Aqueon also makes 1 gallon “betta cubes” which is horrible for anything other than a hospital tank! 5 gallons at the least for these beautiful creatures 🥲
I just found your channel! I keep my betta in a ten gallon planted but it's still great to see people making PSA videos like this. Binge watching the rest of your videos haha
@Betta_Days I wish they would outright ban them honestly. I only saw amazon and PetSmart (web only) selling them. Orbezz are meant for children not fish.
I did see those "Betta Beads" but they just didn't sound like something I wanted to use. I also wanted a more natural tank, with natural colors, and live plants. Thanks for sharing all the useful information with us new Betta parents! I love your videos and I joined you Facebook forum!
I haven’t been having any luck keeping bettas. I have well water, and I’m pretty sure that is the issue. Just wondering if you have any thoughts or experience with well water. Thinking about trying bottled water. TFS, AllisonLP
Try bottled water! Where I live, I use tap water and it works well with a de-chlorinator. I do have a friend, however, who can't use hers like you, and she buys it bottled. Not distilled! Here's what she said: "I use a refillable water station at my local grocery store," For just 49 cents per gallon, I can get ten gallons of water for under $5. The water is cold, so I buy it a day before doing a water change."
I have well water and have no major issues keeping bettas. I also have a semi planted tank and use water conditioner about every other water change. Only problem I have is the hard water spots on the water line😭
This is why people always need to be highly skeptical of "trendy" or colorful looking alternative options to a standard fishtank. Between the questionable coloring/paint ingredients, brittle/cheap material, or just overall cramped/jagged design of many decor and "gravel" options, there always seems to be some new thing on the market every 3-10 years that turns out to be an awful idea that leads to the premature death of many a fish, betta or otherwise. When Betta beads first came out, my thoughts were "Why the hell are we putting Silicon Orbees in fishtanks!?", because as far as I could tell, this was just another option marketed towards inexperienced keepers who thought a colorful substrate would be cute, and the replaceable nature of them could somehow cut down on maintenance. I feel sorry for all the people who used this product and lost a dear pet to it.
I'm shocked this type of product is being sold and marketed as such. I hope they end up removing it from their product line. Orbeez anything is just bad in general. I've seen too many clips of parents doing the mass cleanup/plumbing after their kids put them in the bathtub or sink. Or that one guy who affected his entire neighbourhood after filling his bathtub...I wouldn't be mad if they banned this type of product as it affects water systems. More plastic we don't need~
what's so odd is that it's Aqueon that makes this product. they usually have great products and then they make this ....
I say this exact thing to myself all the time. Aqueon is such a coinflip when it comes to product quality and safety.

@@bellab-lu9md welcome to the family I’m so glad you’re here! It means so much to hear that you love my content! 🥺💗💗💗💗
My local stores refuse to sell these. I think even PetSmart took them off the shelves.
Wouldn't be surprised if someone sued over this.

So true! 👏 The orbeez in the bathtub and waterways is such a disaster 😳
@AquaJoyClub orbezz are great sensory toys for older children and teenagers. But should be used in a storage tote or bowl nowhere near plumbing.
@@AuronFFX Absolutely true, when I was little I played with them but NOT in the bathtub
Shit i just buy this product yesterday, thanks for the info
