Only the stupid secenry most of the palace was destroyed by imperial japan as the cultural heritage adminisatratuon has done a terrible job restoring the place for starters they still left the dirt in the donhwamun woldae and geumcheungyo bridge which was moved by the Japanese slightly north from its original spot was left in place as is from the Japanese colonial era why???? And the stone backseok in injeongjeon courtyard was not restored. If this RUclips channel sees this comment please inform the cultural heritage administration or somewhere in Korea to restore these alterations made during the Japanese colonial era otherwise the soul and tradition and dignity of changdeokgung palace and all other palaces for the matter is dead

This place doesn’t make sense with the palace for one psychics how Is a wooden car gonna driver through that rough rugged and sharp Woldae platform stairs. And for two how is the car gonna fit through the doorway I mean I can see it would fit because of its size but it would feel uncomfortable and clusterphobic and potentially dangerous. Someone please for the love of me give me an answer as to why the cultural heritage administration did the restoration work the way the way they please someone give me answer for once!

This place was built by the Japanese in saying this place was more grand and had many corridors and the empty spaces were filled with corridors and there were buildings to the east. Japan destoryed all this from ever coming back

During colonial rule this place was burned they say the Japanese intentionally started the fire it’s archeictural design looks very Japanese and the Japanese government rebuilt this place during that time with materials dissabmbled from gyeongbokgung it was likely to degrade the palaces archeicture

@@yokolee5243 Fires and the use of Gyeongbokgung Palace materials during the Japanese colonial period are only a small number of incidents. Changdeokgung Palace is the only palace among the five major palaces listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This means that it is a palace whose original form has been well preserved for a long time. Your assessment that Changdeokgung Palace is Japanese-style is extremely absurd and insulting.
