Pepple who already watched many of shadow's videos may not raise such a question, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't have raised that question. To answer it, it's because shadow understood the psych of hoplite players. The enchanting table had not been used to trap frequently, so people didn't see it as suspicious. Many players also enchanted without hiding too, so it was not a rare sight. And the enchantments could be a really good buff on all your stuffs from attack to defense, so it was definitely valuable to steal. That's why i thought it's normal that the first player shadow trapped using that echant table trap worked perfectly

Also the carpet is so they dont fall in betwren of dripstones dripstones deal 2x fall damage but if you land in betwren them you take the normal amount of damage carpets allow it so you always take 2x damage

Carpets can be used to hide such blocks which is good for trapping.
The reason why they needed carpets is carpets stop players from falling through the gaps between dripstone, which they might survive without the extra damage from the dripstone.
Note: this is team mode, they're not cross teaming.
