Just found out last year that my gf stayed with her ex-husband through molesting her daughter…I couldn’t get past it, I wasn’t going to give her a pass, my resentment & anger grew until I ended that ish , but now she’s villafying me to her daughters. It hurts that I can’t spend time with them. And now it makes sense all the times I saw her explode in anger & curse them out from her high school years and beyond. I think she wants to keep her daughters broken so they are forever dependent of her. She’s disgusting.

What happened ns is, individual ppl in this situation want to turn the corner and other ppl are holding onto their hurt. Some can see the bigger picture of "at least there's an attempt" and mostly it'll be "this is another manipulation move". And that's totally understandable. You can't "win over" the mother's family easily, and definitely not the children involved.
Emily's daughter is not a child and she is also a parent herself. So this idea of staying in a child's place might not be applicable with this situation. I have 4 my oldest 23 me and his moms struggled in our communication and things got strenuous and there were moments in time like specific days or weeks he felt I should’ve been there and he was right however I was always there even if I was never stoped coming back never stop paying never stopped following up or being there for school nothing however he gets emotional and sees only what hurts him nothing else.
