I love how the room turned out but let’s be honest, this wasn’t a “budget friendly” makeover when a few thousand dollars worth of furniture was given for free by the sponsor.
I always enjoy watching you and this was a great transformation, but I feel like I was just gaslighted with the words, "budget friendly". I definitely could have a beautiful living room too if Article gave me new furniture. I thought the room ended up very pretty, but the style didn't appear to fit the house, nor the person wanting the change, even if she was grateful in the end. I would love to see some actual, realistic, budget friendly makeovers using existing furniture and incorporating inexpensive amazon finds, thrifted items, and marketplace accessories to give rooms a higher end feel.
Nice video - but I would take caution to put “budget friendly” in the title And then immediately list Article donating thousands of dollars of furniture. It’s fine to make this video - but Listing budget friendly in the title is a little misleading. Very much enjoyed the Design.
I called it budget friendly because ALL of these items are lower in budget than we would find at many of the larger decor stores. And they are definitely lower in budget in comparison to where other designers would source the items.
Get creative, do your search on similar items at a lower cost. Amazon, Wayfair, even target. These are only ideas, stop the instant gratification where you get everything you need or desire without having to do a thing. I updated my whole house by getting ideas fr9m videos n pinterest but had to do a lot of research to find lower prices or items similar to what I wanted for a fractionofaprice.
Valentina - I don't know how budget-friendly it is to get all new furniture from Article! Would love to see FB marketplace or thrifted finds in a makeover.
I was thinking the same. It's beautiful... but Article's contribution was about 5k. So the whole room for "almost nothing" or "a few hundred bucks" was actually about 5500.
Would you really? There's a reason that people sell stuff on FB or Goodwill, they don't want it anymore! Her design aesthetic is modern and forward facing, if you want a house full of old, cheap stuff you may want to find another channel!
@@CandaceReed-d8rAhem, older stuff is often better quality and better made. How do you think it lasts for decades? Soon, this new and straight from a catalogue look will be out of style and then what?

Enjoying the room. Would like to see an actual budgeted makeover with pricing and who’s doing the work. Hopefully there is a complete video doing on your laundry room.
I think the room felt more cozy, comfortable and homy before. Now it looks like a catalog, and not collected over time. Trying to mix some of her old furniture or decor pieces would have been nice to see.
I called it budget friendly because ALL of these items are lower in budget than we would find at many of the larger decor stores. And they are definitely lower in budget in comparison to where other designers would source the items.

Yes, off you go. Go get your thrifted modern, decent quality pieces, which will still cost much much more than free. Seating tables rug… Any thrift stores that have any decent buys at all are almost as much as new.
The real budget friendly video would be to decorate around the existing furniture that was good quality as the host said . So maybe new rug, art, lighting , bookshelf corner as host said she likes to read and replace some items but not all😅. It’s fairly easy to decorate with all new furniture from the same company as all goes with each other. In any case love Valentina’s design style.
The best thing is to take inspiration from this makeover. I love finding higher end items & searching for the budget dupes. It takes time but it can be done. There are apps & Google search that can help you with that. I have found the same rug being sold across multiple sites with an insane price spread. An 8X10 being sold on $1200 on one site & $325 on another. The exact same rug, just not being sold under the name brand. When I rolled the rug out it had the name brand label on it. 😳FB Marketplace & sites like that are a big help. When I wanted to complete revamp my hand-me down interior, I got a job at my favorite home retailer & those employee discounts were AMAZING!!! My Mom & I both love European mid-century & modern design, so we swap stuff all the time. Where there's a will there is a way. It may take longer to complete but you will get there.
Huge difference…from dated to modern. The only thing I would have differently, would have kept the big mirror on the right wall when walking into the room & painted the frame golden bronze. Mirrors reflect light & with the windows across from it makes the room appear much larger. Great job over all! ❤
Then start your own channel. Find a client. Do their room. Film it. Edit it. And then show it to the world. And expect for others to critique you instead of celebrating with the home owner on their new room!
I would have resanded the floors too. Just did ours and best decision we’ve made. It will lighten the space. Personally I find fake plants cheapen the space, use live indoor plants instead.
I do love your videos and I was so excited to click on this one. I’m truly looking for some budget friendly options these days. Very nice, and enjoyed how happy she was. The sofa and the side tables are stunning! Understand round furnitures are in but it does feel like too many round curves in all the room now and the 2 accent chairs look unproportionally too big relative to the couch.
Budget? Do we get a link for free furniture? It is lovely, but I agree with another viewer that the style doesn't seem to be "her" blend with the other rooms in the home. And when are sat in the chairs they seemed like they were too small scale for a tall person. Maybe keep more of a traditional track sofa in a different material than then the boucle chairs. Love seeing an outside home makeover, and I'm definitely checking out the art links..
"Once they sent that furniture and rug, it was easy." I bet it was! 😂 Calling this is a budget makeover and saying in the video you kept it to a few hundred bucks is absolutely nuts.
Finally a makeover by the House of Valentina again! I missed it and honestly got tired of videos talking about how to improve ones space, same thing over and over again. Pleae don't take this personally, just as a feedback from a decorator and viewer. 😊
Most youtubers have sponsors, she had already explained herself, it's still more budget friendly than some other places to buy from...some people are just unbelievable.

What about lighting for reading and landing zones for drinks etc. beside the armchairs? A great conversation set up, but not great for evening reading. And homework? I guess everything is on a laptop now, no need for a writing surface…

The things I have purchased from Amazon at your recommendation have made such an impact. My husband, the other day said, I really love what you’ve done to the house! Please keep these kind of videos coming! Also, could you make a recommendation for shades?!
Hmmm... Budget? Most things in the reveal were new. I think she had some personal pieces of her own. And the TV could have been included, if done right. This seems more like a shopping video. 'How to purchase for a light & brighter space.' Nothing meaningful in this space. The art on the wall very generic. Nothing necessarily dreamy. The space is filled with new things, but nothing new done here. This is basic interior design work, imo
It is a lovley transformation. I see comments about budget friendly. If you actually look at the Article link the items are not thay expensive. Are they Ikea prices no, but they are definitely not Pottery barn or RH prices. "Budget friendly" is relative. Take the ideas and shop what works for you and your waller.
The individual pieces are really nice, but is matchy back in style? The room looks like an Article showroom. The rug blends in with the walls and gives the room a floating feeling. I prefer the rug to anchor the room rather than blend in with the walls and furniture.
How many sprigs of cherry blossom and of the olive branches did you use in those arragements? Please advise as I want the same look and don't want to puchase a wrong amount branches.
I’m disappointed in the “click bait” claiming transformation on a budget when the majority was donated by a sponsor. It’s beautiful but another “sea of beige” room. I’d like to see some color and use of thrifted or antiques.
Yes it was donated which means that it was in fact budget friendly for her client. This is someone's home BTW! Maybe for a split second you should stop being so selfish. The client is obviously thrilled with her room. Your opinion could actually rob her of the joy of her space. If you want thrifted items or antiques you probably need to go to a different channel.
@@CandaceReed-d8r there is no selfishness and I’m sure it feels right to plenty of people. It just didn’t resonate with me and I’m allowed to share my feedback. And NO agree from a paying sponsor is NOT the same as budget friendly. I appreciate your feedback.

Are they Ikea prices no, but they are definitely not Pottery barn or RH prices. "Budget friendly" is relative. Take the ideas and shop what works for you and your waller.
This is fantastic! Well-done, Valentina!
Thank you so much!
Fantastic redo!❤
You never cease to inspire us!
Thank you so much!
I love how it’s so light and airy!
5,000 for furniture and about 300 for paint. That’s not bad at all for this beautiful room!!! I paid that for just one couch! Great job Valentino!!!
I love your style.
The biggest improvement is the paint color! Love it! Now you have to do the rest of the house. It never ends, does it? 😂
This was so fun! I love this video! Actually watching the process is very helpful. ❤
Its beautiful! ❤
Thank you! 😊
great job with room
Where is this furniture from?
I love how you transform a practical living space. please share more content like this. I love it great job
Wow! Wow! Wow!
Looks FANTASTIC 👏 ❤
I LOVE the floors! Very European!!
Her room looks so pretty
The individual pieces are really nice, but is matchy back in style? The room looks like an Article showroom. The rug blends in with the walls and gives the room a floating feeling. I prefer the rug to anchor the room rather than blend in with the walls and furniture.
Looking good!! Great job as usual. Yes I would like to see more of these❤
Thanks Edna!
Please continue to make videos like this! I truly enjoyed this.🎉
Thank you! Will do!
Beautiful and still very cozy!
Thank you! 😊
This is clean and lovely! And she can add things as the years go by because now the bones are solid. Dove Wing is my jam!!
How many sprigs of cherry blossom and of the olive branches did you use in those arragements? Please advise as I want the same look and don't want to puchase a wrong amount branches.
loved this style of video
The room looks great but where are they supposed to do homework?
I feel like she needs a tall élément like a bookcase to be completed
Great job, Valentina! That's always what you do . . . make rooms beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
So make your own video
@@CandaceReed-d8r there is no selfishness and I’m sure it feels right to plenty of people. It just didn’t resonate with me and I’m allowed to share my feedback. And NO agree from a paying sponsor is NOT the same as budget friendly. I appreciate your feedback.
@@bhazleton You're not a very nice person. I've seen your comments around on here and they're never very nice or supportive. She talks about building a community of empowered people who build beautiful homes and lives. Why don't you stop obsessing over her titles and listen to the message.
@@madelinerodriguez8216 Why don't you share your home and then we can all provide honest feedback as well?
Thank you Valentina!
You're welcome 😊
I love it!!! Would you recommend Dove Wing paint color in a space with NO direct sunlight?
Please help me with my new house. I have 90’s style orangey hardwood floors. I can’t afford to restrain them right now.
What can I do with the wall colors and room decor so that it is contemporary?
I like contemporary, modern organic aesthetic.
Very nicely done. ❤
I love the transformation videos! I have a feeling she will want more😊
We're already working on another room together.
Fantastic. What an elevated difference.
Thank you so much!
HOW BEAUTIFUL is this transformation?!!!!!! 😃😁😍🥳🥰
