Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and producer who plays The piano, harp, percussion and Kalimba. She released her first album in 2016 and has released 33, i think, original songs and many covers. She is the recipient of 2 Spellman awards "Norwegian Grammy" .
"When I was 9 I wrote most of this song. I watched someone brave and kind not demanding the respect and love they deserved.

AURORA actually gave me back my love for Norwegian music.
I had completely lost hope after years of shitty wanna be american style hip- hop and EDM over saturation and stopped looking into new Norwegian artists, but then i found her live performance of Runaway at the Nobel concert and now i`m back to checking out new stuff and being proud of the many talented artists from my country.
Yes, her personality shines in her live performances. So much fun to watch.

Hi Liam. Must congratulate you for finding AURORA. The artist with triple E. Empath, Emotion and Expression. No one beats her on the fingers there. She has a unique sense of storytelling and inclusion. Aurora started writing melodies when she was 6 and at the age of nine she started putting lyrics on them. A full-length record and two long EPs several fantastic covers so you can get a lot of work. Her music is very cinematic and has been in several films. One thing to keep in mind is that her live performances are preferable. Not that the original music videos are bad (on the contrary) but it is in the performances that she shines through (the feelings and her commitment and that she constantly changes a bit in the music which makes them mostly unique songs) probably nagged about it. Really like your reaction to her. The person you were trying to remember who she kind of sounds like is probably Bjork, an Icelandic singer.
Bjork was in the audience during AURORA's performance at KEXP in Iceland. Aurora has also been compared to Enya and Kate Bush

I was going to say the exact same thing! When I first discovered her (yesterday - I can't believe it!!!) that's the first person who came to mind
Aurora is a 24 year old Artist/Performer/Story Teller/ Dancer/Producer/Song Writer. the whole package basically. She’s a lovely free soul; super empathetic& emotional. Her voice is ethereal(especially live) She’s heavily inspired by human interactions & nature. She helps produce most her music and has final say about everything that goes into it. She moves and dances like the music is flowing through her when she performs, an absolute treat to watch! I recommend either Churchyard or All Is Soft Inside both live @ KEXP to see how energetic she gets performing. Excited for your Aurora journey :) Also, every song of hers is super different, you’ll always be surprised by what she can deliver every time!

Great reaction. i feel like your next reaction to Aurora should be her music video of «Runaway». She wrote that song when she was 11 years old and that was her big breakthrough song and the song/video that inspired Billie Eilish to start her career.

The KEXP concert in Iceland, the Nidarosdomen concert in a cathedral with orchestral ensemble and chorus, the HAIK concert in a forest, and the Bergen Philharmonic concert. Aurora is simply a stunning human being. She is so very true to herself. Interesting to hear people may call her "weird", I see someone more genuine and authentic than most, which captivates the soul. I feel badly for people who see her as weird, maybe their antennas are clogged.

Aurora and Angelina Jordan are my 2 favorite artist. Both from Norway. Very talented and emotional artists. Nobody can make you feel music the way these 2 young artists can.
