A local guy with a stock c7 rs7 had the same coolant issue at the drag strip. His 3rd pass had the same coolant warning come on. Didn't happen again after the car cooled down & no issues on the hour drive home. Only thing we could find was a very small amount of leakage under the bottom of the expansion tank where it connects to the hose.
Frustrating!!

Hell yes brother been following your channel , got a 16 s6 myself . I just got some Roc euro intakes and a full AWE touring exhaust for now. I want to tune and do other mods in the near future .

Can the new 2.9 twin-turbo + 48v achieve this with stage 1?
I’m not 100% sure, I know the RS5 I was racing in the 2nd pass is APR Stage 1 on the 2.9 without the hybrid assist, and he’s running ~11,5
Interesting issue with the throttle...I just got my S6 tuned and the shift from 3-4 I lose boost, after running a log noticed the throttle was closing down some at that shift, in S mode. Every other gear is perfect just the 3-4. In manual I short shift by like 100 rpm and transition is perfect.

Same thing happens to my IE tuned S7 on drag strip runs.
Once I shift into 4th ECU pulls back throttle as their is not enough fuel flow running ethanol. As Eli mentions in this vid, I think the sweet spot for running ethanol is an E60-E65 blend.

I use to have a 2016 RS7 stage 2 that ran 10.5 @ 132 but sold it a year ago and now I’m thinking about buying a 2014 S6 and just doing a simple APR stage1 , do you think it will run low 11s?
I always wanted the 4.0T but ended up with a SQ5. Now people are dropping the 4.0T in the B8.5 S4's and SQ5's... Giving me expensive ideas.
ignition tube didn't have a IE tcu tune....no wonder why it wouldnt command the shift at 6500ish every gear LOL
Nicely done! I just took my S6 to the /1/8 mile track for the first time. I did a 1.6 60ft and went 7.5 @ 91. Stage 1 DS1 tune on 93 and SRM TCU tune. Hoping to get as fast as you one day!
What year is your S6? I'm going to get a '17 or '18 S6. I've heard good things about DS1 - what sold you on DS1 compared to GIAC, APR, etc? Thanks! 🏁🏁🍺🍺
@@MidwestMotor What sold me on DS1 is when you buy it, you’re buying all the tunes. So I can switch from stage 1 to stage 3 with the push of a button. Also, when paired with a flex fuel sensor I can have any blend of ethanol in my tank and the DS1 will adjust on the fly based on the mixture the sensor reads. No changing tunes back and forth. It was a no brainer for me. 👍
@Hips King Stage 2 on S6/S7/A8 is for full intakes to the turbos (SRM or the larger intakes from RS6/RS7 fitted to S6/S7).
So once my SRM intakes are delivered, i can install them and immediately switch to stage 2. On RS6/RS7/S8, stage 2 used to be for downpipes, but now is for cool climate use or with upgraded intercooling, intakes optional. It runs a little more boost.
Running 10’s has gotta be surreal. Have been watching since you had your GTI and it’s been quite the journey.

Another question, when you are at drag strip what height do you adjust your air suspension to for the best launch? Like plus or minus how many mm from factory dynamic height?? I have an air module on my car and adjust it back to factory dynamic ride height. Curious to hear what you have found is best height stance.
Love it brother! Description on the rear axle? Is it an upgraded performance one? Manufacture P/N, Specs please... EDIT: at 4:42 she sounds SO frikin good flying down the strip! I had a 2010 S4 and always wanted the V8TT! I have to get me a 2017 or 2018!
It's an aftermarket axle from GSP. Nothing special, just a cheap alternative and happened to be available locally. I'm going to buy a couple genuine ones off of eBay as backups, P/N is 8R0501203C
Should add - that's for non-sport diff cars. Sport diff cars have dedicated left and right axles, and are significantly more expensive as they're not also found on A6/Q5 like 8R0501203C is.

Which gen S4?? I have a b8.5 S5 that i would absolutely love to run a 10.7 in! I'm waiting in Merc racing to have their s6 HX back in stock so they can ship me mine and I can go dual pulley e40 on mine

I haven’t tried this setup. I ran a 10.7 on an unprepared surface at 1000DA, no W/M, on 190/57 pulley’s, rear seats and passenger seat out, and obviously DR2’s on 18’s. I’ve ran a 10.9 full weight.
Have yet to try this new setup. I also got a lightweight drivers seat now, W/M injection, a lot more cooling like all the hoses are now 3/4+upgraded intercooler inlets, expecting hopefully a 10.5-10.6 on the street with low DA.
Also got lightweight 17’s with DR2’s.

had the same problem on my 1.8T mk4 golf...popping and banging..loss of boost car ran like sh*t...got recommended it was either the fuel pump or the MAP sensor..i was like..its not going to be the map sensor deffo gotta be the fuel pump turns out it was! OEM fuel pump 164k miles!...couldnt make it up! runs perfect now with a genuine lucas assembly!
Did your temp gauge show higher than normal or did you just get the warning on the dash? The gauge looked normal to me during your runs.
Yeah the light + GoPro quality makes it hard to see, I zoomed in while editing and didn’t really see it spike up, so weird right?

What do you attribute the quicker et from the sq5 to? The transmission?
As far as going 11.3 vs 11.7? My S4 never really ran right on ethanol, it was always on a beta file. The 11.7 was on pump + 5 gals of race gas thrown in, the 11.3 in the SQ was on the proper E40 file with a solid TCU tune. I also had traction issues in the S4, but not in the SQ.
