The true patron saint of Barcelona is Santa Eulália, not La Merced...the cathedral is consecrated to Santa Eulália, don't be fooled,These festivities are incorrectly dedicated to a patron saint of the city who is not ours and who has no historical relationship with Barcelona.
Santa Eulalia was the patron saint of Barcelona but in 1687 Barcelona suffered a plague of lobster and was put in the hands of the Vigen de la Mercè. After the plague, the city council appointed her patron of Barcelona and the pope ratified the decision in 1868. and the cathedral of Barcelona is dedicated to the Samta Cruz desfe in 599 and Santa Eulalia was added in 877 so La Mercè is strictly Patron of the Diocese of Barcelona. If we give information, let it be correct.
@explorandoloinvisible-n4c queen of Barcelona? I think you confuse history with fantasy but if it is what you believe I will not take away your illusion, happy night 🤗
@@XaviDGE Fantasy is what you say, that the patron saint of Barcelona, Santa Eulália, a Roman girl from 1500 years ago, was replaced by a drunk mayor in the last century,,, also the only virgin of Barcelona and all of Catalonia is the Virgin of Montserrat.. .La Merced is not the patron saint of Barcelona or of jokes....they smoked a lot of opium in the 18th and 19th centuries to create such barbarity

Parecen perros ladrando,......
