Ugh! I always struggle with my photos. I have many older items in my shop and the photos are not great. I've tried white backgrounds, props, plain backgrounds, and patterns. Essentially, it's all over the place. lol Lighting is my biggest issue, I think. Thanks, Kara, for reminding me to try to be consistent. I like my photos of my latest cards displayed on an easel with a plant in the background. I have a lightbox but that's not too great, either. xo
In a few of the listings I sell more of (vintage seller here, so not that many) I have included a screenshot of a 5 star review of that item, as one of the photos. I don’t include a lot of stuff/ props either especially not in the first photo as some search with photo recognition too.

yes, you need to respond within 24 hours. If you set up an automatic message response that counts, though. I think you can do that for a limited number of days then you have to renew it unless you're in vacation mode, then it lasts as long as you have vacation mode set up.

Totally agree that faces and eyes should not be in jewelry photos!

The link takes them to an email signup form, it's not on Etsy or my website, it's the form for the mailing list service.

No, you can't legally offer discounts or anything in exchange for a review.

It's square some places and rectangular in other places, it's a pain in the butt to keep track of because they change it.
