Low-Lumen Mini Red Flashlight - Zoomable, Dim Red Light, Perfect for Close-Range Reading and Viewing Star Charts While Stargazing in Astronomy - Batteries Not Included
This is a small red low-lumen flashlight that weights under 3oz with battery. You can turn it on or off, and zoom the beam.
It gives just enough light to read by at night, or walk around without hitting things, while using red light to preserve your night vision. I've found it is perfect for stargazing when you need to walk around or change out an eyepiece. Solid aluminum construction, simple on/off switch, includes a hard pocket or belt clip that could be unscrewed if you have the right super small star/hex screwdriver.
Requires one AA battery. The manual says it will work with an AA sized battery up to 4 volts, so if you find a 3.7 volt lithium battery in the AA form factor that will also work with it. It comes with a sticker that says to not point it at your eye, but the light is so dim I can't imagine how it would actually hurt your eyes. The sticker is easy to remove if you want.
