Congratulations to Merab on becoming the new champion. He had a great game plan and he executed it beautifully. He mixed his striking and takedowns so well. O'Malley is dangerous when he gets into a rhythm with his striking, but Merab prevented him from establishing any sort of rhythm. Merab's nickname is so fitting because he really is a machine with his relentless pressure and crazy stamina.

Merab forced O'Malley to fight more defensively and O'Malley struggled to do that.
I'm sure there's a way they could have had a live view where they isolated each fighter but made them giant, without distracting the fighters too much. Imagine seeing two giant fighters in real time...

Really don't know what happened to the referee. It almost seems like he had a bet on Sean. Merab was working on the ground and it was a very dominant performance. It makes you question how Sean was gifted a win over Peter yan and then forced Stering to do a quick turnaround to get the advantage. Even after that he fought Chito not Merab. UFC was trying do hard to make him look like a bigger star than he actually is.

Merab mistook it as a stop for the end of the round, so he let go and started to walk away, which Sean jumped up and capitalized on. It was weird, but kind of a misunderstanding. Herb was ridiculous at times with his fight coaching though. That's not his job.
