Brings back some great memories. My wife and I went on honeymoon in a red one with a green roof I'd picked up from a teaching colleague at work for £20 in 1987. The final destination was Venice, via Boulogne, Rheims, Lucerne and Verona. Back via Munich, Bayreuth, and Koblenz. We did some serious mileage, and it didn't miss a beat! The weather was great for the whole of the three weeks so we had the 'roof' rolled back most of the time. Sadly the Dyane was written off in an accident near Saarbrucken in 1989 - we were off to Munich! Happy days....
I had an old Dyane from September 1977 to late 1978 I converted it from a Dyane 4 of 435cc to a 602cc using an Ami engine from a scrapyard, so the interior was not as posh as yours..believe it or not. I liked it mostly....but not at -5c ambient on the Yorkshire Pennines when the heater wasn't heating much!. Not sure how I'd cope in 33c. The noises all come right back to you in an instant. Thats a lovely little car.
We get -6 here in Lithgow and, I totally agree, the heater isn’t the best. I understand the early cars have a much more efficient heating system. They are fantastic little cars and I always have fun when driving her.
If I only had 2 options between a Citroën Dyane or a Citroën 2cv I’d choose the Dyane, it looks way better. Edit: ahh, the legendary scream of the 2CV @2:50, music to my ears! Edit 2: 9:30 looks and feels like your about to tip over, but thanks to the Hydropneumatic Suspension nothing bad is going to happen.
To get reverse easily put it into first ,first then it will slide through to reverse easily . Sorry that was clunky but I got the point across, I think .

the dyane 6 was always faster than the 2cv6's max speed of 110 kph. the aerodynamics are better and there is a rudimentary 'blower' taking air from the fan to the air filter. speed would be with a reasonably new engine 120kph. I had also a 1971 Dyane 6 with 200k on it; that was so fast 130-135 kph. Great cars.
and when you get back from where you've been; you get home desperate for a 'stubbie'. you cant find the bottle opener......Dyane jacking points are the perfect stubbie opener........just dont use the jacking points for anything else...like jacking. a piece of wood across the chassis rails is the safest way.
@@paulscountrygarage9180 I figured out that it was the turn signaling indicator as I saw you flick the stalk as you competed a turn and the light quit blinking. Not self canceling? Guess we take self canceling for granted. Even the 1951 car that was my first car had them! Same engine/drive train as 2CV in Dyane?

And you’d be correct. They weren’t sold in Australia. Most are private import cars of, usually, English origin as is my car.
I had a 1973 model but by 1991 it was really rotten.replaced it with a 1989 2cc which I still have.great video

Parts are readily available from Europe from a number of suppliers. I do my own servicing.

What's the flashing light on the dash? Anything important....like seat belt warning?

Paul, Citroën of this era, and for a few more years, never had self cancelling blinkers.
