I disagree completly, India's long term success will come from its "chaotic system" bcz it in the end balances things out. India had the worst start from where the British left it in 1947 but has comes leaps and bounds in 75 years just considering its diversity and the challenges it faces. A Presidential system would be too strong at the center and that itself would cause more issues and negate any decision-making benefits; the nightmare the US two party system is pretty clear, they are always in election mode. Indian democracy needs more deepening, it is one of the better-written and adaptable constitutions. Doesn’t matter which party wins, it will need to have a democratic mandate across a vast and diverse country

It's amazing how people have been convinced to believe dictatorship is better than democracy. Illiteracy is really the biggest threat to our country. Honestly, media and youtubers are the bigger reason i would say, people are used to listening to other peoples opinion instead of critically thinking and forming their own opinions.

    • @skuller2032

Why do you think democracy is better than dictatorship? It depends on a lot of factors, many countries like entire Europe and us democracies works because the people are on the same page and the population are small. But in countries like china and India, where the population are too damn big and they are divided in multiple castes, democracy cannot work. Like, if 10 years later, a new political party emerges which is picture perfect, it has honest politicians and has 0% corruption, there are people in this country who will not vote for such perfect party only because it does not have netas of their caste, now explain me how democracy is going to solve this? In dictatorship, such party doesn't even have to worry about elections, they just have to work and work and work

This can be a dictatorship like China or a democracy like the USA. For china, dictatorship of CCP has worked well, for USA the democratic Presidential system have been successful.
Even India has been able to make rapid decisions only when a strong central govt is present. Take the example of PM Indira Gandhi during 1971 war & Operation Blue Star, PM Rajiv Gandhi during Sri Lankan Civil War or PM Modi at present.

Plus India is a complex nation, not every state is capable of existing as an independent federal unit. In some states this could even be outright dangerous from the lens of security.

The crux of this podcast is that, he wants India to be a dictatorship under the current regime, but he can't say that openly because it will not be a politically correct argument to make. That is why he mentions the presidential system, which is much closer to the dictatorial system than the parliamentary system that we currently have. This is nothing new and is a very common argument you hear from the supporters of the current regime.
I'm not sure if he realizes this, but the thing with changing the system is that, it will be the same for any other regime and not just the one he supports.
Maybe he just assumes that India will be under the current regime indefinitely, which is a pretty stupid thing to assume.

Why would any Indian accept a appointed Gujarati dictator?
Why would any Marathi or a person from UP, Bihar, Bengal, Punjabi accept a Gujarati dictator (this could apply to anyone from any state)
Why would any South Indian accept a Hindi speaker as head of state
See how democratic way PM Modi(a kid once who sell tea on railway station) is selecting as the prime minister every person in India can say I elected this person he represents (me) no matter who you are from it doesn't matter if you are from North East South India or any other state from India you can say that proudly🥰

We would not have rights to say anything ..yet to improve our democracy we should change some laws to make our Democratic system beautiful like .. should implement harsh and rapid punishment to a rapist because it's a major problem we are going with ..and providing fertilisers seeds etc at the lowest price to our farmers because if primary sector will improve ultimately secondary and tertiary will grow 🔥

Umm, not making much sense. Unlike China and Russia, India is one of the most heterogeneous States and most complex plural societies in the world. So, Constitution-makers adopted the parliamentary system as it offers greater scope for giving representation to various section, interests and regions in the government. This promotes a national spirit among the people and builds a united India.
Also talking about quick decision making power and stability, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar once sais that ‘a democratic executive must satisfy two conditions: stability and responsibility. Unfortunately, it has not been possible so far to devise a system which can ensure both in equal degree. The American system gives more stability but less responsibility. The British system, on the other hand, gives more responsibility but less stability. The Draft Constitution in recommending the parliamentary system of Executive has preferred more responsibility to more stability.'
We have different set of issues which can be better handled with Parliamentary system of democracy. There is no need to replace it with Presidential System.

People need to understand that India's administrative system was formed in the times when Nehru was getting honeytrapped by Edwina i.e. there was high amount of external influence when it was being framed . And it was not put to vote by the people which is not so democratic ig.
Any coloniser would only like lay the path of destruction when it leaves.
And this is exactly the reason why there is so much "chaos" in the system. It takes a long time to pass laws and by the time it is passed , the enemy has already taken appropriate measures to guard themselves .
There is nothing Indian in the Indian Constitution and it does not work for the Indians . You need a system with less headache for reducing the chaos and those changes have to come now , not in the times when your country was in the hands of a person who wanted to build a road across India connecting both Pakistans .
P.S. : I see people in the comments talking about some sort of diversity..idk what diversity has to do with this , probably some sort of thing that was put in your mouths by the education system.
But there has been 75 years of celebration of diversity, and still people know nothing about the history , culture of the North East (some think they are Chinese lmao), the south has formed it's own narrative of being a different race altogether.
So it is pretty clear that this system has nothing to do with diversity at least.

"Chaos" like in many presidential republics.
Bolsonaro and Trump stormed their country's congresses.
Erdogan who had sh¡tty Turkish economy (he shifted from parliamentary to presidential).
      Comedian PRESIDENT Zelenskyy running Ukraine.
France burning to the ground when Macron raised the retirement age without parliamentary majority.
Presidential is the system used by almost all failing dictatorships around the world like Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Syria, Algeria, Tunisia, Nigeria, Congo, Zimbabwe, etc.
Or like the US where Biden had to fight the GOP house of representatives.
Coups, revolutions, civil wars, and other instabilities happen more often on presidential republics than parliamentary democracies and it's already proven in history.
Also you complain about laws too slow to pass? Well guess what, if the opposition took power in a presidential system, the bill would be dead forever GOOD.
Also, there's no such thing as "Indian political system." In the world nowadays, it's either you follow the American (presidential), French (semi-presidential), British (parliamentary) styles of government or you could just go straight to a dictatorship like China.
