Tip: best way to get bookshelves are strongholds
edit: its the best way for someone experienced in the game. for the begainers and intermediates i would reccomend a sugercane and cow farm for bookshelvs and fletchers for emeralds
What about the library in mansion? There can be more than three of them in one, while in stronghold it’s super rare for more than one to spawn(sometimes two, but mansions have the little bookshelf room too, not just the big ones
TIME TO GRIND
No
That best way to get Book shelves are villagers
Because strongholds take way to long to get to and it isn't garenteed to have any bookshelves
@@grass-touchedBro, we are talking about early game. Most skilled and knowledged people go to the end in the early game, so finding a stronghold is a piece of cake if you know what ur doing. And no, villagers are extremely expensive in the early game, they literally sell 1 bookshelf for 9 emeralds tf are you talking about. We are talking about 20+ bookshelfs here, so this will cost stacks of emeralds. But of course at mid-game and late-game, villagers are better. (Obviously)
@@Froxmogah bro villagers are better anyways. As soon as you get to the nether, you will be able to farm weakness potions, with that you can make your villager a zombie, heal him and get super low prices. All you need for this is a librarian, a sugar cane and cow farm and access to the nether. 1 book / 1 paper= 1 emerald, and 1 emerald = 1 bookshelf. Nobody goes to the end before they get access to the nether or have any of these farms. You would just die lol

I remember when I played Minecraft early in its life, I thought the more bookshelves the better so I made a full encased room. Like I would walk in this box of shelves I had made, turn around and seal myself into the room, do my enchants in the dark then when I was done, break to 2 shelves that use to be where the entrance was to get out.
I used to do that as well, and I think years ago I saw someone made a video saying it was best to do that. It seemed to always work, and give the best enchantments.
Same. Even the floor was bookshelves.

"Enchantment table"**
Enchant table
I only knew the feather falling one but not that the bookshelves could go up to like infinite levels whilst only requiring 30 levels, so thank you so much
It can't go to infinity, there has to be exactly 1 block inbetween the enchanting table and bookshelves. This means you could create a square around the enchanting table which will take the level up to about level 112.
This short is *HIGHLY* misleading, and after doing some quick fact-checking this is how it *ACTUALLY* works:
The source this video is referencing gives the level requirements for all enchantments as coded in the game. This includes some enchantments that go above lvl 30 (15 bookshelves) which is where the confusion stems from.
Enchantments above the enchantment power of 30 are *not* obtainable on an enchanting table, since you can't go above 30.
I can already hear you saying "that's nonsense! I've gotten this or that enchantment before on this tool!" The reason is that the list provided by the source doesn't account for *the enchantability of each material.* Essentially, this means that the values depicted are true for enchanting books, which have an enchantability of 1, but not for stuff like iron tools, which have an enchantability of 14.
The minecraft wiki says this about enchantability:
***********************
The first modifier is based on the item's "enchantability," which depends on the material and the type of the item (see the table below). Other enchantable items such as books, bows, crossbows, tridents, and fishing rods have an enchantability of 1 for this purpose. Minecraft picks a number between 0 and half the enchantability, then adds that number plus one to the enchantment level.
*************************
I'll paste this comment around a bit, sorry if it's a little obnoxious.

Just use a lecture with a book, and however many pages you have is the Redstone output, so hook it to sticky pistons to move shelves.

haha 69 so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is complete misinformation. If you check the Minecraft wiki, or really any source other than this video, you'll see that bookshelf power is capped at 15, and everything beyond that doesn't work. Even with a fully encased enchantment table, bookshelf power will not exceed 15, which is level 30.

Sometimes in bedrock you can see level 31 enchants
Btw it’s enchantment tables-canman18
It is true that the optimal level would be above 30 for diamond tools, but adding more than -5 bookshelves doesn't help. The code checks the amount of bookshelves, and if it's above 15, it uses the number 15, so it is impossible that this would work.
However, as some materials have higher enchantability than diamond (gold and netherite, leather and chainmail), it would be easier to get fortune 3 on a gold pickaxe or a netherite one directly
Back in Beta 1.9, you could get lv49 enchants that would actually cost 49 entire levels to enchant
for a long time that table would take allllll of your xp and wow was that frustrating. glad that's changed
experience levels used to all require the amount of points per level then, instead of the current way where each level is more expensive than the last
Well in that version you don't need any lapis
Yeah back then getting an enchanted item was a pretty big deal since it required a lot of grinding lol
@@darkmattergamesofficialI remember enchanting for hours to get what I wanted, but back then the endgame wasn't so vast so it was one of the most fun things to do after getting your diamond set
I'm pretty sure this was the case BEFORE the enchantment update. So, back in 1.8, such a thing as bookshelf power did exist, but it doesn't anymore
It does still exist, but it's capped at level 30. More bookshelves than 15 won't do anything
No matter what patch it is and no matter what anyone says I will always ALWAYS build a 3x3 wall of bookshelves on each side (not including the corners) so I can the full use of enchanting my items. People always criticize and say “why do you make your enchanting table like that, you don’t need this many bookshelves.” Now I will have this video to show them.
classic youtube short not spending more than two minutes on research
classic comment not adding nothing useful, not even context
I usually just use anvils and librarian villagers to add every possible enchantment to one item
you can also enchant books of course but the important thing is, the anvil method is mandatory, especially when enchanting netherite. I am a minecraft veteran and i have always hated the random aspect of the enchanting system. Because in the end there is just now way around getting the "proper" enchantment if you want good items, otherwise its just a waste. So you have to set up a xp farm and play rng like an idiot.
an xp farm takes 30 minutes to build though@@froschreiniger2639
Props to earthcomputer and his crew for cracking the enchanting table RNG.

*fascinating.*
Power V in fact.
I used to use 27 bookshelves for everything, so fun times
Love ur content bro, I have been your subscriber since you had 572 subs
Ya I remember back then ❤ I was having 1 setup which allways give max enchanted item ❤❤❤
In any world i tried ❤
So basically what you saying is fill the room completely with book shelves and pray.
Someone needs to make a redstone contraptions that pulls away the bookshelves to make enchantments selectable
ENCHANTMENT TABLE
Oh wait enchanting table is also a name for it
Did you know that if you put 612,741 bookshelves around an enchantment table you have a 0.00003% chance to get mending on an item but you won’t know until you try. Will you try??
They should add enchantments that are exclusively for the enchanting table cuz we can just get villager trades and that’s much much easier, like I have a 100x100 world in Minecraft and with a few tricks I got villagers and enchantment books and now I have half decent gear( I’m barely starting the world) without spending my limited diamonds in an enchantment table that I’ll virtually never use
My bro sounds like tom holland 😂
I thought I knew everything about minecraft and here I am, learning something new. Thanks 😊
REAL
In my base I have a chest with a written book of tips, statistics, and RNG patterns for enchanting, all in one place, that I can look through, plus a bunch of torches.
I also have about 20 or so bookshelves around my enchanting table. Placing torches on the side closest to the table actually deactivates the table from interacting with it. So, if you have 20 shelves with 10 torches on them, the table will only draw power from the remaining 10.
This means you can toggle and have full control over the potency of enchantments and taking advantage of any RNG, like this.
Its hard to determine whether enchanting or librarians are the most effective ways to get the enchants you want. It definitely varies. I will say, you may want to mess with a table for a bit if you're having trouble finding a specific one
I remember OG tutorial taught me this when I first started playing in 2011
I used to surround my enchanting table with more bookshelves until I found out that you only need 15 bookshelves, but once I started doing that It took me a while to realize that it was harder to get the enchants that I wanted like fortune and silk touch. Whereas before I thought I was just getting super lucky getting good enchants.
I always knew this in the back of my mind, but didn’t know the specifics of it. Finally I fully understand how it works instead of guesstimating after years
I remember back in the good ol days when dropping a certain number of items before enchanting could manipulate what enchantments you get.
(Probably patched by now but maybe not)
Wow, thanks for the tip, I also wanna mention that torches, carpet, anything really, that is placed between the enchanter and the books will block it from getting power. Found this out after I had been trying to enchant for hours and realized my nice carpet I had surrounding my enchanter was blocking the book shelves
I always made my enchanting areas really big... with a lot of bookshelves, i usually use like 25 bookshelves... now i know why I'd usually get better enchants...
I knew this. Every enchant station i have has a redstone piston contraption that is capable of moving bookshelfs out of the way, so I'm able to get the enchant i want, without breaking bookshelves.
I miss old higher lvl enchantments
Requiring (and also the enchanting tables being able to use) more bookshelves to having basically a 3x3x3 instead of a 2 high bookshelves.
Seeing enchantment lvl 50 requirments and getting some of the most opd enchantments and more enchantments per item.
Now lvl 30 is highest and going past a 3x3x2 with 1 side missing and the 2nd layer about half to max out the level requirements.
When I heard “Enchonts” I was like:
Love the accent.
I personally never use an enchantment table, i just trade with librarian villagers, it's more efficient
I remember learning this years ago and now I am relearning it haha
Remember when they had higher level enchanting only OG will remember
Enchonting tables 🧐
Another thing is the first enchant you do in your world will have a set option of what it will be and for a pickaxe it is always going to be fortune 3 efficiency 4 and unbreaking 3
Each bookshelf gives a power level of 2. Hopefully this clears things up on how he got 38 enchantment levels
I love the new ENCHOOONTING Tables. MMM, so ELEGOOONT.
Bro is British
He just said enCHAUNTing table😂🇬🇧
A trick i used to do was make an redstone, item panel rotation, sticky piston setup for my enchantment rooms. Tedious but gives you a good selection of revolving enchantment choices.
Personally i place exactly 53 bookshelf blocks around of an enchanting table when i enchant!!!
9 down
9 blocks up (with 2 blocks empty before)
9 on the front , right , left (with 1 block empty before)
And 8 on the side that you get in ... 7 around you and 1 under your feet

I'm not saying this is complete cap, but year 2000 Fred Durst is looking for it like crazy.
I might be wrong, the level 38 xp actually because of left out code from when they added enchantments Before they fixed to amount of 30.
The bookshelf power still increase despite being fix in 30.
Cool instead of me having so many librarian villagers and fishing for books
Doesn't matter to me, as all I do is enslave villagers for books.
