I love how this is double layered joke with or without intentionally. One of the main ideas is that misinformation can be spread by anyone and anything in order to mislead others.
When I first played MGS2 in 2002 when I was around 15, I actually didn't know Plisken was Snake, even after the Tanker chapter. The reveal at the harrier fight actually caught me off guard. MGS2 was also my first Metal Gear game, so I didn't understand the hype around Snake and felt really connected to Raiden as a fish out of water type character.
When you first boot mgs 2 it asks if you've played mgs 1 if you say no it lets you select to play plant If you do you skip tanker. I didn't play tanker so i had no idea who Solid snake was

What if after they removed his arm they also removed his liquidness, since revolver ocelot ends up becoming liquid himself, and liquid snake's (now just snake as they drained his liquid) came back to life and took on his brother's (who he loved deep down) code name and fought for what he believed in after his death, that's why he goes to fight liquid ocelot st the end, because he's angry at his own liquid for being mean to his beloved brother

I always thought MGS 6 cloud be about a 4th clone who they lied about killing. Wouldnt be the worst retcon ever and it would be an excuse to play as a young snake played by David hayter and still have an original story that fits in the timeline. He would have to be Gas snake or something tho lol

I wonder if the detail of Navy/Marine Pliskin is telling something, from what I know marines are the fighting and boarding force of the navy, since they are a ‘technical’ branch like the Airforce, so him being a marine doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch. This does make me wonder if it’s intentional and what the story to it is, maybe it has something to do with the bigger plot, maybe each big boss clone joined a different branch, idk just spitballing. In MGS4 Eva goes into the background of everything and specifically states there were 3 brothers from les infants terrible. She's the mum so I think she would know. Play the Snake tales missions. They don't say anything about or elude to him not being Solid Snake. Granted with how convoluted and full of twists and turns as the MGS series is, it wouldn't be too surprising if they added a twist like this but in this case they didn't. Pliskin is Solid Snake and that's all there is to it.

Throughout the game snake and pliskin are unknowingly swapping places with each other. Pliskin has knee problems from fighting in the fortnite battle royale which is why he must sit down after the first vamp encounter. Notice how pliskin never has these problems after this? thats because afterwards raiden is actually interacting with solid snake disguised as pliskin.
Their eyes are different too. Do a close-up of Pliskins eyes and Solids eyes. Solid has blue eyes, Pliskin has green. In Snake Tales, 4 of the 5 missions have Solid Snake as the protagonist. However, Dead Man Whispers is about Pliskin. He's even referred as only Iroquois Pliskin, and never Solid Snake. Regardless of Pliskin being Solids cover story, this video is awesome. 🤗📦

Fun fact that I learned, pliskin is actually a mechanic, and engineer repairman from the marine corps group from the tanker. You can't tell who survived but you know very random few who did. He secretly got out,left his dead comrades and made a change and got the same job but working for the SEAL HQ that sent in all the soldiers who died, and for the last two years he gathered way more experience than the average human who can, and became a good, valuable worker at the SEAL base, until he was promoted to SEAL team soldier, and went in with one of the SEAL teams, but survived - and the rest is as we know it.
