handy if you need to pick up snacks or drinks for a party or something.
ah the dreaded line of death
But hey, all it takes is a hand full buying stuff to make it worth it.
Just you wait. I hear that none other than Disney has plans to buy up the "drug" stores, dollar stores, and the gas stations with convenience stores, the latter being a second phase as electrification sinks in and those gas stations become cheap when they get mothballed. They are already lobbying for an exemption to any environmental cleanup that would otherwise be required.
I've been a pharmacist since the mid 70s. You glossed over another big difference. CVS started only selling health and beauty aids. They were run principally by non-pharmacists and only added Rx depts. later. Walgreens was more pharmacy focused and managed. Sadly, today, I don't see a dime's worth of difference between them.
CVS scares me. Every CVS I’ve been in felt run down, and they had CARPET floors which were extremely stained and dirty.
CVS stores always have this dirty gray carpet. I just have a preference for Walgreens. The stores feel cleaner and brighter.

Walgreens always seemed a bit snooty and overpriced for its limited selection and quality. My money goes further at CVS. But no matter what, if you don't like one, all you have to do is cross the street and go to the other.😂
I worked at Walgreens from 2001-2015 in several different store-level positions. Working for Walgreens as an assistant manager in the early 2000's was pretty good. Decent pay, benefits, 401k was really really good. The company also seemed to care for their employees to some degree. Circa 2010, things started to go downhill. By the time I left, it felt like I was working for a completely different company.
I agree with this. I was a general manager from 1997 to 2011. Towards the end it felt like the blind leading the blind.

I know you don't get political in any of your videos, but I'm curious to know if you're ever concerned about the underlying motif of corporate consolidation that becomes apparent when you examine these companies. I personally find it troubling that so much power in so many industries rests in the hands of monopolies, duopolies, and oligopolies.
English doc English
Well if they started abusing customers someone would compete with them. It’s all cheap so as of now we’re good.
@@liamryan7239 that's not how these things work. When corporate power is as consolidated as it is in the US the barrier to entry is generally too high for competitors to feasibly crop up, especially if they're not financially backed by a large conglomerate. Look at cable and college board, for example. They cost way more than they would in a truly competitive market for different reasons. Cable is a super expensive investment, few companies have the capital to enter and combat establishment players. This allows the resulting regional oligopolies to gouge customers. College board has a more natural moat, that being that colleges don't want to have to interpret the result of numerous tests. Again, this results in ridiculous prices for the exam, an unnecessary charge to send in scores even though that could be done for free electronically, and terrible standards and scandals even it comes to the scoring of exams. If there was even some competition in the market college board would be as good as sunk, and rightfully so. I would implore you to reconsider your complacency in the matter, it's actually a very serious problem.
@@liamryan7239 Exactly all companies can be replaced, the example he gave is a utility company. Ofcourse those will be run by huge corporations. I would not want a local business man to be in charge of my utilities.
@UC-qRx0kDPNbykQ5gTkVt2SA sakib bari I think you're premise is off from the start. For example, cvs was able to catch up to a big company pretty quickly because it had corporate money to help it grow. Others without that, however, can't compete and are bought up. Also yeah, airbnb and Uber exist, but entrepreneurship is actually pretty low despite the appearance of the contrary. I also think the notion of anyone with an idea being able to do it is pretty obviously wrong considering that hasn't happened and a majority of Americans can't even afford an unexpected 400 dollar expense. I also don't care whether or not I sound smart. I'm a politics and econ major, of course in going to use the technical terms, as they're the proper terms.

I always go to the Rite Aid instead of the Walgreens (that seemingly pop up on every side of it) near me. I just feel overall more comfortable there. I always feel out of place at a Walgreens, and my one forced personal experience there for medicine (versus other trips for batteries or anything else in the past was absolutely horrible.
Definitely surprised to hear that both of those companies are that large. My local convenience stores barely have anyone in them
My local CVS has lines at the pharmacy during off work rush hour.
Mellow Baton yea, I always have larger lines at rite aid, and Walgreens is almost always empty, and the nearby CVS has a huge parking lot that almost never has any cars parked there
who the hell is even keeping these stores in business?
@@Yahriel The pharmacy is what makes money for them.
You must be in a middle class area. I'm in Florida it's junkies and panhandlers all over convenience stores
I worked at CVS for 1.5 years, the COUPON abusers were the worse man. Two of my coworkers got fired because the coupon people were gifting them items for letting them buy tons of carts full of items for basically $ 0. The paper ad says one coupon per sale (not per customer) so they do one transaction at a time and with only two people working in the entire store the line used to be big sometimes. And being in a bad neighborhood, the amount of robbery was insane.
The coupon abusers wearnt the problem esp if they were in a bad neighborhood. They were creativley saving money not their fault they 1 dont have a bunch of money and 2 yall dont want people 2 use the coupons you give out. God knows if everyone who didny have $ had the time we'ed all be couponing
Working at cvs sucks tho sorry u had to go through that
"Sure, there's Rite Aid"
not for long, courtesy of the first company listed in the title.
Rexall?
Walgreens. Yeah, they bought Rite-Aid stores.
@@coreylineberry8557 *Still buying
@@TheEpicDiamondMiner My bad
The Rite aid by me shut down about 6 months ago.
Hearing “Eckard” just gave me childhood flashbacks
Can we get a vid on the rise and fall of Eckerd?
Eckerd Corporation still exists within Rite Aid interestingly enough, albeit not in name. When I worked for Rite Aid my W2s were processed by Eckerd. Go figure.
Edit: it has come to my attention by some baffled readers that Eckerd stores in southern states were converted to CVS while in the NE US they were converted to Rite Aid and to this day Rite Aid is a parent company of Eckerd.
who?
What's an Eckerd?
@@TheChickenRiceBowl It was a large pharmacy chain.
No, Eckerd was bought by CVS...are you guys playing some sort of joke? Any case...I'm still annoyed and butt-hurt by this even all these years later...there was NOTHING wrong with Eckerd's they were doing JUST FINE...but CVS had to just take them all over, stealing from everybody the wonderful chain that was and turn it into something ugly and evil...THAT'S ALL THEY DO! STEAL COMPANIES AND TURN THEM INTO MONSTERS! EVIL EVIL EVIL!!!!!
*gets carried off still babbling and ranting*
I love this! You should do Staples v.Office Depot, they feel like the same thing
Man where is my bell-bottom suit! i havent stepped foot in one of those in years. And years, and years.
I remember my mom buying a computer from staples once, it was my 2nd computer. Also the last tech purchase ill be involved with from an office store. They do have good pens though, and an amazing selection of printer paper. Both of which get used less by me as time goes by.
I think ive had the same ream of paper for almost a decade, my pens have lasted as long too. Although i did order some refills for them online. Zebra pens, there the best!
YES
Where I live there is almost always a CVS across the street from a Walgreens. It's like they're staring each other down.
One time i saw 3 Waffle Houses in the same street and just 5 minutes away there was an ihop
In. my town there are 2 Mattress Firms directly across the street from one another.
Ive seen 2 starbucks sharing a parking lot on multiple occasions. in fact that situation exists about 3 minutes from my house.
The krusty krab vs the chum bucket
..but, which one prints you a longer receipt?
It's close. The actual receipts are one thing, the coupons on CVS make it longer. If you were to add the coupons you get from Walgreens usually the Walgreens one is longer
@@Eaglefalls14 In my experiences, the Walgreens receipt has always been shorter than CVS ones. Plus the CVS ones too often have useless coupons or discount promotions(which for the most part aren't anything to me worth using), printed at the bottom of the receipt. It's like Kmart and CVS sometimes are competing(lol), for the honor of which store can come up with printing the longest receipt!
Cvs
Depends if you mean the actual receipt from Walgreens or the bonus ones you get when you usually use your balance rewards card
@@JustAMag rewards cards lol! all i can say to that is wtf, and ill shop elsewhere. the price is the price. This is why i shop 1st at target. Better prices, no bs involved. Routinely beats the grocery store even at a discount, which beats CVS and Walgreens at a discount. Suddenly i feel 2 steps ahead.
Wave bye bye albertsons, ill see ya when i need ya.
Target savings:
Jasmine rice 1.00 easy
pasta sauce 50c to 1.00
coffee 1.00+
Snack bars 1.00+
Premade salad?? but its cheaper!
things that arent
Chips crackers and cookies.
cheese (at least good cheese)
But normally when i price check items at target vs grocery stores i find myself taking target items.
Walgreens W looks weirdly like the Washington Nationals W
When I first saw the nationals I thought they must be sponsored by Walgreen’s by wearing their merch
And most of the bill is paying for the receipt
I'd say the Nats logo looks like Walgreen's! Since Walgreen's was here first haha
Walgreens had it first. The Gnats appropriated it. Also known as the Washington Baseball Team.
Do Speedway LLC, they have acquired a lot of companies and are still purchasing, a major company they just bought had over 2000 locations.
RIP Super America.
@@TapDat52K Super America was big here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. They were one of the good "red, white, and blue" stations, along with Holiday, that had more consistently decent, and fewer "ghetto", locations. Speedway was always pretty decent too, plus their rewards program is nice.
@@PongoXBongo i was gonna say, I have one by my house and it was originally an SA. When Speedway came in, everyone got new uniforms and the look of the place improved. But the icee machine is alot worse now. I like the one in St. Paul when I visited. Or maybe it's called something else. By the airport and where the Mall of America is at. :/
Speedway is owned by Marathon, which is why you don't see marathons where you see Speedway.
@@TapDat52K did you know that Speedway actually owned SuperAmerica, then they sold the name and then reowned it again after buying Andeavor?
Do rite aid rise and fall, talk about they’re accounting scandal!!

I thought I was at a disco the other day.
I walked in there was bright lights, bad music, and drugs everywhere.
Then I realized I was in Walgreens.
😯
Did you say disco?
Sounds like a CVS with a lighting problem!
No mention of CVS receipts?
Whats your point
@@coreypine9514 his point is that you go in to buy one thing - even a candy bar - and walk out trailing a mile-long receipt with useless promotions and coupons...it's ridiculous and wasteful.
You can save a ton on wallpaper with those receipts
You could have a wedding processional on a CVS receipt
@@ArtamStudio What you're saying is that I could live, die, and sleep on a CVS receipt?
Glad I go to Walgreens.
In my (new) home town of New Holland PA we have a "mom and pop" pharmacy thats been in business since 1869!
Don't let them sell out to these garbage corporations.

@@HEYT0MYFANSwhy would that be lol if they went bankrupt?
I remember doing a report on Walgreens for an Economic Geography course. I was flabbergasted at how gigantic both of these corporations are.
I had never even heard of CVS until they had took over the local Eckard stores.
Praise the Lord!

Same
Same here. I remember the moment they took over Eckard’s when I was a kid.
In my experience neither have been great for drug prices. I always go to the Kroger that is closest to me & I've heard Costco is really good as well.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with Kroger being good. When I was little I was sick, and then pharmacy gave me like 5x the strength of the antibiotic and got me really sick.
Chris Hart i forgot about kroger, they're pretty big
You should do a rise of chic-Fil-a to celebrate its first international opening in Toronto would be amazing.
The Rite-Aid ICE CREAM counter has always been a nice touch.
For me it was Thrifty's, i used to ride my bike there w my friends and get a scoop on the occasional hot summer day. Once they packed it in i remember being bummed, i never really took to another ice cream stand the same way again.
Sometimes when something goes, it is lost forever. I'm not sure if it was because i was about to enter my teens at the time, but something was lost the day i knew my local Thrifty's was gone.
