AWESOME! What a great story that of these best friends who become enemies but who despite everything still have some love for each other... It's so heartbreaking and this brilliant edit nails it!
Two of the best written female characters ever in tv show history period. They’ve got the opposite personality to each other but they are so deep and interesting. Love how their stories are told. Both great and loving parents, amazing persons and have wonderful attitudes. Viserys was lucky to have Alicent and Daemon is lucky to have Rhaenyra.
I would argue about "best written female characters ever in tv show history period", tbh 😅 Despite my love for Alicent, I find her inconsistent (in a bad way). Alicent in episode 6 and Alicent in episode 9 feel like two completely different people. Idk, maybe the problem is that several screenwriters worked on the character at once? I mean, each of them probably had their own opinion about the character and their own ideas about how to lead the storyline. And Rhaenyra... I like her book version much more. She had such a bright ambiguous personality, but for some reason they decided to get rid of this in the series. Rhaenyra seemed to have been washed clean of her vanity, her temper, her ambitions, to a creaky sheen. I would even say that she's sterile, like needles and syringes in a doctor's office. And that makes her boring. Tbh, I started editing this video when episode 3 just came out. I started doing this because young Rhaenyra and Alicent were wonderful. And I like their relationship dynamics a lot more, because I find it more... logical, I guess.
@@bazingonatorI feel like you are being a little bit critical but I see your point. I haven't had a such a good connection to two characters like them. Not read the books (not much of a book reader in general) so I don't know what's going to happen. You have characters like Helaena who's overbearing, weird, hypocritical and annoying. Then Rhaenys who's just a copy/paste of Catelyn from GOT and makes extremely stupid decisions like her so far. But Alicent and Rhaenyra are just really well written persons. They are complex and have interesting aspects to them. Feel free to disagree but I think they are really good written female characters yes. They are definitely two of the strongest ladies by far. And most of the blame what happened in the 6th episode was on Larys not Alicent. He decided to murder Lyonel and Harwin in cold blood it was his idea especially seeing how he deals with punishment. Rhaenyra is wise and Alicent too so they share a lot of similarities in terms of philosophy and psychology even if their personalities doesn't match exactly. Their chemistry is really good despite having a tense relationship as the story goes on. I wasn't trying to push any agendas or propaganda just wanted to share my love for these two characters. Hopefully it wasn't a lot to take in or I came across as prejudiced. Thank you for making this lovely video. Happy new year.
@@Sigurjon96 You're right, I'm quite critical and meticulous viewer. Although I do enjoy the show, I think it's the best medieval fantasy we've had since Game of Thrones ended. And I understand why you like Alicent and Rhaenyra. Thanks for your character analysis! Happy New Year to you too. I hope it passes quickly, and the wait for the second season of House of the Dragon will not be so tedious 😅
Great edit I hope Alicent thinks of her friendship with Rhaenyra during her last days It would be epic if Alicent and Rhaenyra fly on Syrax in the afterlife in the last season
Yeah, it’s also surprising Alicent is trying to be gracious despite Rhaenyra's lies, manipulation, unfounded allegations of improper care for Viserys, no guilt for Aemond's gouged out eye. I guess they have really STRONG feelings for each other 🌚

I wouldn't call Alicent a loving parent lol

Honestly it’s surprising Rhaenyra is trying to be gracious at the dinner and final episode on the bridge after being stabbed by Alicent!
