*This fix was last tested by me on 2024/02/08* (using version 2023-12 of eclipse, the latest version available as of the time I am writing this) I have made an updated version of this video: ruclips.net/video/_crqONXAxRY/видео.html *Note: This comment is being updated as soon as other viewers solutions are posted here in the comments. So I would very much appreciate it if you could comment your solution in the comments if you had to do it differently from my tutorial.* Note 2: I created a discord so we can avoid the comment section (mainly because it usually takes longer for me to see your comments). So if you still need Help I'd be glad to help you out over there discord.gg/56FAhCAJVd I just noticed, I am stupid. You have to paste the file path in a new line otherwise it won't work. So do it exactly like I did in the video Also in case this error just popped up after updating eclipse, you will also need to update JDK which can be downloaded on the java (oracle) website. If the error occurs after updating JDK follow my tutorial and you should hopefully be fine If you don't find an *"eclipse.ini"* try looking for *"eclipseproduct"* it seems that in some cases it's called that It is possible that you need to put two "-" instead of just one before typing vm. So in your case it might need to look like this --vm *your file path* Also you may need to remove -vmargs (removing -vmargs could limit your functionallity though so be aware of that) If this error still occures after trying to follow this tutorial, leave a comment about what you tried and maybe I know a solution Also I wanna take a quick moment and thank all the viewers that have commented the differences in their fixes. This really helps out other users so I really appriciate everyone who has taken the time to comment the differnces they encountered when fixing this problem. So again thanks a lot people, I am sure other viewrs will appriciate this as much as I do :)
@@atrisengupta9776 ok so there are a few things you can try if this didn't work 1) Make sure you have the latest JDK installed (the latest should be JDK 15) 2) You can go into the Java folder and remove anything from it but the latest JDK (you can add those folders back into the java folder after setting JDK 15 as the library for eclipse to use) One of those should fix the problem. Let me know if you need any help or if those fixes didn't work either
Thank You Man Alot I have Been Trying to fix this issue sin past 20 days after seeing your tutorials i swear my eclipse runs properly Thank you a lot man Love from INDIA
Yea I don't really see the point haha. There really isn't any point in building a community when all I am doing is tutorials. My way of thinking is: One watches my videos to find a solution to their problem and not because they like to watch tutorials That's why I try to keep my tutorials as short as possible while still being informative. No one likes to watch a 10 minute tutorial where there is actually only 2 minutes of useful information in it. Asking for subs would just unnecessarily drag out the video. What I usually do, is think, if I was to be the one that needs a tutorial, how would I want that tutorial to look like to help me as fast as possible (without loosing out on the explanation on why something works the way it does) So yea all I really want is for my tutorials to help the people who are watching it :)
I had Eclipse 2020-03; got it updated on notification and ended up in incompatible JVM problem at launch. Your fix helped me! Now I could start Eclipse which reads 2020-12.
Thank you, second week of class and this has been popping up every single time I restart my computer. This made the issue go away without having to reinstall and setup everything each time I wanted to use Eclipse.
man tysm i've already opened like 20 tabs of documentation and stuff and still couldn't find out what's wrong, though this wasn't my exact problem I still figured out what to do thanks to you :3 tysm
Thank You Reewen! I am a computer science student at an online university. I have to use Eclipse for a software security class. When I first saw the error, I thought, "RUclips".
Bro thanks i am still learning java and than this poped up and i browsed for solutions but no one has a solution but you had that. So thank you man!!! 😉👌👌👌
This issue really should be handled more intuitively, I don't know why it wouldn't just prompt me to select the right JVM version if it's unhappy with the one currently picked. Hopefully they address it soon. Thanks for the helpful video!
Yea considering how long this issue has been around, I find it unlikely that they will adress it. And I mean technically you can choose which JDK (so JVM) you wanna use. But in order to do that you will need eclipse to start. So yea, I totally agree with you, it makes no sense why they wouldn't let you select it
It wasn't working for me, so I pasted all that before "-startup" and it worked normally, thanks a lot and sorry if I wrote something wrong, my english is kinda bad 😆.
Thank you for showing us how to solve the problem, I always had problems with installations and settings and when I look for solutions 99% of them are not understandable or too hard. Thank you for being that 1%
