  • 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: The Iconic Off-Roader Returns with a Twist!
Meet the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - Where Efficiency Meets Power!
The new Land Cruiser Prado is set to arrive with four-cylinder engines, ending the era of the bigger, more powerful engines that many fans loved. The Prado has made a significant leap from the 150 series to the 250 series, a change that took 14 years. This update is driven by the new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, which has been used in various models since its introduction in 2015. The TNGA-F version, specifically designed for body-on-frame vehicles, first appeared in the Land Cruiser 300, which previously featured V8 engines.
The Land Cruiser 300 offers different engine options depending on the market: a 4.0-liter V6, a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, or a 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel V6. Other vehicles using the F platform include the Lexus LX and GX, and the Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, and Sequoia. The Toyota 4Runner, which will be positioned below the Prado, will also use this platform.
For the Prado, Toyota is expected to offer a hybrid engine, but it will likely be a four-cylinder instead of a six-cylinder. Three engines are anticipated: the 2.7-liter 2TR-FE, which produces 164 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque; the 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbo diesel, offering 201 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque; and a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, which delivers 265 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. There is a strong possibility of a hybrid version of the 2.4-liter engine, similar to the setup in the Tacoma.
