I just got the Sanctuary 2.0 set right before season & it’s by far the best cold weather gear I’ve ever owned. I hunt all over the Midwest & have seen some 20 degree mornings with 15mph winds & I was toasty warm. One thing about the sanctuary 2.0 is you don’t have to go crazy on the layering to stay warm. The sanctuary 2.0 replaced my Sitka Fanatic bibs & jacket & I’ve sold almost all my Sitka & will be replacing it with First Lite. 👍🏻👍🏻

It's a great system. Really hits the nail on the head for late October through late November!

Confirmed on the Sanctuary 2.0. Only the leg zips.
I’m in Alabama and the Sanctuary 2.0 is quite the kit.
I think the Solitude is the best option for layering under the bib and jacket down to 25 degrees F.

Is the sanctuary 2.0 too warm for Alabama? I’m there also. Thanks! Debating over sanctuary vs solitude

@@ryanpate4 I tend to get cold in the woods after about an hour. The Sanctuary 2.0 is solid. Granted we’ve had a mild Fall / Winter so far, but when it’s cold the 2.0 delivers. I went broke, so I’ll work on getting the Solitude kit next year. It would be too warm if you are stalking / constantly on the move. If you get static / stationary for a while… it delivers.
But wear a base layer when on the move and I hump the 2.0 top and bib in with a backpack, so it takes up quite a bit of space.
      Hope that helps.

@@AlabamaPilgrim333 it does thanks so much! If you like the sanctuary though... why bother buying the solitude? Not saying you’re wrong just want all the intel I can get. 😃 thanks!

@@ryanpate4 for the days when layering is the better option (moving more).
I bought the “Catalyst” for early season and wish I would have skipped it and gotten the “Solitude” instead.
So far, my favorite item is the CORRUGATE Foundry pant in Brown. Has knee pads and suspenders. Love them.

It’s get the heated volt vest. Base layer, volt vest, and the solitude set. That would be all you will ever need.

What size? How do you feel about the catalyst sizing? Looking to switch to first lite. I’m 6 ft and pretty skinny. Mostly wear medium besides a few companies I go up to large. Thanks Iin advance

Would you wear this below 50 degrees, I just wanna wear sweatpants/ long sleeve underwear and head out the door and not worry about putting on a bunch of layers. Already have the first edition sanctuary I've never tried

Thanks for the videos. I'm a fellow CT hunter. Do you think the Solitude will be enough for the New England winters? I hunt northern NH as well as South Western CT.

    • @DoItThenOutdoors

If paired with the various weight thermals the Solitude should work for most temps. Honestly I rarely bump up from the Catalyst with furnace thermals.

@@DoItThenOutdoors I was kind of thinking that, so far catalyst has been too warm with no layers I was leaning Sanctuary for those really cold days in late December.

@@the_atomic_punk487 for PA rifle season I would lean towards Solitude. If you are solely stand hunting maybe even the Sanctuary but if you are doing any type of walking then the Sanctuary becomes warm and bulky.

I have heard that the wind penetrates the FL gear pretty badly so I wanted to get your feedback on this potential issue along with the outer shell fabric. Is water repellent sufficient as opposed to waterproof as in Sitka gear. I realize that this adds cost and noise to Sitka but what are your thoughts for FL.

    • @DoItThenOutdoors
      @DoItThenOutdoors  2 года назад

I wore the solitude and Catalyst systems in kansas and the wind never really bothered me. Now I’ve never tried Sitka so not sure how it compares with there wind resistance. As for water resistant, I sat a time or two in drizzling rain and was perfectly fine. First lite does make an awesome rain suit but I haven’t bought it yet. My DIT outdoors partner has it and loves it.

Exactly! First season both the catalyst and solitude combos held up great. I believe I lost a first lite logo on the pants but they’re like iron on. I used the solitude in kansas as well and never got cold when paired with the right base layers.
