Your neighbours must be very pleased to see the excellent restoration work you are doing . It. is always lovely to see an old building saved , and to see your neighborhood improved.
So hard working together. Working with a wheelbarrow is also a technique, like using enough speed and loading heavy things in the front to make it easier. You already look like master of the manor while having a coffee break 👍🏻
What a refreshing job to get rid of all this junk !! GREAT JOB both of you. All your work has created a new beginning to the next stage which, after a rest for your weary bodies should encourage you to the next step !!! Good job to the kids too !!!!
You two are such a complimentary couple! No bickering, no belittling, just supporting one another and working together! Love it! What a great example you two are!
I showed your videos to my sons. They were also very impressed. We also enjoy projects like these. I waited all day until I could sit down and enjoy more of your project. Thank you for sharing all your hard work.
So nice to see that during the lunch break you are enjoying the sun in almost the same spot as the previous owner judging by the streetview images that were taken 11 years back. Two chairs in front of the house.
Hi from Australia. What a beautiful house, you will turn this into a very welcoming and loving home. Your garden will make this just beautiful and your kids will enjoy everything you do.
I think so too! Can't wait to start on them. I already did few attempts, but we have other more urgent things to work on. And since we are not living there yet, it is hard to squeeze it in between other jobs. I am learning to be patient and to wait till summer😀
Good 2 see that there are more crazy folks as me, who give a new live 2 an old home and its history! In my case there was much less waste, because I tried to recycle as much stuff as possible. The wooden moldings, boards and panels we dismantled, had been piled in the backyards, and now they are used as shelves in the barn, from some of them I made frames for paintings and pictures and I even constructed a kind of vintage bookshelf from the most shabby looking boards. I also used the old red bricks. The good ones for some decoration walls and the bad ones had been shreddered into small gravel for decoration in the garden. That takes time but was a good alternative to my stressy business and saved a lot of ressources and even money
Hi again from Jan in Massachusetts. I know how it is to be working on a budget, but seeing all the brick and stone work you have to move, I think you will find a wheelbarrow with two wheels in front much more stable to work with. Also, much better for your back. Well worth the investment! I have great respect for people who are not afraid of hard work, enjoy preserving a bit of history and recycling. Your rewards will be worthwhile! I'm so glad I found your channel.
Good day! This was a big chore, but job well done! When I was a young woman , I could work as hard as you both, but not any more. I can only watch and admire your perseverance! The word “lazy” is not in the Belgium vocabulary, lol. It is hard to watch the struggle, but fun to see the result! The weather looks beautiful, kids are having fun, life is good. Be safe and strong, many blessings to you all.
Hello Cookie, many thanks! Indeed, we banned this word 😂 There is no time to relax now, we need to move in as quickly as possible... Getting older (I would rather call it 'getting wiser') has its own charm, I am sure you have a lot of stories to share about your adventures! Stay safe!
Love the way you're giving life back to this beautiful old building! Your work with the cobblestones was impressive, you guys are getting some nice workouts! It's also quite sunny in Belgium ;-)
Love the 🧱 rooms, my husband is a builder...told him I could live in an old industrial building with 🧱 walls, greetings from North Carolina, United States
Wow. I have stumbled on something great. This is a beautiful, hard working family. The kids will remember this forever. I love this project. Good luck with everything.
Смотрю на вашу брусчатку и думаю, "вот бы им её ещё мойкой высокого давления обработать - очень интересно, что бы ещё открылось интересного" )))) Вы огромные молодцы!
Good, good work. I discovered your channel today... All the work is rewarding. The street in which your house is located is extreeeeeeemely quite. There are hardly any cars travelling... Glad you found your dream house
As you can notice from all my comments, I have been binge watching your video’s. I follow ceveral English, American and French renovation channels. Its very nice to be able to follow a channel from my own country! May I make a suggestion? It would be nice if you would make a little video introducing yourself, what you do in daily life and what your plans are for this property. It would also be nice to know of you are Flemish or French speaking and in what region of Belgium you are situated. At least I would love to know that, LOL😀
Welcome Nicole, thanks for watching and your kind words. I am very glad you enjoyed the videos! That's a very good suggestion, we were thinking about it - to gather all the information about ourselves and our plans in one introduction video. We'll try to come up with the video in the nearest future.
Hi love what you are doing to save that old house but one small piece of advice get a wheelbarrow with two wheels in front it’s more stable and greater copacity
What a mammoth effort you both put in! There is nothing like the feeling of having a room cleared of waste, so you can stand back and see your renovation vision. I really liked knowing the recycling facts. Here in Australia the first 'tip shop' was started in Hobart in 1993. They collected stuff from the tip face then but now the shops are so popular, people give them stuff at the tip shop drop off point. It is a great way to recycle, the money collected goes to local charities. Nearly every time we go to Launceston (second biggest city on the island) I drop in to see what 'treasures' I can find. All the best to you both.
‘Tip shop’ - what an interesting name, first time I hear it. Sounds very Australian :-) indeed, great way to recycle and give a second breathe to the things. Here we also have such shops, they are called “kringwinkel”. But the real treasures could be found on garage sales and flew markets. Have a nice and lovely day, Liane!
@@DeHoeveOldBelgianFarm Hello. Isn't that funny how we have different names. Tip is short for Rubbish Tip (Aussies do like to shorten names). I presume the 'tip' part came about because you 'tipped' your rubbish into a big hole or on a big pile. We we were kids in the seventies before the world went mad for OH&S. We used to love going to the tip. You could get out of the car in thongs and climb all over the tip face if you saw something you liked. Nowadays you wouldn't dream of doing such a thing! On the way home when we got close to our house, dad would let us out of the car, we would jump into the back of the trailer. He would then speed down the hill going over all the bumps so we flew about in the back. We didn't care about a few bruises it was the best adventure. Ahhh modern kids all the fun things in life have been sanitised. All the best to you and your family.
Wow! New to your vlogs. You are all fantastic workers... especially you and your husband. Amazing difference you have made already. It is a beautiful solid house and barn. Love love your vlogs!! Keep up the wonderful work. The house and B&B(barn) will be super when finished. Sooo much hard work. Good idea to put the barn rubble in the underground tanks to fill them up!! The front driveway you uncovered and cleaned up looks amazing...what a treasure to unearth!!!! It looks awesome. Btw...all Ukranians I know in Canada are hard workers😊🤗💫👌👍
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! SUCH DETERMINED COUPLE. I SO MUCH LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. WATCH IT ON A CONTINUAL BASIS. I GET UPSET WHEN I CAN'T LOCATE YA'LL.🍂🍁🌳🌰😷👷 WHERE IS BLACK KITTY? NO SIGN OF HIM?
Очень интересный дом, будет много работы в нём , но главное что-то делать, ведь само не сделается. Он кстати неплохо сохранился , кирпич хороший ,не уставший , качественный, но вы сделаете, я верю.
How do you guys split your time. When do you go to this farm house and when do you go about your normal days works and kids school? This is a very exciting channel I discovered today and am watching all the videos from start.
Hi, You have such a beautiful voice. When you are editing would you please increase the volume so we can hear you better? I am a new subscriber. All the Best
This kind of work is so rewarding! I admire your work ethic and the results you are achieving. Well done and best wishes from sunny Florida in the U.S.!
Thank you 😊 when I estimate how many skips we gonna have, I do want to join your “burn it all” team 😁 On a serious note, we are not allowed to burn painted or impregnated wood, processed wood, waste, paper etc. The wood, we were throwing away, was definitely not a go for burning in the backyard.
It is very much worthwhile checking your local situation on charges. In the UK, you will get paid for metal waste, soil and green waste are usually free or nearly free because it is recycled into valuable compost. Building rubble is taken very cheaply or free. It is mixed waste that is expensive so separating those others is very worthwhile to keep the weight down. Skip rental and transport is charged separately.
Well done, cleaning up this waste is hard work, I know, because I was doing exactly the same in February, only was my skip a tad smaller at 10m³. General rule for the prices is, how better the re-useability of the material, the cheaper it is to dispose off.
There’s something funny about how you cleaned the upper rooms. In Spanish there’s a saying “tirar la casa por la ventana”, which translates to “throw the house through the windows” but it means throwing a great party or giving your best to do something at home. And that’s precisely what you’ve done, both literally and figuratively!
Fantastic video, wonderful house and I like your style and positive spirit. I will follow your work and at the same time I wish you good luck with the renovation. We have also renovated a house that was built in 1968 which was a huge amount of work and has come a long way, but there is more to do.
Thanks a lot, Heiko. Good luck with your renovation! We see it as a hobby and just enjoy the process 😂 but there are stressful times as well... normally they shouldn’t belong to a hobby...
