Thank you for the special treat this morning. I love to see the shops, restaurants and of course the fabric store, Tessuti. It is uplifting to see how everything is lively and positive in Melbourne! I needed to see this today as things in Canada have been seriously negative. You bring joy and an appreciation for sewing with your makes, tips and tours! You look wonderful as always!
I live in Canada -- and after watching a recent video of yours, I ordered from Tessuti. I ordered several patterns and some fabric (and notions) --- I was so very impressed -- I received my order in 1 week!!!! Amazing! I am very very happy with my purchase. I haven't tried a pattern yet, but am planning to this week. THANK YOU for the recommendation of Tessuti!
Lovely to Flinders Street again after 23 years of living in the U:, the Royal Arcade, shops, restaurants look wonderful and it was lovely to see St. Paul's. I shed a few tears seeing it all. Thank you so much for sharing these outings. Much love and appreciation.
It was so nice watching your trip to Melbourne :) I miss all the wonderful unique shops and boutiques the larger cities have. I am adding a shopping weekend in Melbourne to my bucket list. 👜👛
Lovely tour . The fabric choices were gorgeous Kristen . Looking forward to seeing the makes . I am a Melbourne girl . So another fabric store to visit .
Loved the video of your beautiful Melbourne, I haven’t seen much of Australia, what a lovely city! Made me want to visit, especially Tessuti Fsbrics. There are not many fabric stores in my city of London, Ontario. Always appreciate your videos.
Thank you for an amazing vlog it took me back to my childhood living in Adelaide with all of its beautiful buildings. I loved the gallery with all of the Dr Seuss paintings 🥰 and those Italian pastries ... all of your fabrics are amazing and I’m looking forward to seeing you make it up in your amazing Tesutti patterns🧵 🥰
I’m so jealous!!! I love love tessuti patterns and often look at their beautiful fabrics. International shipping is a bit pricey though so I’ve never ordered. Melbourne looks lovely, reminds me of London.
I never see Melbourne so deserted. My sister and I had lunch in the cafe in the block. It would be a good time to video without the crowd. Coming from Brisbane I don’t get to Melbourne often especially now . Tusutti looks so lovely didn’t get there last time. Thank you for the trip.
I haven't been to Melbourne for about two years, it was great to see it again, I am hoping to go down there in the next few weeks as I want to go to my hairdressers in Carlton. I am going to make a Vogue trench coat, I have the outer fabric for it (that I got from Super Cheap Fabrics a beautiful linen and cotton drill made in Italy), and I was going to buy the lining for it from Tessuti. However here in Bendigo we have a gorgeous fabric shop called 'House of Cloth', they stock the same quality of fabrics that Tessuti do, and they are also a Bernina dealer. Anyway, I was there the other day and I enquired about their lining fabric and they do have some beautiful linings from Italy, so I am going to support my local business and get the lining from there (and support local business too). You would LOVE this shop, if you are ever in Bendigo you should check it out! I love your ginger pussycat too.
@@thedahliasewciety The House of Cloth is opened Tuesday to Saturday, if you do decide to come up please let me know and we could meet up and have a coffee....
Hi Kristen. Thanks for showing us Melbourne’s beautiful architecture. The Tessuti shop is awesome. I’m going to Sydney on Thursday and am hoping to visit their Surry Hills store while I’m there. 🧵✂️🦋
@@thedahliasewciety I found the Tessuti shop in Surry Hills. It's walking distance from Central station. Not as big as the Melbourne store, but full of the most beautiful fabrics, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
That was SO enjoyable Kristen! Melbourne is a beautiful city - so clean and fresh but historical and culturally rich as well. Happy Birthday to your Aries hubby :) Aries home of the Sun and Cancer home of the moon - clearly a perfect dance of opposites :) Beautiful fabrics and yes I love Tessuti so that was a joy too. I've made up several of their patterns but ordering their fabric has made shipping just prohibitive and we have lovely quality fabric shops here too that I like to support :) Thank you for this wonderful tour video. Loved every minute!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it Kathleen and I hope your eyesight is improving after surgery? Hubby is actually a Taurus being on the 13th May but he actually has a Aries moon! I’m a Cancer with a Taurus moon! So that’s pretty perfect! Haha I’m so glad you enjoyed 😘
@@thedahliasewciety of course hubby is a Taurus! What was I thinking :) It makes complete sense for a Cancer and Taurus to marry with such great success as is yours :) he does have fire with that Aries moon and we often fall in love with someone whose sun is our moon :) My distance eyesight is 20/20! Even better than the doc expected - I'm a medical marvel apparently :) but my close up vision is horrendous - typical for aged eyes :) I'm just waiting now on my reading/SEWING glasses! They should be ready by the end of the this week and i can get back to finishing my Cambria :)
Visited Tesutti 3 years ago on a once in a lifetime trip to Australia, I started looking for it the wrong end of Flinders and only had 45 mins left till closing by the time I found it. Still haven't cut into the fabric I bought there, loved the store and hit the Sydney one later on the trip with plenty of time to browse. Great video feeling very nostalgic.. looking forward to seeing your fabric's made up.
thanks for this well-filmed episode, Kristen. It's been over 10 years since I visited Melbourne, thanks for reminding me of how lovely the city is with its shops and cafes! Side note: I like that cyclists are asked to dismount, here in Sydney and suburbs they own the footpaths, its awful! Now planning a trip to Tessuti in Surry Hills. I think I'll just be looking, but that's ok :)
THAT (watching the video) was just SO special. Thank you for a thousand different reasons - my COVID jab is in a few weeks and then Tesutti’s is ( almost ) No.1 on my to do list. Congratulations on the success of your channel. Well deserved.
You are so lucky to have a beautiful place to shop! I couldn't believe how beautifully decorated the shops are. Our main shopping area is pretty dull in comparison. I loved the way the Tessuti shop was set up. Having all of the same color families blocked together is so helpful and you don't have to run all over the store to find a coordinating fabric. I loved the fabrics you chose and can't wait to see what you make with them!! Thanks for sharing!
If you ever get the chance to come up to Tweed Heads, then you have to visit fantazia Fabric Land & Patchwork,it's a family run business that spreads itself out over 3 wearhouses, I am amazed every time I go in there
I miss Melbourne and your video didn’t help 😂. My sister lived in Melbourne for 12 years so I was a regular visitor. Maybe next year when travel is a little less risky.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us! What a great fabric shop!! Gorgeous flooring in the arcades as well!
You'd love it Terri!!

Beautiful content. I went to Tessuti in Surry Hills last week for the first time. I'll definitely be going back.

How fun. Melbourne is pristine. So pretty. Are there always so few people or is it the pandemic effect?
It's still very quiet in town, not quite back to normal just yet!
