    Let these people control themselves, this was exactly how koro Ceesay’s family felt when he was killed killed in cold blood by Yankuba and his fellows. He made matters worst for himself when he refused to speak at the TRRC. If not for the security who safe him, he(yankuba) would have been killed by an angry crowd that day. You see this is what justice really is. I feel sad about the death sentence but thinking about the victims and their families “justice is worth to be done”

    Aduna du dara, self interest people. Dafma yobu makkah moi tah nga support ko ? Pa bi neh it is a conspiracy ndah why not Edward Singateh ? Edward did what Yankuba refused to do. If he had testified, he would have not been here today. But he refused and render useless the Trrc. Now those of you defending him, what if you were Ousman Koro's Family, will you act the same way ? Wah len degga te Ya Allah tah. It is painful I agree but Koro's family had more pain than anything. Ragal len Ya Allah. Thank you.

    Those of you reacting go and drink cold water, Yankuba Touray put himself in this situation.
    The judge ruled according to what's presented to him.
    Go and appeal the verdict to the court simply and stop howling.
    All of you won't say this if Koro was their Family members .....

    I really hope an arrest warrant is issued on the guy that was cursing the judge. The judge plainly stated that the sentence is what the law dictates it's not his making ! Yankuba is foolishly arrogant and unremorseful. What these people did is wrong, they coldbloodedly murdered a brilliant and distinguished son of Gambia. Ultimately as the quote goes " The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice"...Today as a country, we have taken the baby step towards justice!

    Yankuba sentenced himself! He had the opportunity to avoid this whole mess but had told the Gambians to use all explorable legal tools. That's the most basic tool used against him.

    The Judge is minuting ALAHGIE KANYI'S testimony to justify his judgement. Therefore, he has enough evidence by founding all of them guilty for murder. I can't in my life comprehend how Only YANKUBA TOURAY should be sentence whiles EDWARD, PETER and KANYI set free, even when the judge is taking KANYI as his reference point!

    My friend Yankuba is the caused of his own misery cuz he disrespected the TRRC infront of the whole world. And what some of you didn't understand is that his judgement was handled by the high court n those that testified at the TRRC their day is also coming as the TRRC is yet to make it's final recommendation.

    With all his arrogance, being disrespectful to the legal systems in The Gambia and most importantly showing no signs of regret or remorse to the victim family not to mention all the evidence exhibited, this sentencing should not be a surprise to any fair minded Gambian

    Allah knows best. Yankuba was given every chance to testify. He was rude and arrogant. The problem was, it happens in his residence. He had to comply for that to happened in his house.If he wasn't guilty or has nothing to do with it. He should have exposed those behind it.Silence never solve a murder case he is an adult and a very out spoken person as we all know.All the above names the judge mention should face justice too. They are all guilty.

    I am not a Lawyer but I find it terribly disturbing that a Judge of a respected court should use as evidence the demeanor of a defendant and defense witnesses(Mammy Minteh and her sister) to give deliver verdict at a trial. Are Judges supposed to be mind readers and body language experts? And should they use these supposed expertise to judge and cast aspersions on individuals in a court of law. Can anyone enlighten a lay man here. With crime that happened over two decades ago and no physical evidence or recorded physical evidence of a murder weapon, no DNA or finger prints established on the murder weapon or a record thereof for such evidence ever produced in court, it is sad to say that this is the cheapest and most unfair verdict ever pronounced by a judge anywhere. The only evidence are the mere words from the recollection of Alagie Kanyi and a couple of other people for a crime that happened over two decades ago. No physical evidence whatsoever to convict and sentence to death an individual. How safe is this verdict to be used as precedence in future trials? If this is good enough then I am sorry to say a lot of innocent people will be sent to the gallows for crimes they have not committed. I am not saying Yankuba Touray is innocent but the evidence as per this judge's verdict is rather too weak and unsafe to sentence anybody to death. I hope the Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court will see sense and throw this case out for the sake of justice.

    • @imammalickcham2356

    • @peterg2765
      @peterg2765 3 года назад +1

      He was taken to court to prove his guilt beyond reasonable doubt and they produced nada. He was not taken to court to prove his innocence. The evidence is weak and the judgement dreadful.
