The Klonoa games are near and dear to my heart as they are my mom's favorite games and one of my first ones back in the ps1. In fact I still have that very same ps1 and game. For the longest time I remember having to clear games in one sitting or have to start over because the memory card had broken down and I just assumed it was like arcades until my mom noticed and got a new memory card. I'm eager to revisit these gems and I hope they do well enough to justify new Klonoa in the future!

The lack of advertisements in the west will hurt it but I do think Klonoa will sell well enough to get the GBA games remade. I would assume the next remake collection has to do well in order to get Klonoa 3 but time will tell.

Klonoa is one of my absolute favourite platformers and when I saw they announced it I totally lost it, I truly hope he makes a come back, not only that but the story is so amazing and the end wiped me off my feet.
I've downplayed the story so that people who get it truly get surprised by how good it actually is! I remember cheering for Klonoa coming back myself!
Klonoa's getting a Nendoroid figure later this year too! Fingers crossed hes finally going to catch on more and more people can enjoy these wonderful games and hopefully more titles in the future
I really hope this collection does well, and any videos made on this underappreciated franchise are greatly appreciated. The more eyes on Klonoa, the better. Klonoa 1 and 2 are two of my favourite platformers, and arguably the best 2.5D platformers ever made.
Klonoa 1 especially is a masterpiece. It's pure fun from start to finish, with clever level design, good use of its 2.5D style, no superficial padding or filler content, great music, and an emotionally powerful story that sticks with you long after the credits roll. The best way I can describe these games' stories is if Key/Visual Arts tried their hand at a platformer.
I would love a third entry in this series, but only if they're able to maintain the quality standard set by the previous two games.
Admittedly I’m unfamiliar with the state of its original developers, but there’s certainly some excitement coming from Bandai Namco with regards to this series!
I bought it on Steam and physical copy for Switch. I only played the demo for Klonoa 2 about 20 years ago, and just the demo alone made me fall in love with this game, but only now I am actually able to play the full experience. So when I got to Klonoa 2 after beating 1, I was immediately bombarded with Nostalgia. That first map (and the water slide map a bit later in the game) has been living in my brain for 20 years. So happy to see this series again, and I really hope a Klonoa 3 will happen this time!

I’ve been a Klonoa fan for years at this point, and I got it yesterday/at midnight on my Switch and I couldn’t be happier.
I even own some of the original games like Klonoa 2: LV and Moonlight Museum for the WonderSwan.
Apparently this game is selling well on steam as of writing this, as I think it surpassed Elden Ring on Steam’s Top Sellers list.
I didn't believe the one dude who said it outsold Elden Ring, so I'm appropriately eating crow right now as I type this! That's amazing!
I played the first Klonoa and the GBA games on Wii U after Caddicarus did a video on the PS1 version, but I've never had a chance to play Klonoa 2 until now. This is one of the most exciting releases of the year for me.

I got the digital version for the switch and from the first levels I’m quite impressed with it. It’s too bad I didn’t know about the series because I was so young so I have know idea about it but I’m going to like it so much.
I love the Klonoa games, and I am so, so happy they're available on every platform now! Fingers crossed this will be the little guy's big break, as I feel the audience and state of the world of gaming is the most optimal it's ever been for these titles

Wow $40 for both games is a lot more affordable than the $800 for Door to Phantomile and the $150 for Lunatea's Veil. This makes me so happy that they made theses games more accessible! Klonoa is one of my favorite platformers ever!

I played the original via the psp port on the vita and absolutely loved the gameplay, charming visuals, and surprisingly emotional story which the cute gibberish voice acting really enhanced. I'd pick this collection up but there are so many games stretching my time and wallet :(. Maybe someday soon, since I've always wanted to try the sequel out

God words cannot DESCRIBE how excited and happy i was to see these remakes i remember playing 2 way back in The day and this was the first time ive played and beaten 1 on legit hardware and ive never been happier with a remake in my life i love that little bunny cat guy and i hope to god bandai considers bringing him back for more, newer, and fresher games in the future/

Gotta add this in here: Phantasy Reverie Series has in both games the so far shortest Windbullet range that you can find when comparing to their other versions of these two games. Easy mode restores the ranges to their exact values from the original two games. Making it less of an easy mode and more of a normal mode.
We still own Klonoa 1 and 2, and have an original PS2 hooked up to one of the monitors in our house, so we can play the old originals any time! My oldest son is very much into gaming history and retro gaming, and he loves these two games. Despite having the ability to play the originals, it sounds like the remakes are worth picking up, especially at that $40 price point!
Especially if they're using it to measure interest for a follow-up! I was actually surprised at the price point, given that I remember nabbing Klonoa 2 at $50 on the PS2 decades ago!
You and Switchup are pretty much the only people who are talking about these remakes/re-releases. Picked them up because I missed them in my youth. Pretty decent so far!

Here's a fun story:
When I was very young, around 7 years old, my mom rented Klonoa 2 from Blockbuster. It was my first experience with the series, I remember being fascinated by the world and characters, but I couldn't read very well so I couldn't really tell what was going on. I got stuck on one puzzle in the Maze of Memories where there's a room that goes in a circle and you can flip it by going through doors. I tried to figure it out for hours and it actually made me cry from frustration (I was just a kid). But the next day we had to return it.
I forgot about the game over the years but it was always in the back of my mind. I couldn't remember what it was called, but I remembered little things like, what the first level looked like, small moments of cut scenes, and of course the puzzle I got stuck on. I was starting to think I dreamed it, or I was just remembering wrong (Appropriate considering themes of the games).
But here we are, around 20 years or so later when I rediscovered Klonoa and got a sort of nostalgia whiplash. Already played the games on the collection, loved them. When it came to replaying Klonoa 2, there were things I recalled as I played, some things that I didn't remember, yet still felt familiar. It was a really surreal experience lol.
Anyway it was great reconnecting with a missing piece of my childhood, and here's to hoping we can get a Klonoa 3. 😁
With the small buzz this is getting, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask or think that we'll be getting a third game! I can see it being a digital only title or a limited physical release one, but anything's possible at this point!
Thank you for sharing your story too! I think one of the most fascinating things about growing up is that despite the falsity of memory, what rings honest is our emotions and how we felt at the time and how we resonate with that years later. It's truly magical.
I love Klonoa already and bought this. I never played the first one bit I played the 2nd game so much. Funny story though. The game I used to have (Klonoa 2) would disappear and then reappear. Funnily enough, it would be at the same place where we stopped playing the game
Didn't know this series even existed until my bro read an absolutely GLOWING review of the game on Wii and we eventually found it and picked it up. As I watched my bro play it I slowly began to fall in love with the characters and world (which made that "one" scene at the bridge all the more earth-shatteringly shocking) and it wasn't long before I took over and played through it repeatedly.
A few years later we both soon looked into the sequel and it wasn't long before we scoured the internet for an affordable copy (though considering the Wii game had English voice-acting I wasn't sure the gibberish would be something I'd be fond of) and eventually got lucky and immediately bought it.
Fast-forward years later and I downloaded the two Klonoa games for GBA on my Wii U and worked to 100% both, I played the Wii remake of the original to death, and as for the Lunatea's Veil...well let's just say it is unequivocally one of the BEST PLATFORMERS I HAVE EVER PLAYED PERIOD (also one of the few games I 100% that take some serious work where I enjoyed every moment and would happily go through the trouble to do again)!!!
So yeah, I'm MEGA hyped to see the dream traveler FINALLY make a well-deserved comeback after all this time to the point where I consistently checked on my Switch to try to pre-order (which I AM upset that Nintendo never even put it on the Coming Soon section) and bought it the very night it was released! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Have Klonoa 1 on PS1 managed to get physical copy of it before the price got crazy and got Klonoa 2 dirt cheap in 2008 at an EB games haha. This collection is so good would recommend it to anyone that enjoys platformers. I do have a few minor gripes with door to phantomile but thats probably just cause I have so much nostalgia/love for the PS1 version (I replay it once a year).
From the looks of it the games been selling really well and Klonoa getting a Nendoroid figure is a good sign!

Klonoa remake was one of my favorite games on the Wii and the second one being a ps2 game got me to try that console. Personally I really wish they would’ve included the handheld games on this but the main console games are definitely the best. Here’s to hoping we get a new adventure with klonoa and hewpoe!
Klonoa 2 was one of my first game I played on a ps2 at my cousins house. Funny enough we rented it and crash, and thought crash sucked after a few hours, unlike the old ones on ps1 so we popped that in and we’re very confused. Didn’t read the text and found out how to double jump after like 10 minutes of trying to get up the first double Jump location. After that moment of realization we were hooked. It’s actually the first game I ever played all night in my life and I cherish that memory. I remember drawing him and talking about it all day the next day with my grandma.

Well enough for a 3rd game, I'd say! With everyone trying to mine their old libraries for good games, I think Klonoa's a great one to do a new game with!
I spent many nights high AF playing this.
Oh yes this little guy. I only know him through references in the Tales series, namely a figure reference in TOV and his iconic WOOHOO catchphrase from.......Ugh Dawn of the New World. But still, it looks like this will be a soild rerelease of two classic games and no sign of half assing it like in other rereleases. That and this series can be VERY........cough cough dark cough cough but overall, I may give this collection a go especially if the games are only 10 hours long so nice look into the games Alex!

I know of the Klonoa games back on the Wii but have never played them. From the video it looks like a fun palate cleanser game after completing a long JRPG. Will check it out in the future.

I love klonoa i have 100% the game 3 times on PS1 and love the 2nd game aswell
Klonoa is a great platform franchise. Played the first version on PS1 and It stole my heart. Such simple, but adorable adventure. I remember geting emotional while watching the ending scene (lol). I believe this is a flaw in this collection, as the scenes (opening and ending) in the first game were replaced by in-game cutscenes and don't have the same impact.
The PS2 game is great as well and deliver more moments of fun.
I also recommend the GBA games. They're more challeging, both on the action and puzzle aspects. They should be included in their original aspect on this collection, as I don't think Namco would produce a remake for these games.
Thanks for the comment! As someone who played the originals, I can see where you’re coming from in the cutscenes. There’s a magic to the original that has this “little engine that could” kind of feel to it, especially with the limits they worked with. I’m just happy that more people can play these games and not have to spend hundreds to do so!

I've played the 1st Gameboy Advanced game and it was cool, I'm not the best at puzzle platformers though so I looked up walkthroughs near the end.

When I was a kid I was mostly into platformers & fighters.. Nowadays I got into the rpg thing.. I try to be well balanced as far as my collection however..
This Klonoa remake although I thought it was slightly overpriced was just too adorable to pass up.. And somehow seems perfect for these long summer days!
I got it back to back with the Smurf game being I have fond memories of playing the Colecovision version..

Believe it or not. I did purchase the games in Japanese Nitendo Switch version. I didn't regret buying the games, even though they were expensive, becuase they were the reminiscence of the marvelous and adorable ps1 and ps2 characters. Hopefully, the developer will make the new serie of the game.

lost my mind when i saw this was a thing! never really had the full game growing up but i had the demo on an old ps1 demo disk that came with Ridge Racer Type 4 and i would spend hours in that demo. had no idea what was happening the whole time and i loved it. i do wish the cutscenes were taken directly from the ps1 version instead of the wii but either way this is a gem
They did all of that to create visual consistency between both games in the package, so having the PS1 cutscenes wouldn’t have achieved their goal 🙁
That being said, the package is awesome! I just wish we got a physical edition in the US!

Klonoa, I played 2 on PS2 back in 2018 and I was so close to beating the game but the penultimate level was such a massive difficulty spike that I could never actually get to the end, you had to redo so much content that it was ridiculous. Klonoa 1 I did beat on an emu years back, and I can't remember it that well tbh.
Good thing this version has a no lives options, making 2 actually beatable for me.

I only ever got to play the GBA games, but Klonoa has been an icon of my childhood since... Well, my childhood. I never had a Playstation, but I always wanted to play Klonoa when I saw the cute but cool character passing by the section in my local Gamestop. I never knew about the Wii release as a kid, which was a shame, so I just kinda put it off and played the GBA platformers. But finally having a chance to play the original games that grabbed my attention all those years ago... The games that likely cemented my love for the Kemono artstyle... You can't believe how stoked I am.
Also why no physical release in US :( I'll likely order a Japanese copy for my shelf but still... It would have meant a lot walking into gamestop to buy this game for me haha.
No physical release killed me a little, especially when I saw that the UK got KLONOA PLUSHIES!
Play Asia has disc based copies in English.

I became an instant fan with the PS2. I loved mascot platformers from the Sega Genesis and the PS2 doesn't have a lot.

i don't wanna be that guy but i wish they added the originals in the game too those old school sprites are still charming, but yh this release was great, dident have much money as a kid so i was stuck with klonoa for a long time while everyone was playing crash bandicoot and mario lol and i was happy

I started playing the first Klonoa over twenty years ago. Stopped because it annoyingly did not support the analog sticks in the ps1.

I remember when I first played klonoa it was a demo I had R4 ridge racer type 4 and the game came with 2 disc and that disc was ridge racer turbo mode and it also had some other namco games like tekken 3,ace combat 3,time crisis,and of course klonoa when I first saw it I honestly thought it was a pokemon game lol

Oh no I was a kid at that time but I've always wanted the full game back then but I never did I'm into racing games from what i heard the ps1 copy is pretty pricey

Be happy you don't live in Australia! We deal with similar issues as in the UK, but also have _even Higher_ Prices for Games - we have to pay around AU$70 to get this game!
Never mind I think that's just DLC that was just confused I don't know why they just don't say DLC instead of saying special bundle they should say DLC bundle it's very confusing I don't even think I would have had the game if I would have bought the $20 bundle it makes no sense to use confusing words
I bought 2 copies switch n xbox to support but ps1 version still better. Frame rate on switch is choppy and cut scenes dont look very good. Still cheapest way to play these games originals expensive now

Frankly i can't recommend this remaster to anyone until they fix a very unforgivable and big issue:in the Door to phantomile remaster all the ingame music,for some reason,is in mono,while the ps1 original version it was in stereo quality..very bad,considering its price

They need to expand the series and establish new characters with their own unique gameplay elements like with Mario, Sonic and Megaman. That’s why this collection needs to sell well so that NB can do that with sequels.
Bought it on steam, refunded it after 45 minutes... Sorry, but when you replace the cute and charming CGI cutscenes from the original with expressionless models done with in-game graphics you lose me. Also, no cel shading option for Klonoa 2? What a fucking joke...

I cannot wait to play this game! This is the first time Klonoa 2 has been available on anything other than the PS2.
And yes, good lord I hope this leads to a current gen Klonoa 3.
The GBA games will more likely be remade first before that happens
I sincerely hope so! I don’t think they expect to sell a lot, so I’m hoping more people will try the games out!
