I don't know if you've ever seen sports teams on TV after the games? The show the locker room while a news person is in there interviewing people. In Movies, they have shown Locker rooms and showers many times, again, in open rooms. Every country has its own method. It's the same in High school. They go into the locker room where all the guys change into and out of their sports gear and take showers in large open rooms with the Shower all lined up against the walls. Most of the time there are no partitions, just an open area. The same goes for the military, most of the time. It all depends on what country you're from.
7 guys in one small dorm with one bathroom or later in a bigger dorm, they probably had a bathroom like a gym. Now, the service probably has an open shower room.
