My mom did the cooking In my family and every one loved the way she would cook it . My thing is I’m just starting to learn how to do this kind of cooking. I have just started seeing your channel and I’m learn. Thank you.

I will definitely be trying that potato trick. Some of the ladies at work were talking about their propane griddles that they have. Theirs stand tall and large like my gas grill. I don't want one like theirs , because i can put my cast iron griddle on my grill and get the same result, and most especially. I can take my griddle camping. So, I'm watching videos on how to cook on a griddle. Thanks for the tip.

Just this week when I was cleaning my basement I found my long griddle just like the one you used on this video. It’s a Wagner with Made in USA marking. I cleaned and seasoned. I wanted to find out how this griddle can be used on a stove vertical or horizontal. I found your you tube video and saw your awesome stove/grill. Wish I had one like that. Where can I get a grill like that? For now I will be using it on the stove to fry eggs and potatoes. Thank you Backwoods Gourmet channel

Down in Baja Mexico during a long weekend surf trip we were camping out on this dry dusty point with nobody around. To clean the pans I used seawater and a little sand from the beach then did a light rinse with a little of the meltwater from the ice keeping our beer cold then onto the fire grate to dry. Worked out fine! It was motivation to be good fishermen or we didn't eat.

Great idea about using the potato for non-stick never saw it before. Two questions for you, 1. Does it hurt cast iron to use steel utensils on them I have heard different opinion’s on this. 2. Can you store your cast iron on a porch in the different temps in the northern states as long as it is seasoned well? I live in a cabin with not tons of storage space. But the porch is inclosed just not heated. And the Back straps looked so good just the way I cook them. So many people overcook their wild game and make it so tough you can’t eat it.
