      Hi Harkirat!
      Thank you for the great feedback!
      The data can either be taken from experiment (if available) or from any available concrete stress-strain relationship models (such as Kent and Park, Scott et al, Mander models etc.)
      You may refer to this excel file for data for some grades of concrete along with concrete and damage models:

      The best way to model corroded steel in RCC structures is to use surface-based mechanical contact or surface-based cohesive behavior.

    Have you experienced a problem during the results/post-processing where the loading plates are displaced into the beam and without the beam carrying the load. I ran through defining the model two separate times exactly how it was done in the video but I am still experiencing this problem.

    • @BoldLearning
      @BoldLearning  4 года назад

      Hi Tyler!
      You can easily overcome this issue by enforcing a "Tie" constraint between the surfaces.
      Alternatively, you can assign a "hard contact" between the surface while defining interaction.

    • @tylerdennis6706
      @tylerdennis6706 4 года назад

      @@BoldLearning I had defined 4 total tie conditions per your video (left support plate, right support plate, left loading plate, and right loading plate) and still am experiencing the issue. When going into interactions within the initial and loading step, I do not see an option to assign a hard contact, only "general contact", "surface-to-surface contact", and "self-contact." Thanks.

    • @BoldLearning
      @BoldLearning  4 года назад

      Tyler Dennis
      Hi Tyler
      If assigned perfectly you will likely not run into this issue.
      Make sure you create a tie with master surface as steel plate face and slave surface as the corresponding concrete face.

    Are the values entered for concrete damage plasticity experimentally derived?

    • @BoldLearning
      @BoldLearning  4 года назад +2

      Hi Sidharth!
      No it wasn't.
      The concrete compression stress-strain plot was developed based on the Scott et al (or Modified Kent and Park) Model (1982).
      The concrete tension stress-strain plot was developed based on Wahalathantri (2011) and tension damage based on Birtel and Mark (2006).
      The plasticity parameters chosen are the default values given in the ABAQUS Documentaion.

      @@BoldLearning Hi sir,
      1- Did you convert the compressive stress-strain curve that you obtained form experiments to True stress-strain curve?
      2- In the steel defining material, you did not define the plastic behaviour of the steel from Suboption, as you did in concrete?
      Is that okay for me to ignore the plastic behaviour for steel as you did?

      Hi @@mohammedalsidran9773 !
      Thank you for the feedback!
      1. Constitutive relationship of steel: The model has assumed ideal behavior (theoretical, i.e. elastic-perfectly plastic)
      2. Plastic property: Plastic property is considered. It is assigned by "Plastic" option in Material properties.
