The bunkers at a lot of South Wales courses seem to be pretty abysmal at the moment, might be due to the 6 months of atrocious wet weather we've had.. or there's a shortage of sand funds 😂 The Mathern looks a beautiful course though, it's on my to play list 👍
Bunkers are often a sore point with golfers when it comes to sand quantity. I imagine it costs quite a lot to supply all the sand for an entire course, but to play this course at this price, who needs them?!!
@@CeeegeT that's a bargain price to be fair 👍. Yep the cost of bunker maintenance is shocking. My local course has filled in quite a few and re-placed the sand with longer grass so they're still a challenge to get out of. 👍
Hi there👋 Never got round to it tbh! I've always played by eye since I was a youngster and can usually get by with just on course aids and tee distances. Maybe one day I'll get one but don't feel a strong urge to just yet. Also, it's another bit of extra time per shot and I'm really conscious of the additional time filming each shot takes ⏳
I was shocked too. I hit a provisional with a 5 iron, same fade and that one bounced into the reen. Extracted that one from the water but walked straight up to the original drive. Seriously tough hole though.
@@chrisbardsley9237 /sigh The ball I played was the same brand and number that I teed off with. I was surprised to find "it" but with a group pressing behind and the stresses of trying to film and present courses in a good light, I didn't question it. I'm sorry if it is such a bone of contention but I'm just trying to make pleasant, informative content, promoting both your lovely courses which hopefully will appeal to others.
great video
Thank you ☺
Great course that! Greens in great condition as well
It's a real wolf in sheep's clothing. It might look easy but it has a bite to it. Greens were good all the way round too 😊
Looks nice. I've never played there. Looks interesting. Good vlog.
Cheers 👍 Yep it's certainly an interesting course. Quite easy to rack up some nasty scores on a few of the holes with the streams.

15 pounds!? wow. Great chip in on 18.
It's a real bargain. Who cares if the bunkers are out of action at that price 👍🤑
Hi CJ, new golfer here. Just wondering why you do not use GPS?

There is no way that you cleared the reen on 14 with that fade drive…

As a member of some 23yrs I question that hole as well.. Along with one or two on the Old Course..🤔🤔
