He shouldn’t pay artists for them being on his platform because firstly no other platform pays you to be on their platform. Secondly, the reason why people go to a platform is for promo. Artists aren’t there to just kick it with you. They are there to use your platform to promote their product. It’s a mutually beneficial business move. Yes, the platform (Adam) gets the ad revenue/sponsorship dollars/a viral moment but in return the artists get sales to their product and the viral moment is also theirs to capitalise on. So why should the platform pay if the artist is also benefiting from being there?
