The soundtracks from the Auchinodoun dungeons and some other BC soundtracks were created by the same guy who made D2 soundtrack. In fact the songs in Auchinodoun were from Diablo 3 (2000-2005). Blizzard north was shut down and thus the soundtracks placed in burning crusade. Rip Blizzard North.
This is masterpiece. I played the game about 8 years ago and I remember this one. Just like Diablo 1, Diablo 2 is cool. And I plan to play this game again, but this time, even to beat the game (as I didn't do earlier)
walking through the forgotten tower with this eerie music plus the dismal atmosphere plus the extra strong, extra fast and extra difficult enemies with their helpers...sigh...I am eager to play this game again.
Man, this was epic music to play to, already in the game, no muting required. Who doesn't mute their current game music(or at least turn it waaaay down) and listen to something better? This I remember playing to and it was even kinda spooky, built up anticipation/excitement.
I will never forget having Countess drop me an SoJ in NIGHTMARE when I was just levelling for ladder start. I was screaming!!! Diablo II is my favorite game of all time
She's still pretty damn good for Lem through Ist Got many a surprise Mal/Ist :) eta: And as I'm sure you're aware, at the beginning of the Ladder Season, a Mal or Ist is fucking !jackpot!
its a little psychedelic indeed :) Last week I wondered if non-gamers can enjoy the music (without the context), this was one of the tracks that came to mind
Stairs, stairs and ever downward. With each step, the lantern hanging from your hip scrapes against its metal holster, the noise vanishes in the darkness beyond its candle-light. The darkness in these crypts is all consuming, hiding the creatures lurking here. Footsteps in the distance, a growl from behind and a maniacle laughter quickly fading. You are lost in the labyrinth of cells, chambers and tombs as you desperately search for stairs the lead you further down into the belly of the crypts. Cain told you, with some urgency, that you must get to the lowest level of the crypts, below the monestary. He told you that you must kill the evil that resides there. A powerful, corrupting force that has claimed the monestary and nearby lands. A demon made manifest that has allowed evil to be birthed into the world. Andariel. The arch-temptress. "You MUST slay her!", Cain had said. Now, you are all alone. The only company you have are the desecrated remnants of the Rogues that were once the guardians of this place. Their liveless, tortured bodies strung up in wicked poses as an offering to evil. You have become accustomed to such foul ornaments and even found them helpful. For amongst these corpses you often find coins, weapons and potions. Things that evil might do without, but you gladly accept as aid in your journey. Some might call you a scavenger or vulture, but you simply call it "surviving". At least, the death of these innocent people served a purpose, you tell yourself with grim determination. You need all the aid you can get, because from out of the dark, the wicked creatures beset you. Horned beasts with grotesque faces charge at you, skeletal remains come to live with cruel intend and nercomancers unleash their black arts. You batter your way ever onward and downward. Your weapon slices and cuts. Heads and arms are severed from bodies, blood gushes and organs splash out. You hack and slash, you punch and kick. One moment the creatures attack you, the next they flee from your deadly onslaught. Magic missiles hit you, exploding in bursts of flames or claps of lightning. Sometimes you are brought to the brink of death and it is you who has to escape the clutches of your wicked assailants. Hobbeling away into the darkness to find respite from these beasts. Healing potion after healing potion douces your wounds, mended by the magic within them and once more you charge into the uncertainty. You fight and prevail, suffer incredible pain and overcome your own fears until finally, another flight of stairs awaits you, to take you deeper down into the crypts. Down, down, down you go, fighting and overcoming the cruel inhabitants of the darkness within the crypts until, finally, there are no more stairs. A large, wooden door stands in front of you. Beyond you hear the muffled beating of drums and the twisted laughter of an terrifying being. Slowly, the doors swing open...
@pmanderson As a guy who played Doom when i was 6... i can say that they are superb games :) Doom is a superb game with a great soundtrack for the time :)
IIRC Uelmen doesn't generally play tracks straight through, he does a ton of post-processing and assembling tunes together from lots of different takes
Fear not sir! Already ruined to the core, and ruined 100x more than I could have even imagined or given them credit. I am literally convinced they purposely tried to make the D3 soundtrack shit.
The electric guitar at 0:26 always gave me chills back in the day.

The greatest burst of inspiration and legacy Blizz ever saw
I was wondering this while running through Shadow Labs, that the music sounded super familiar
Shame, that early Diablo 3 project were what we really want :-(
it's the greatest tragedy in all of gaming what happened and what could have been the real d3. since then i absolutely despise blizzard
One of the best pieces of music that has ever been composed for any game soundtrack!!!
Treasure hunting, treasure finding.... Yes!
this place leaks of death.

This makes the crypt & mausoleum super scary. D3 failed.

CamelotVault So true...
The question is who does that? :O Man, muting game music makes gaming much less immerse.
*POV, you are looking for El rune and this is your 20th attempt, contemplating how much Malice is worth when it comes to sanity*
😭
ouch
If you're scumming for an el rune in act I, you're already insane 🤷♂️
I will never forget having Countess drop me an SoJ in NIGHTMARE when I was just levelling for ladder start. I was screaming!!! Diablo II is my favorite game of all time
Uuuuugh, countess runs. The pain... THE PAIN. WHY WOULD IST NEVER DROP FOR ME?!?!
Crypt
Mausoleum
Forgotten Tower
That's three.
Matron's den
Farming the Countess for the 15th time...
+Splazarus >El Rune
Popping chests on kurast bazaar for variety...
i realised since then that lower kurast is the best for runes, countess really sucked for me in comparison
She's still pretty damn good for Lem through Ist
Got many a surprise Mal/Ist
:)
eta: And as I'm sure you're aware, at the beginning of the Ladder Season, a Mal or Ist is fucking !jackpot!
The best she can give is vex (in hell mode )
Treasure hunting, Treasure finding... Yes !
This soundtrack always creeps me out.
Call me insane, but I think this is a very beautiful and psychedelic track way more than I think it's anything eerie or unsettling.
its a little psychedelic indeed :) Last week I wondered if non-gamers can enjoy the music (without the context), this was one of the tracks that came to mind
I won't call you insane, but ignorant; psychedelic?
Its soo different when you listen to it on acid
This and fallout 2 ost on shrooms was a life changing experience
This could easily be a brilliant song from Tool's new album or something. So fucking amazing. D2 is out of this world.
Fucking eh nostalgia just hit me like a brick
Blizzard fucked up Diablo 3 big time. I'm glad we are all in agreement.
Catacombs and crypt have the most creepy soundtracks in the game,i love it
Also Cave
Don't forget Tombs
@@aaadj2744 glad you looked out for my boy
every so often this will randomly play on the loading screen as the orb fills with blood

Damn
I hated those Ghosts or Specter(Or whatever they where called) Especially on my Paladin and Barb
Masterpiece !
Fuck it! Despite owning D3, I am going to go back to D2LoD!
nobody ever fucking said "hey i m going back to play d3" it fucking sucks. I still wish I never bought it
Lord Of Destruction is the best expansion and side story to Diablo in my opinion
What I kill, stays dead.
FUCK!!! IM GONNA PLAY DIABLO 2 AGAIN!! XD
Guys, didnt ZHU sample this on the beggining of the song Dreams? Especially 3:20 idk it sounds almost the same, correct me if i'm wrong.
Yes ! Yes ! Yes!
@pmanderson As a guy who played Doom when i was 6... i can say that they are superb games :) Doom is a superb game with a great soundtrack for the time :)
1:46
there is an entire part of this theme in alpha game, still looking for^^
@raikus31
Yes, Raikus, I know this music too. I have sifted bones to this music. It's good music to hunt for Runes.
I think 1:30 got me pregnant. This masterpiece soundtrack is not even real
Pregnant? Wut?! I wonder what your child will look like!
Студия КвС Prove it
So, to quote some comic I once saw somewhere, you carried a tune for nine months?
guitar tabs please
IIRC Uelmen doesn't generally play tracks straight through, he does a ton of post-processing and assembling tunes together from lots of different takes
it's my fav part :D
The beta version of this track (the one used in beta promotions videos) is amazing, someone knows where to find it?
Diablo 3 has non of this
Like this? Check out Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus. 80s goth/post punk seems to be the base for Act I music.
they already did....
0:27 wow epic! I am going to be severely pissed if Blizz ruins the D3 soundtrack.
Fear not sir! Already ruined to the core, and ruined 100x more than I could have even imagined or given them credit. I am literally convinced they purposely tried to make the D3 soundtrack shit.
The coming nightmare from the other side
And so it came to pass that the countess
Reminds me of Scooby Doo music.
Mortal kombat bloodstrom
Не, в Diablo Hellfire тема лучше была!
faltan los bebes llorando xD
