Pentatonix originals have always been my favorites ❤️ They did a whole album of originals titled "Pentatonix" all tracks are great. They also have a few originals prior to that album.
This is on original PTX song and they recorded it last year. I think the pandemic delayed the release of the song, but in the meantime they did release 6 cover songs this summer and made videos for 5 of the 6 songs - Home (medley of songs about being Home); Blinding Lights (The Weeknd); When the Party's Over (Billie Eilish); Break My Heart (Dua Lipa) and Dreams (The Cranberries). They are unbelievably good and brilliantly edited since each person recorded their parts alone in their own homes and they were edited together to make seamlessly amazing videos. They've been together for almost 10 years and you won't be disappointed by any of their music - old or new! You have a lot of videos to react to with this group.

I've listened to countless reactions to this song, and an aspect that I have yet to hear anyone point out is the key message in the lyrics "WITH OR WITHOUT YOU." My list of top ten Pentatonix songs every reactor should do (some you've already done): 1. "Hallelujah" 2. "The Sound of Silence" 3. "Bohemian Rhapsody" 4. "Daft Punk" - their first *Grammy* win for best arrangement, and you'll see why. No added effects (and there's an off-mic performance to prove it). 5. "Imagine" - beautiful arrangement with a strong message for these times 6. "Evolution of Michael Jackson" (or any other of their *Evolution* videos. Pick your favorite artist) - these are medleys on steroid, *recorded live in the studio* in one continuous take, incredible transitions for 20+ songs in 6-7 minutes 7. "Can't Sleep Love" (Popspring concert version) - *original music* from their first all-original album 8. "Aha" (Star Vista Singapore version) - an iconic concert performance. The combination of Mitch's highs and Avi's lows are out of this world. 9. "Say Something" - a powerfully emotional rendition that showcases *Kirstin* as the lead. She usually sings harmonies or shares the lead with Scott and/or Mitch 10. "Havana" - Kevin does Latin percussion here and the harmonies are just gorgeous. If you want to go back to where they started as a band, you should react to their Sing-Off performances (12 judged performances). They were formed on the day before the audition of this a capella reality show, but even from their first performance, they were already pushing the boundaries of a capella. And then you'll see how they grew as a group, taking in and implementing the judges' comments, culminating in an explosive performance. They have quite a bit of their original songs, but aside from this one (which is the first single for their new original album, that should hopefully come out this year), the newest ones were original Christmas songs from 2016. Seriously, their original songs are always a real treat and in my opinion are better than a lot of their covers and that's saying something. The fact that their original stuff is not as popular as their covers is a real shame. But, oh my God, this song in particular, it just slaps! Maybe it's because we've been waiting for it for so long (the music video was filmed last September and they were sitting on it until this week), but it's definitely my favorite original by them right now and in a long run it will probably stay in the top three spots unless some other songs from the upcoming album knock it down. Which, knowing their songwritting skills probably will happen :D. Also, seriously, pause all you want. People who complain about pausing probably don't understand the point of a reaction. Yeah, sometimes they're concerned about losing the flow of the song, but if you want to appease them, you can rewind a little whenever you paused. But in general, pausing is cool and a lot better than talking over a song or even just playing it and then trying to remember everything you wanted to say after the song is done. To me this song is a result of a time that you lose someone, and in the beginning you become a ghost of your self (Mitch in the white Shear) but you finally move on, and as you are starting to ask, is it ok to be happy now, and then you finally break through and you allow yourself to be Happy Now, me, myself and I. This is a strong and loving song! I have lost 2 loves through my life (one on Valentines day 2003 and one on Valentines Day 2019) and each time I have held on to missing them, and I did not realize I was still holding onto the hurt until this song, and it allowed me to let it go, and start back on my road to being Happy Now.
This was supposed to be the leadoff single for an entire album of original material that was gonna be released in the Spring of 2020. Then the pandemic happened and the album had to be put on hold. This was the only video produced before the pandemic hit. They ended up recording the At Home album, made up entirely of covers, which had to be recorded by each member separately, then edited together by their producer. That was released in the middle of the pandemic. They had already started their Christmas album for 2020 before the pandemic, and it was then finished and released during the pandemic as well. All the while, they released a few tracks from the album of originals along the way, each with videos that had to be produced without the members actually being together. The new album including Happy Now, which was entitled The Lucky Ones, was finally released in February 2021...and it is their MASTERPIECE!! Literally not a weak song on it!
Yes I love it, I first heard and saw them sing this when they toured America and South America, Asia and New Zealand and Australia, I saw all the videos people were posting when they went to see them live, Pentatonix was supposed it come here Manchester and London about April this year and other parts of Europe but they rescheduled for next year. Well, since ya'll are youtube family, the first time I heard this song I wept. On November 28th I celebrate 3 years away from mind and mood altering substances. The song is just a....well I dunno what, but it hits me hard in the feels.
The first time someone hears Pentatonix their eyes get big and their mouth gets big, they can't quite process what they're hearing. 4 or 5 videos later, they're reduced to just giggling.
I love this song but to me and I guess it’s because I’ve lost a loved one, but it is slightly sad to me. It’s like they are ending the grieving process and asking for permission to go on. The whole symbolism of starting in black and white and finishing in color showing the grieving journey.

The first time someone hears Pentatonix their eyes get big and their mouth gets big, they can't quite process what they're hearing. 4 or 5 videos later, they're reduced to just giggling.

I love this song but to me and I guess it’s because I’ve lost a loved one, but it is slightly sad to me. It’s like they are ending the grieving process and asking for permission to go on. The whole symbolism of starting in black and white and finishing in color showing the grieving journey.

If you really want your mind blown, listen to their original "Love Again". It's an electronic EDM style song with incredible sound effects.
Summer song? Yeah, I can see that. Ecen though it sounds, to me, like finally getting over a break-up, then finding you can be happy again without that other person. The upbeat nature of it, especially toward the end, definitely makes it an over all upbeat song.
This is not their first original, though it is Matt's first original with the group, I believe.
