A detective in yellow trench coat is on the hunt in a rainy night but he knows that this time either he or his target can be hunted. This song is the detective's kiss for his lover before the operation.
Imagining the opening sequence of a 007/James Bond camp reboot set at the end of 70s with modern sensibilities and starring Andrew Koji in the lead while this is playing - priceless 🥰
@@SylverstoneKhandr Thank you for the correction! It was the spell check. (Also, holy shit! Did you mean Japanese 80's jazz fusion? Why call it Vaporwave?
@@educarvalho6516 I think vaporwave was the naming scheme at the time, because initially, the genre started as an offshoot of chillwave - meant as a sort of ironic genre based on 90's internet culture and surrealistic visuals of the era. I think once we had more of the 80's (and 90's) J-pop and jazz fusion sound blended into the scene, it would then offshoot into other genres - one of them being future funk (which was my further exposure to artists like Junko Yagami, Tatsuro Yamashita, Anri, and more), and most of 80's J-pop was coalesced into a genre referred to as Japanese city pop. I hope that explains things a bit more - I cribbed a few notes from Wikipedia with my own (limited) knowledge!
Goddang she's so good, her vocals are amazing, literally one of the very few singers I've ever seen that has been able to produce their vocals live and have it sound better than the studio on more than a couple occasions.
The first time I listened to this was about a week ago, I put it on replay 3 times, and that was it. I haven't listened to it since, yet interestingly I woke up today with this song in my head. Especially her aaaa. Such a powerful voice.

“Water color of rain (Light blue of Rain)”(MIZUIRO NO AME) Junko Yagami ※Lyrics: Yoshiko Miura / Composer: Junko Yagami / Arranger: Masaaki Omura (Rough lyrics translations) Ah Water color of rain (mizuiro no ame) The rain continues to fall as if hugging my shoulders. Ah, everything should be gone. The love between two of us should be swept away without leaving anything behind. You were kind You pretended not to notice my betrayal behavior. Until a temporary whim passes Forget it, forget it, you loved me. Ah Water color of rain The rain continues to fall as if hugging my shoulders. Ah, forget all that. The love between two of us should be swept away without leaving anything behind. If you had said something condemning me, I might have listened to you honestly. Remembering the good old days when we were just smiling Cause you were hurting, you had sad eyes. We can't be with that day anymore. Ah Water color of rain The rain continues to fall as if hugging my shoulders. Ah, everything should be gone. The love between two of us should be swept away without leaving anything behind. ※“MIZUIRO NO AME " was released on September 5, 1978 in Japan. It was Junko Yagami's fifth single. * Sales recorded 600,000 copies. Yagami's the biggest hit song. *Included in Junko Yagami's second album “True Me of the Naked Face”(SUGAO NO WATASHI) released on April 5, 1979. * She won the Best Song Award at the "8th YAMAHA Popular Song Contest" held on October 1974 for her self-composed song "Monologue on a Rainy Day". She was only 16 years old high school student at the time. The following year, in May 1975, she participated in the 9th YAMAHA Popular Song Contest consecutively, winning the Outstanding Song Award for "To the Land of Happiness". One female high school girl from Aichi Prefecture achieved the feat of winning the prize for the second consecutive year. This led to her professional debut as SSW. On January 1978, at the age of 20, she officially made her debut as a professional singer with the single "Memories Are Too Beautiful". The song suddenly became a hit selling 120,000 copies. On June 25 of the same year, she released her debut album "Memories Are Too Beautiful", which became a hit album at No. 5. * By the way, name of “Junko” means "Pure Woman", and “Yagami” is her real name and it means "Eight Gods". .

that's what I call singing a song from the very heart...
