I hope that this is your new intro. I know it's not easy to find a new excuse every week, but when you run out of ideas just ask your daughter, she might come up with one in seconds.
JKM you just blew my mind. 10 minutes ago I had no idea what a card scraper even was and between yourself and Stumpy Nubs you have just rocked my world. That is absolutely amazing. I feel like there will be somewhat less sanding in my life, and that crowning from using my RO sander drives me insane. What a great tool
Fantastic, another 2 minute Tuesday that lasted 6 minutes. I have not seen this request in any of the comments I have read for the last 2 or so years, would you please bring your wife and not so young child back for a cameo appearance?
Got my Tay Tools card scrapers yesterday. Did a quick sharpen and followed your steps. Beautiful curls off of the cutting board I am trying to get flat. Step up in woodworking skill. Thank you.
Bought the scraper kit last month. Just bought the carbide burnisher. Puts a very nice finish on hard plastic, too. Thanks and thumbs up to crush a troll.
I’ve made miniature scrapers out of hacksaw blades for small cove detail and round overs. They work great for cleaning up burn marks in cherry mostly. They work so well that it’s a mirror shine. No need to sand.
I carving a canoe paddle out of cherry and didn’t even think of using scrapers. I was lucky to see this video (and your sharpening one). I’m gonna have the worlds strongest fingers!
Recently got into woodworking and found your videos. I have learned so much in the past few weeks and have ordered my dovetail jig and apron. Keep making these videos. They are great! Thanks Jonathan for helping me get into this.
Wow! Never knew that a screwdriver could be used for sharpening! Thanks for this great video without background (overpowering music)! Off to order some scrapers. :)
You know what sounds as good as 2 minute Tuesday? 10 minute Tuesday! I love the fact that these are not 2 minutes, this is such a great channel and I always enjoy your content!
Two other waves I used a card scraper. I used the shavings to tighten up a loose leg on a chair. I was refinishing an old sideboard and used the card scraper to remove the spots of paint the chemical peeler could not remove.
I would have liked to see some scraping with the curved scrapers. The fact you even addressed them was cool but then you teased us. Regardless JKM 2020
+1 for the card scraper love, use mine pretty much daily. Also, love the Hamilton Khaki (PS - As a fellow woodworker/watch nut, when's that new channel coming?)
Great 2 minute video on how to use card scrapers, who knew you angle them away from you! What also caught eye was that raised table with dog holes you were using. Is that something you did a video on how to make or was it purchased. I would be interested in adding that to my shop. thanx
Growing up, my elderly neighbor showed me the "hillbilly" way of finishing a wood project. He broke a Mason jar and used some of he larger pieces of broken glass as a scraper. The contact area obviously varied and it took some practice to get usable results but it did work to smooth most woods to be ready for finish. No expensive sandpaper needed!
I can't begin to explain how useful the series is to me as a novice.. wait NOVICE "woodworker"!!! Quick question... there are multiple choices (tiers if you will) on the website for the card scrapers...perhaps a lil insight????
Hi Jon, does the apron come with a nice old antique key? you always seem to wear a key in the top pocket of your apron but you never talked about it, like you do about the cardscrapers, a matt estlea knive or the blemished combination sqaure ;) Looking forward for some explanation and of course the apron :)
Great Vid. Just got my apron, and already put it to use. Very comfortable, but I will be looking for the belt extender when it's made available. Love the channel. Can you review the TayTools planes? I'm looking towards Woodriver, but have questions about them. Keep up the great content.
Another great video from JKM! Also, speaking of aprons, I got my apron yesterday!! I love it. It is so much nicer than I thought. Is it to late to submit a pic of me wearing it? And thanks for the decal.
The excuse this week for the lack of intro music is sublime! And maybe rename the series : A Few Too Many Minutes Tuesday Tip Video of the Week ' cause why not make it the longest friggin' named spot on RUclips.
I've never had much luck with screw driver burnishers, so I bought a HSS version and never tried anything else again. Has anyone else been successful with a screw driver burnisher?
Word of advice to other woodworkers. Do not buy a bunch of scrapers so you don't have to sharpen as often. I have 7 rectangular scrapers. One gets dull, just grab another, right. WRONG! I end up with 7 dull scrapers. To be honest, in only have so many because I used to teach at Woodcraft, and had 6 students per class.
I used to love my card scrapers, but my arthritis has gotten to the point where I cant apply the thumb pressure any more. My thumbs hurt just watching this video! So far I can still use my hand planes.
Don't want to cause a cross Atlantic war but as all civilised nations know, they should be called cabinet scrapers, but I suppose even after 200 years the colonials have yet to learn. However, it does appear that JK-M is the c-scraper Master of the Universe😀.
This is not a reflection on you at all. I bought the burnisher off of Taylor Tools and also ordered the free bolt kit. The burnisher showed up but zero bolts. They should not offer something free if they are not going to deliver.
You needed to add it to your cart to get them. I think I said that several times in the video and it is in the links as well. Maybe write them and they'll send it to you but everyone else who added it to the cart got them. Look at your invoice. If it isn't on there then you probably just forgot to add it.
Well I bet that any company would want to make that right rather than have someone post public comments without giving them the chance first. There is no company on the planet, mine definitely included, that gets it right 100% of the time. However, there are companies like mine and Taytools that can and want to fix their mistakes 100% of the time. Cheers
Jonathan Katz-Moses I know they are a good company, this is not my first or last purchase from them. Since you have a closer relationship with them than me. I thought they would listen to you more. Thanks for your videos and charitable work you are doing.

Love this weeks excuse for not having an intro!
Hahahaha
I hope that this is your new intro. I know it's not easy to find a new excuse every week, but when you run out of ideas just ask your daughter, she might come up with one in seconds.
Right? Lol haha.
Just come out and say, we're just not going to have a intro for 2 minute Tuesday, lol

Two Minute Tuesdays still have the best intros. Great video too.
I’ve made miniature scrapers out of hacksaw blades for small cove detail and round overs. They work great for cleaning up burn marks in cherry mostly. They work so well that it’s a mirror shine. No need to sand.
Thank you, I was not understanding why people were using a scraper until seeing this, will be trying one now!
I carving a canoe paddle out of cherry and didn’t even think of using scrapers. I was lucky to see this video (and your sharpening one). I’m gonna have the worlds strongest fingers!
I'm so ready to just use card scrapers and 220 grit hand sanding to finish all my projects
Recently got into woodworking and found your videos. I have learned so much in the past few weeks and have ordered my dovetail jig and apron. Keep making these videos. They are great! Thanks Jonathan for helping me get into this.
Card scrappers also work very well for removing epoxy when filling knots and cracks, much better that sandpaper that gums up with the friction.
I like these short videos because I can watch them on my 10 min break
Straight the point kinda video, i like it.
Wow! Never knew that a screwdriver could be used for sharpening! Thanks for this great video without background (overpowering music)! Off to order some scrapers. :)

ANOTHER TWO MINUTE TUESDAY! Makes me so happy when I get the notifications!
Thanks bud!
Best tool ever! Sharp one is magic to use.
You got that right!
I love these Two Minute (plus or minus five minutes) Tuesday videos! :)
I Love 10 Minute Tuesday's
Two other waves I used a card scraper. I used the shavings to tighten up a loose leg on a chair. I was refinishing an old sideboard and used the card scraper to remove the spots of paint the chemical peeler could not remove.
"Pad" is slightly "padded", wtf. That's funny! Luv ya, Katz! Thanks for all of your great content. Keep up the good work. Thanks for all the energy.
Bought an apron and jig last week. Can’t wait!!
Time well spent! Thanks.
Thanks! Just got a confirmation that my apron has shipped. Thank you!
Hope you like it!
I would have liked to see some scraping with the curved scrapers. The fact you even addressed them was cool but then you teased us. Regardless JKM 2020
I cut two card scrapers from an old saw plate, one rectangular, the other french-curve-y.
I sharpen both with a screwdriver.
An old or chipped full carbide router bit (one of the spiral cutters) or endmill will work also as a burnisher if you use the shaft 😊
Fantastic, Jonathan! Thanks a lot for all the tips!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
This answered so many questions for me! Really appreciate the work you do, Jonathan! Stay safe ✌️
My guy!
Great work, thanks for taking the time and sharing!!!!
Great info packed demonstration. A must for all woodworkers. I find the square card works great on back hair. 🤭
I was waiting for the William Walker dig. 😂😂 Classic.
Thanks for the info Jonathan! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
I got my APRON today delivered the whole way to Northern Ireland and it is awesome thanks for a great piece off KIT J K Moses
+1 for the card scraper love, use mine pretty much daily. Also, love the Hamilton Khaki (PS - As a fellow woodworker/watch nut, when's that new channel coming?)
Good tips JKM. Really like your vids. BTW cute daughter bub.
I love the intro
Nice, my first card scraper ordered!💜My apron supposed to be delivered today, can’t wait :-)

I have a couple videos on my Moxon Vise
Thank you Sir.🎉
When is the Horology channel coming? I'm ready for that.
Just got my email saying my apron is in the mail. Looking forward to a real work apron😎 just got to make a marking knife before it comes lol
Me too!!! Got my note this morning - can’t wait!!! Now I can look just like him! :-)
Katz Moses v Walker beef is back!
Thanks very much for sharing that, well said and done!
Glad it was helpful!

Quick question... there are multiple choices (tiers if you will) on the website for the card scrapers...perhaps a lil insight????
Is it just me or does Two Minutes get longer each week.
time is only a construct to keep you down by the man, just like the intro. lol
Two minutes ... now with bonus minutes.
The sandwich is definitely man's toxic mistress. Truly a love/hate relationship.

I have watched your videos and others on sharpening card scrapers and I can not sharpen it to save my life.
What about the different thicknesses? You mentioned shape but not which thickness is best for what. Thx!
An old pushrod makes a great burnisher, for all you BBC fans.
Can you use these on plastic edges like acrylic Perspex?
What type of steel are card scrapers made from?
A type of spring steel?
Another great video from JKM! Also, speaking of aprons, I got my apron yesterday!! I love it. It is so much nicer than I thought. Is it to late to submit a pic of me wearing it? And thanks for the decal.
Do you have any code TayTools so we can give you credit for shopping there?
would you use a card scrapper on an inside corder of a box or is there a better way to get into those tight areas
Just waiting for an update when the apron and the stop block 2.0 are ready.
Great content. Thanks. The scraper link sends me to a "Hardware Kit for Cabinet Scraper Vise" page on taytools.
You keep calling William Walker out. I'm waiting for the slow burn that is inevitably coming 😂
Wow I have ever seen one of these before.
The excuse this week for the lack of intro music is sublime! And maybe rename the series : A Few Too Many Minutes Tuesday Tip Video of the Week ' cause why not make it the longest friggin' named spot on RUclips.
how do they work on soft woods like pine and cedar?
Legend has it Wm Walker can get better shavings with a plastic comb or Tupperware lid......Just sayin
Hey Jonathan Katz-Moses, I like your watch *cough* ;)
Hahaha linked in the pinned comment if you want to send me another *cough*
Ok you showed how to use it on a scrap piece of wood that you left very wavy. Can you show how you use it on an actual project?
When is the watch channel getting some love
I've never had much luck with screw driver burnishers, so I bought a HSS version and never tried anything else again. Has anyone else been successful with a screw driver burnisher?
Reaching for a sandwich!!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣
Eight bucks, I can scrape that together
Oh so the whole two minute tool talk is kinda like the whole “one bite, everybody knows the rules” kinda thing, I get it
I thought these were to be pulled not pushed... I’m probably doing it wrong or maybe I have a Japanese card scraper lol
Do you have an email for fielding generalized questions sir?
Has anyone used a kitchen knife sharpening steel as a burnisher? Seems like it'd work but ???
Card scrapers are cheap AND inexpensive? Sign me up! :p
Card scrapers are cheap, inexpensive... 😂😂
Men I LOVE your channel
Come visit your brothers in Israel🤟
Can you start your next video by saying
“Make no mistake, blood will be spilt, lives will be lost. Fortunes will be made, men will be ruined.”

4th.
First!
I used to love my card scrapers, but my arthritis has gotten to the point where I cant apply the thumb pressure any more. My thumbs hurt just watching this video! So far I can still use my hand planes.
Thumbs down for your pain mate. That's crap. Can you pull and use more finger than thumb?

May I suggest a new name for this segment? "Two minute (or probably more, but maybe less) Tuesday: No Intros Available"
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐱👤👍
I must use them wrong. It burns my thumbs and it cramps my hands... and I still don't get real shavings.
Why is it called 2 minute Tuesday?

You know, I'm starting to suspect these reasons for not having an intro are made up 🤨
The excuses have become the intro, if he ever does have one it’ll ruin the novelty
Come on man...these excuses for the lack of intro have to run out soon!! “Reaching for a sandwich’!! 🤣😂🤣
I am very interested in the undocumented 4 minutes
