  • Fairtex Boxing Gloves Review - Fairtex BGV19
    Always Popular the Fairtex Muay Thai boxing gloves range is one that many see as some of the best in their class. Gear Guru Alex Wright @Endof73 reviews the difference between the classic BGV1 and the all new BGV19.
    The latest glove from Fairtex improves on the classic #BGV1 universal model with an improved hand compartment that is more tight fitting and compact than usual, with slightly more padding on the knuckle area. This combined with an improved thumb position similar the the #BGV16 and the inclusion of a grip bar makes these one of the finest compact tight-fit gloves available.
    Constructed of premium quality leather with Fairtex's signature three-layered foam system for excellent hand and knuckle protection and shock disbursement.

    • @ale2793
      @ale2793 5 месяцев назад

      Id say so yes, initially its tight but once you have ‘worn it in’ the leather will loosen slightly.
      Bear in mind though, this is a fitted glove. But like I say, after it has been used/broken in a few times you should be fine with a thin wrap.

    I think for me the bgv1 is what I’d look for in a bag glove since I use a lot of knuckle protection in my wrap anyway. The bgv19 looks more along the lines of what I’d go for in a sparring glove.

    Thanks for the review. I used the BGV1 and found the padding too thin. Hitting the bag with those became uncomfortable after a long training session. Apparently the 19 have more padding. Anyone have tried the 19 or can suggest gloves with thick padding?

    Do you prefer fairtex bgv19 over a twins bgvl 3 glove? Because now I have the twins bgvl3 and have the idea that the finger compartment maybe a little too small for me. Im 186 cm and 101 kg. I like the padding for sparring but my only con is the finger compartment. You think the fairtex is better?

      Its not the worlds best Big Guy glove. Fairtex make SMALL size gloves. this is an improvement on BGV1 but if you're a big guy I'd use RAJA, REVGEAR (THAI MADE VERSION) or maybe even a none thai glove like our friends at Union. I nearly broke my left hand boxing for a year in BGV1

    now just I got a set of discount BGV1 tight fits, you're spot on about the light padding, I wouldn't spar more than eh.. 50% with these. Compared to my Rivals and Boons, it's not so nice hitting your teammates. That being said, a month ago when I was at the Fairtex booth, they had these new model of softer, sparring only gloves, but I don't think they're on the website yet.

I'm about 100 kg and prefer a bulky glove with a thick layer of padding or else my knuckles will be toasted after a hard session. I do think fairtex quality is one of the best. • @FSPRO
      @FSPRO  3 года назад +6

      Boon gloves are excellent and an interesting blend between a Thai glove and boxing. They are too stiff generally for most actual boxers but for Muay Thai a great glove. No I definitely do not think Twins are a gold standard for boxing. They are the quintessential Muay Thai glove but are definitely not a great boxers glove. Too tight and padding in the wrong place for boxers.
