This is EXACTLY what I needed last week and I'm seeing it today haha. if you make the center piece of 20cm instead of 14cm it's the ideal bag size for EasyJet hand luggage.

You can finish the raw edges inside with DIY piping by using the double fold over method (similar to that used to make the straps).

Люблю текстильные сумки, они легкие, можно стирать и расцветку можно любую придумать, а еще при шитье легко утилизировать старые джинсы и вообще почти любую старую одежду. Кстати подобную сумку для ручной клади я себе на днях сшила☺️

Do you need to use quilted fabric? Do you think it will hold up ok if just using fabric?

Quilted fabrics are usually more stable and beautiful.

I made the bag and I seriously hate the raw edges. Not easy to sew on the piping to cover the raw edges because once you sew everything it's not easy to sew on the piping over the corners. The bag looked really nice from the outside.
