Wonderful idea! I often have days where I just want to sew without a pattern or without a lot of thinking. Just sewing! This will definitely cut down on my scraps. Thank you!
Excellent work. The diagonal joining of strips is worth the extra effort for a 'softer' looking quilt - that's what I did with mine. Well done as always 🤩
I truly love your scrap quilts isn't it funny no matter how many scraps we use they seem to breed profusely and then we have more quilts to make so many strips in one pile thank you for sharing
Fantastic quilts! I love that you did the diagonal seams to piece the strips. It does make a nicer looking seam. Congratulations on getting 4 quilts out of those strips! You are amazing!
Great to see this. I have JUST STARTED to cut 2.5" strips from my scraps and that includes the backing leftovers! I had not thought ahead for the next step. I really like your idea and the process step of keeping the same color strip into 2 adjoining rows. The navy interspersed also looks so integrated with the whole! Maybe I will do your idea for mine. I appreciate your sharing! God bless you!
Thanks so much!!!! 💛. Another easy jelly roll is bricks. Take a strip of a reasonable length then just border it with other strips! As big or as small as you like!
Thank you! ☀️ And oh wow! What a great question! ⭐️ I am going to put the answer in my description too. So, 3 quilts at 40 strips, 4th quilt only had 28 strips. So, 148 strips at 61 inches long (I added an inch for the seam allowances) equals 9028 inches length, divided by 12 inches per foot, equals 752 feet long! Oh My GOODNESS! 🤣😻🧵✂️
Oh wow! I just finished sewing up this exact jelly roll to get a quilt top! But I am stuck bc I want to add a wide border to give it more width and I cant figure out how "square" this needs to be? I did trim some of the uneven ends but it still looks uneven at the width? Any suggestions?
Thanks for watching my video! 💙💙💙. One thing I've tried on these wonky quilts: First make sure it is pressed very very flat. Next create a straight edge on one side. Then you should be able to use the 90 degree lines on rulers to do the next side, etc.. Some quilts just don't square up, and these wild constructions from scraps sometimes just end up wonky. Good luck to you! ☀️☀️☀️
I specifically didn’t give a size on these, because if you have scraps and they are strips, you can make whatever size you want! But I just got done finishing 27 quilts. I’ll leave a link here in this remark for the video, the four jelly roll quiltsare among the ones I finished!! And I did give my particular finished sizes for all four of them, and they’re all different, in this video: ruclips.net/video/BaOyU6Cmqaw/видео.htmlsi=afb9bGglx-Esj2Kl
I really like your idea of cutting the strips 60" sections, keeping them in cohesive order! Great plan!!!
Thanks! I am glad you liked it! 💛
Thanks for doing all that work for us, and helping us to think through the process!
You are a great teacher!
I appreciate that! ☀️💛

I really like how you just “GO FOR IT “ with yours scraps!!! Scrappy is my favorite ❤️

Scraps are happily (and continuously) multiplying at my place 😂☀️💕. Thanks!
Great job and a good group charity project.
Thank you! ☀️

I use jelly roll race quilts to give me a quick quilt and kinda clean the palate. I like this idea.
Thanks for watching!!! 💛🩵💛
You are such an inspiration! Thanks for another great idea!

Salut Régine ! 🌸. La magie! 😻⭐️. Oui, restez à l'écoute pour le prochain film ! 🎬. C'est une autre idée de Noël 🎄 ! Passe un bon weekend! ☀️☀️☀️
Yiu could have made the traditional jelly roll race. It makes no difference if strps are different lengths, actually it enhances the finished project.
Cool! 😎
Wow!! This amazing!!! And you did it in 10 hours!!! 👍❤️
Yes! Thank you! 😊
Nice way to clean up an overflowing strip bucket😊
I agree! ☀️
Such a satisfying video! Well done! I’ve just done my first jelly roll race quilt top and it was really fun! Deb x 🤗
Hi there, Deb! It is fun for sure! ☀️❤️
I appreciate how you just pick a piece and sew it to another. I know I would be trying to coordinate colors at some point.
Hi Karen! When it's a mix like this, Dark/Light seems to work out somehow. ☀️❤️

You make it work. I also like the diagonal seams. Adds a nice element to the design.
Great job and excellent idea! This would be good to use up my “ ugly” fabrics. Thank you for sharing. love them all. ❤️
You’re welcome! ☀️👍
That ship fabric was from 1992! I know, because I bought it for my Christopher Columbus anniversary quilt, fabric by Jinny Breyer, I think.
Oh how cool!!! Thanks for letting me know!! ☀️
I really enjoyed this project & the quilts were so unique. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! ☀️🌸
Very nice. So glad your ships are all sailing in the same direction. 😊✌️
Me too! 😻🤣
That was fantastic. 4 quilts!!! Congratulations. You may run out of scraps soon!
Thanks so much! ☀️ I will probably never run out.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Annette - these scrap quilts are beautiful. I love your ideas and watching you put these together. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you! You too! 🌴 ☀️
I did this also. But I used one quilt for a front and one a back. 2 completed quilts, rainbow both sides.
Oh that's a good idea! ☀️
One of my favorites.
Thanks! 😊
They turned out lovely. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Cynthia! ☀️❤️

You’re very welcome ☺️
Wow, 4 quilts from scraps. Excellent work. They are nice quilts.
Thank you! 😊
Love your ideas and work, thank you for sharing.
Thanks Lucila! You are so welcome! ☀️😂
Wow! Great idea and job!!!!
Thank you! 😊 Have a great weekend Vera! ☀️
I cut up some FQs in to 2 1/2 strips and sewn together and I figured as long as I have enough for 32 rows I was doing good.
Sounds fun! 🤩
Love it, a great idea
Thank you! 😊
Great job 😊!
Thanks Mirea! ☀️❤️
What a great project!❤
Thank you! ☀️
GREAT!
Thanks Mary! ☀️
I know you said you had different strip sizes, do you have any idea as to how long your strip was when you got them all joined?
Beautiful quilt tops 😊

Aren’t you afraid you are going to lose your watch with it unhooked?😊
Nah, haven't lost it yet! 🤣🤣🤣

When you say you have three quilt tops what size are you saying?

What do you do with all the quilts that you make?
Hi! I donate them to either Project Linus, or Sleep in Heavenly Peace. ☀️.
