As I haven't played any of the RE games, I can only talk of what I've seen here. The artwork in the book takes up quite a lot of space, making it seem a lot bigger than it is. But once you realize that, the artwork does look quite nice. The unique cards have good looking artwork, the style matches the cartoon movie that I saw from the RE series. In this type of movie (and consequently, the games based on those movies) I tend to wonder what kind of person leaves all those weapons just laying around, like they're toys.

At its release, this game was a Dominion clone with a twist. Resident Evil art work was a huge selling point and there were not a million deck builders. It has a special place in history.

Nightmare isn't actually a stand-alone, there are no Basic Resources included, so you can't play this by itself out of the box, need Premier, Alliance or Mercenaries for Basics.
Nightmare is pretty much a "more of the same" expansion, similar to Dark City for Marvel Legendary. Its mansion is very much RE4, so if that floats your boat, that might be a selling point. I also feel the mansion is perhaps an easier one compared to Premier, Alliance and Outbreak, with Mercenaries having similar level difficulty, so this one might be easier for getting kills, as well as some nice bonus effects for getting kills. Infected in there do add on special abilities though, some odd ones like Verdugo which you can't kill if your draw deck doesn't have enough cards, that sort of thing.
But, it does also add my favourite Hunters, able to potentially inflict -40 max HP on someone in a single flip (if you're down to 20HP left, flip a Hunter and have most Decorations, you suffer -20 max HP, meaning you just died, which then adds another -20 max HP token on top of that).
On a side note, you might have cards mixed in from other sets, Ominous Battle is an Action from Premier set, not Nightmare.
