"You cannot say you love your country only when you win."
    That was a strong sentence.

    • @aliasalias8681

I only love my country when I win. I said it. Doesn’t imply violence like JOE seems to think it does. Been a long time since an elected representative made me love my country. In fact, I’m not sure anyone’s ever done it before. It may be that all of my affection for the US has nothing to do with the country itself and solely the propaganda that’s been pumped out constantly throughout my life,. I only remember the US becoming more of a shit hole. More peoples rights being peeled back, stealing from the poor to give to the rich, lying us into a war to kill people who have nothing against us, throwing our young people into a meat grinder for corporate profits. He’s right in a sense, I can’t say I love my country only when I win. Because in truth, I don’t love my country. Even if I won, had a magic wand, and waived all the policies I would see done to improve the lives of my fellow Americans into being, I’m sure I wouldn’t love my country. After all, they’d immediately set about tearing it all down.

@@Zatarra69 you got me curious, so I looked it up and found this quote:
"By definition, a republic is a representative form of government that is ruled according
to a charter, or constitution, and a democracy is a government that is ruled according
to the will of the majority. Although these forms of government are often confused,
they are quite different. The main difference between a republic and a democracy is
the charter or constitution that limits power in a republic, often to protect the
individual's rights against the desires of the majority.
If your confused about what we have here in America,... its a Republic. " I pledge
allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the R E P U B L I C for
      which it stands.
Anytime government decides it is necessary or desirable to test the boundaries of a
constitutional right that it should only be done with caution and with great respect for
those constitutional boundaries. Further, it should only be done if the benefit to be
gained is so great and certain that it far outweighs the damage done by the
constriction of individual liberty. While many of the provisions of the new laws have
surface appeal, it is far from certain that all, or even many, of them will have any
significant effect in reducing gun violence, which is the presumed goal of all of us."
      -John C. Aldieri
So the way I understand it is that a strict Republic go by the books and a strict Democracy would ask the majority on everything. I think every Democracy in the world does a hybrid of the two.

This is such a small thing but the way one (former) candidate talks about his WIFE is so night and day versus the other guy. None of the constant barrage of "my beautiful wife, my wife is hot" which has a tone of "look what I pulled the rest of you could never." Instead: "This woman still takes my breath away. The absolute biggest thing by far was cutting Aegon, an incredibly important character from the books, which ruined Varys' character (his whole masterplan in the books is to install Aegon as king, not this "good of the realm" bullshit), fucked over Dany's character and the Essos storyline in general, and forced them to keep Cersei alive far past the point she should have been in the story in order to replace Aegon's role in the endgame. This along with cutting 90% of the Dorne and Iron Islands storylines left them completely screwed in the endgame, which combined with their inability to write anything decent without novel to reference gave us season 8

It's literally random people you've never heard of sitting there and telling your parents/loved ones to their faces "This is really bad. You shouldn't like this. This is a weak speech. Blah blah blah". If it's a Trumk speech they play it in full. If it's a Kamala or Walz speech they cut to their "Panelists" to "Analyze" the speech.

While I see the point, there is also something to be said for the value of experience, contacts developed over years, and the ability to get things done. Joe Biden is the perfect example if this…the amount of bipartisan legislation he was able to pass in 4 years in a political climate where one party thinks the word bipartisan is evil…is nothing short of miraculous, and I don’t think anyone else could have done it. Thank you Joe. 💙
