The idea is good but you need to make it safety.. the tip must be shorter and closer to the nichrome wire...put a fiberglass insulator in each terminal...

En una ferretera antigua venden weller europeos por las puntas redondas son de 40-60wats 220 y los vende a 50 dólares y se puede modificar el circuito para doble temperatura a diferentes voltajes
you put it closest to the handle. how are you to manage using that? dumb idea. if you're going to do something like that, make sure your handle isn't malleable using heat. i'd rather use wood.
Utter rubbish, this guy does not know anything about Alternate Current and Direct Current. Unnecessarily he spoiled the new soldering iron. Simple good soldering iron can be created with just a 10 ohm resistor, the soldering iron tip, piece of wood and a 5V 2A/3A mobile charger, glow plug soldering iron can be done with Glow Plug of 11V, soldering iron tip, 12V 7A battery or adapter of 12V 6A or 7A or perhaps more. Why all this waste? Even towards the end it was not working properly. Simply do not try to promote yourself on something that you have no knowledge of.
