    An absolute banger of an episode! Film nerds have been satiated and satisfied by the river of film knowledge that is Tracey Letts. This is what this show is all about.

    My youngest brother loved to complain about Fennessy. But he listened to most of his podcasts. He loved filmmaking and I used to smile when he complained about Sean's takes. There was a lot of love in those complaints. He passed this year yet I suspect he's loving this podcast from wherever he is.

      i really only discovered the rewatchables within the last couple months, and i like sean fennessy a lot, he kinda reminds me of when i first found dan murrell on youtube, i fully agree with his opinions like at least 80% of the time lol

    Yeah, I have 5000 some movies and I sometimes think about how I couldn't possibly watch all of these regularly but also the other side of my brain tells me to shut up and get that new Shaw Bros set from Arrow.
    Though you can actually collect movies pretty inexpensively. I mean, you probably aren't going to be buying a lot of boutique label releases for cheap all the time but you can often find a lot of good deals buying used from thrift stores and flea markets and places like that. It's probably partially a good thing that I don't have a lot of money because my media buying habits would be absurd. I've mostly built my collection from flea market shopping, though I'll still jump on a Criterion, Arrow, Kino, or Warner Archive sale whenever I can.

    Love the conversation physical media is very important. I'm 24 and have a big movie and record collection, among other stuff.. i think the death of physical media are slightly exaggerated. i dont think it will go anywhere. I agree with sean this is weirdly a golden age a lot of these somewhat obscure 60s movies that have been known about but a lot of them havent been released since vhs we can now see them at least and make our own judgements about them. i also agree that more people my age should understand that streamers won't keep your movies. They change constantly..

    • @6thwilbury2331
      @6thwilbury2331 Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, "death" is definitely an exaggeration. But it's definitely become a niche market. I always visit the Bluray section when I go to places like Target or Best Buy for other things, and I can't help but notice how small that section has become.
      Then again, when I was your age, finding music on vinyl was nearly impossible unless you went to used records stores or specialty/indie outlets. Fast forward to now, and LPs dominate the shelves with CDs taking a relative backseat.
