    Black Crowes is/was a unique distillation of the marriage of English and American blues, psychedelia, southern rock, and the epic journey of rock 'n' roll through the last five decades. If you attended a show you could hear it in the music and lyrics, you could feel it in the sound, you could see it in the lighting, the interaction, in the very movements of Chris Robinson and the rest of the band. It's a natural progression from those mighty bloodlines; they are a part of it. They had the spirit and the attitude. They are true believers. Not to mention some serious talent, putting it all out there in every single iteration. Luther Dickinson, children! I was at this show and many others and, while the sound at the Cvic is historically atrocious, I never ever had a bad time. I swear I saw the roof come off the building a few times when they played at the Fillmore (one of our favorite house bands!). I hope they are all still having fun, too, because they damn well deserve it. Good people. The Black Crowes: Long may they fly!

    What a kindness for this to pop up for me in 2023! BC & TTB finale! I did see Black Crowes play again June 2022 and hopefully more down the road. Played up a storm after 2 hr lightning delay and came back to do encore with lightning starting to flash overhead again. Chris’s voice, masterful musicians and the Songs! • @JasonDavis103
      @JasonDavis103 5 лет назад +4

      They "went out" pitifully. It was disgraceful. They were on the precipice of their 25th anniversary tour, which would have been the perfect time to bow out to their fans with a thank you tour. LITERALLY everyone in the band was down with that concept, except Chris, who wanted Steve Gorman to completely surrender his 1/3 of the BC profit split to Chris and become a salaried member, like a guy who joined the band that year, and also wanted his brother Rich to surrender most of HIS 1/3 BC profit split (to Chris' wallet, of course). If you look up hypocritical rock star in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Chris F'n Robinson - The ultimate sell-out.

With that being said the last couple years 2012 2013 def. werent the best years to go see them, but if youre a true Black Crowes fan , which you are not, you take the great with the mediocre , as it is what it is. Now if you got to be at shows back in the late 90s or 2005-2010 which I also have a feeling you probably werent haha, those were the epitome of Black Crowes Jamming at their best. period.. but anyway Id also say you probably dont have that "i bleed " a particular bands colors either and if not then you wouldnt understand "the Deal" but either way Bless you and may you find the unconditional love that music brings

    Chris is such a great frontman and singer. Say what you will about him as a personality but not many people can sing and be in the moment of music like him. Early on I felt he was just aping older idols. Some of those mannerisms are still there but he had freed himself up and moved and reacted to the music in such an organic way that it was joyful to watch. There is so much posing and cliche going on in music. I hope more new musicians get inspired by this type of band. Also anyone that is criticizing any line up the Crowes had is foolish. You many have your preferences, that's understandable. But there has never been a bad line up. Marc is a favorite and I agree, but everyone that has played with the Crowes has been a pretty stellar musician. Lastly, what makes the Crowe's great in the end is the songwriting and that is the hardest part.

    Two brothers! Polar Opposites! Far happier apart than they ever were together. Chris wants to be part of the Dead. Rich wants to continue doing the good time rock and roll in the style of the crowes. The music that made you click on this page to begin with. The Black Crowes are done. You however cannot replace chemistry. Chris claims he's The Mastermind behind the crows on Howard Stern yet I don't hear a damn hint of that and his solo music. Magpie salute... new song send me an omen more reminiscent of the Crowes than anything Chris is put out. Guess what folks? Rich actually smiles now on stage!! I'm usually not a big fan of replaced singers but John Hogg does an absolutely phenomenal job. Chris complains about rich being in a cover band yet he went out with as the crow flies. Yeah he's got that voice but there's a lot to be said for chemistry cuz he sure doesn't have a band that sounds anything like the crowes. I think sadly we've seen the last of The Black Crowes. This Auditorium show is good I was there. It certainly doesn't have the fire that used to have though. As long as the brothers are alive There's Hope but I don't see it happening. For those of you that want that old Crowes feeling!! Two words!! MAGPIE SALUTE!!!!

I saw Page & Plant in 1995, and I am so glad I did, but it was not Led Zeppelin. I think this is similar.
