My provider has recommended 1 heavy session and that scares me a little bit. What do you think about using this device for one heavy session? She said there would be some down time and lots of peeling. She says it’s the only way she uses this device.
I'm 27, fair skinned and experiencing fine lines and mild but noticeable laxity in my face, namely smile lines and eyelids. I had a low energy face treatment at the end of November, and then a low/high energy face treatment in mid-February (so a little over two months apart). The high energy used was on the lower side as stated by my provider, I think no more than 1.4 Joules. I definitely see results, but feel I'd like more and want to do another treatment. Is 2 months a good amount of time to wait before doing another low/high energy treatment?
Hi Sylvia, NeoGen plasma treatments do not lead to any undesired (or desired) fat loss. NeoGen uses ‘real’ plasma to deliver heat deep into the skin producing an initial instant tissue contraction. This is followed by a rapid resurfacing of the epidermis and longer-term collagen and elastin remodelling of the dermis. The thermal energy released by the plasma doesn’t reach the subcutaneous layers of the skin so there is no denaturation of fat cells, only skin tightening as a result of the skin remodelling. NeoGen uses pure Nitrogen rather than air to generate plasma so there is no skin charring or open wounds. Low energy treatments (less than 1 Joule) generally don’t require any numbing cream. These are usually multiple treatments with minimal recovery time. High energy treatments (1 to 4 Joules) are usually a single treatment with a longer recovery time depending on the level of treatment and energy used. They require a suitable topical anaesthetic for managing discomfort during the procedure. Both options require good skin hydration preparation to help the transmission of the thermal energy into the skin and an optimum result.

After melasma treatment is normal to get darker lines or pigmentation and how long it will take to clear?
What about fat loss from the treatment? Is it painful, and can you use numbing cream?
