      @ChiliCheeseD0g I actually thought that the actors were used only for their voices. I didn't know that they did so much CGI

    Fun fact most people don’t know: James Cameron’s idea for “Avatar” existed as far back as his idea for “Titanic,” but since our movie technology at the time wasn’t really all that good, he decided to wait a while until it improved before revealing this epic sci-fi movie to the world. He obviously made the right choice

      He want to make this movie in 1997, and released it in 1999. At the time it was going to cost over $400 million. So no company, wouldn't risk that take.

    • @michaelmanlolo29
      @michaelmanlolo29 4 years ago +145

      @stryfetc1 Exactly he also invented some of the stuff/method just for this film since he wasn't satisfied for the 3d animation that time so he improved it and now became the standard in film making same things happen to Avatar 2 reasons why it also took longer for Cameron to begin filming..

    Considering how long ago this film first came out, I'm still surprised at how well the graphics looked, even for 2009. You can tell there was so much time and work put into this film. Making it an iconic masterpiece. I bet the second film will be even better.

    • @SubstanceD91
      @SubstanceD91 3 years ago +11

      The first one came out right when HDTV, Blu Ray, and 3D films were getting popular and it was the first film to really capitalize on all of that at once. Many theaters actually bought new projectors specifically because of Avatar. The 2nd one won't have those advantages so no I don't think it's going to be nearly as mind blowing. The first one felt like a theme park ride because I'd never seen anything like it. That being said the second one is going to be the first major holiday film release since the pandemic and every other big budget movie changed its release date so they didn't have to compete with Avatar 2. So it's likely it will do fine at the box office but people aren't gonna go insane over it like the first one.

    The fact they included real people too. The line between a 3d animated character and a real person got truly blurry in this movie. It's not just "Oh look a human next to a 3d character" Is barely noticeable, it looks so real and it blends so nicely! Like it doesn't look awkward or anything, it's just there.

      těm kteří to mohou takto vidět jen můžu tiše a smutně závidět jsem totiž těžká epileptička a zkusila jsem to a o pěti minut jsem si tím vyvolala epi záchvat tedy bezvědomí a to na celých 30 minut až lékaři mi řekli co tomu dopomohlo. Já záchvaty mívám běžně vždy se o mě postará manžel nebo někdo a to jsem ráda ale k tomuto záchvatu jsem si pomohla sama ale to jsem netušila. Avatar je moc krásný a v 3D to musí být bomba ale to si můžu jen nechat o tom zdát hezký den.

    It must of been so difficult to even try and sell the idea of this movie. It was 2007 when they started filming and working on this movie and cgi was really just making its way into films, but even then typical action movies had 1/4 of it be cgi and it didn’t really look that realistic,but for this movie where 80% of the visuals are cgi and they look pretty damn real for a movie released in 2009. The work put into this is unimaginable and is honestly a historic accomplishment

AVATAR is the Greatest Movie of all time hands down, let alone a piece of history to be remembered afterwards. We are lucky to have experienced such a intricately creative movie in person. So hyped for the upcoming sequel.🤩

    That is BY FAR my most favorite movie! James Bond, ThunderBall WAS my favorite up till I saw Avatar! I wore out one disk and bought another one. THREE TIMES !!! Then RUclips put out EXTENDED scenes. Then one of deleted scenes. Then how it was all made. My eyes were, once again, GLUED to the monitor!
    Thank you for posting!

    I specifically remember the day that I attended the premiere of Avatar in 3D in my hometown. I was 7 years old and I've never experienced so much emotion from a movie until Avatar. The amount of effort put into the creation of this movie is so insane. No other movie with this much CGI can even come close to the visuals that James Cameron was able to produce. The movie sets looked like absolutely nothing, but James had a vision that no one else could see until he pieced it all together and brought it to life. I've been waiting 13 years for this sequel to release after many delays but FINALLY, it's coming this year. I've never been more excited for a movie, let alone a sequel, to be released.

    For me it is the only movie I have seen so far which really needs 3D. And the only movie you only really understand in 3D and in the cinema. You are in Pandora, you feel Pandora, the movements, the beauty, the joy. The soul of nature.

    When I saw this movie. I was blown away by the visual effects. I get it. The story was very much like Pocahontas and Dances With Wolves. But it should be looked at as how mankind has done it in the past history before. Mankind has always been territorial and always looking to expand like an empire. I sure hope this movie delivers because now the audience will pay more attention to the writing and story.

    Luckily I have only watched Avatar yesterday, so hopefully I only have to wait for less than a year for the next Avatar movie. I can’t image how the others feel for waiting for more than 10 years! already knew all the plots but still couldn’t get my eyes off the screen at all. It was really so great!
