    I don’t get the hate for the changeling and vampire coast. I feel like you just like different playstyles. They are not made to „conquer all“ and that’s what I personally like about them. I think it’s good to have diversity in the type of playstle and not only the nightmare lategame settlement building simulator. With pirates, all you need is your own LL. with changeling, all you need is the changeling and properly manage the cults. I think even more diversity in cults would be cool, I personally love the mod with a lot of additional special buildings. That’s something that’s needed IMO but other than that, from a not „very hard“ standpoint they are awesome as is.

    Mundi beeing s gerneric slan caster is so damn lame. He needs like +100 winds, cataclysm spells, Kroak spells and definitly a bit of a unique mechanic.
    I like him beeing hard but without anything cool going for him and the diplo penalty on top he gets boring way to fast.

      Should also have something like the Chaos Dwarfs dreadquake mortar building but as a skill, for the purposes of either damaging settlements or a battle effect within a radius of where he is on the map. Seriously he's the closest thing to a living god in the setting, he should at least be a better caster than Mannfred and Teclis

    The idea of the changeling is good, but the fact that you can generate income from doing nothing is... Not great. And worst of all, the Schemes like you said, do almost nothing. After all my hard work I expected the empire to burn with my schemes but no, it still stands like nothing happened. Same for Ulthuan, kislev and so on. It's... Pointless. When it comes to Daniel... As awful as he is, to say that they destroyed his narrative by letting you change the name... Very bad take. He sucks, his faction is awful, but the name thing is probably the only good thing out of it

    I recently played a legendary Daniel campaign, and besides his mechanics being a bit half baked, he felt extremely powerful. I would argue he is one of the most powerful nemesis crown wielders in the game, and can easily become an infinite magic generation mage. His faction getting teleport, bloodletting, seduction and plagues is also pretty powerful. I really just think his campaign being "the worst in the game" is just a bit of a skill issue.

    • @Grivehn
      @Grivehn 18 дней назад

      I also enjoyed him in SFO, where he gets a ton of character XP buffs.
      But powerful doesnt necessarily equals fun for everyone. If you look at Costin's other vid he mentioned at the start, he doesnt like to play Ikit for example either. Of course he will not like factions who are powerful, but lack mechanics and/or challenges like Daniel and Changeling.

      I like Daniel a lot too! I'd have a list of parts I'd use for the campaign map and ones I'd swap to just before a fight. The final upgrade for Nurgle devotion being +20 to lord rank is insane and pretty easy to get. Even if it is bugged to lords swapped into an army rather than initial recruitment. My only struggle was the slow recruitment speed.

    I have no idea why you don't like vampire coast so much. Thair army is a crossbreed between melee skaven and dwarven shooters and they are awesome and fun. And necrofex colossus is IMHO one of the best and easiest unit to use in the whole game. And in campaign they just roam the sea, pillage, plunder and gain infamy, as pirates should do.

    Legendary Lords really need Tier based bonus to units from the Get-Go. Rather than pigeon holing players, wasting their skill points, and mucking up the pacing.
    Imagine that Mazi had unique bonuses to units at Tier one and than every six levels, he innately unlocks new bonuses for units of that Tier?
    He is suddenly a lot more useful and resilient in the early game. And the player is encouraged to level him up and put even those few saved skill points into buffing himself or the overall competency of his army.

    I wish Cylostra went more into the bretonnian/ghost knights stuff. Really lean into the theme. She was a custom character made up by CA, they could have done pretty much whatever with her(as long as papa GW was ok with it) and they just didn't do much with it.

    Cylostra is one of my favorite Legendary Lords.
    In my experience Alith Anar was very easy to kill.
    Especially because he's right next to you so you fight him before he gets all of his power.
    Dark elves also seemed easy enough early on in the campaign.
    The worst challenge I found with her was by far Ostankya doing a full scale invasion around turn 100. Those were some of the worst fights especially with all her curses saved up.

  • @flipneleanor7370
    @flipneleanor7370 18 дней назад

    I agree with Cylo... but for different reasons. So the first thing is vampirates are FORCED to put a lot of points in the blue skill line. This means your "caster" LL will not be casting any spells outside of the 1 starting damage spell thats mediocre at best.
    She does have an INSANELY powerful aoe debuff skill with a cd and no charges, combine that with the physical resistance, the melee half of your army is going to dominate, it also slows enemies so your ranged units will also dominate.
    Later on she gets an OP mount so she's a beast in melee.
    But again it's a caster LL that wont be casting any spells until super late in the game. Terrible. Adding ghosts to the vampirates and a ghost legendary lord is super cool, I really enjoy the LL but the way you have to put all your points into the blue skill tree just make her so incredibly boring for most of the game.

  • @jasonquigley2633
    @jasonquigley2633 19 дней назад +1

    I think you're overly harsh on cylostra. She's arguably the most interesting vampire coast legendary lords. She has exclusive access to a ghost paladin and ghost Knight summon. Further, as vampire coast you can easily move to a different location, so the fact her starting position is bad isn't a big deal. Roaming the seas is the whole point of playing vampire coast, so I don't get why you're dumping on that.
    Finally she's the only legendary lord that casts lore of the deep.
    Otherwise, the criticisms of vampire coast is bang on.

    My recommendations: if you are planning to play any of these campaigns mod the game for each faction involved and play on easy or normal difficulty. Especially the difficulty, Costin just curious is this based on legendary balancing or lower difficulties, as that will skew things up in terms of how the negatives impact. But generally I'd recommend using mods at least until CA fixes things hell I'd recommend just using them after because the game is WAY more fun when it is modded, especially if you mod out features that don't make the game harder just more annoying and are multiplayer balancing ones for example I've always modded out regen cap and summon degradation the reason those were only implemented for multiplayer balancing and I've said it many times and I'll say it again fuck multiplayer in this game, I don't think its fun and you miss out on half of what makes total war fun. The battles are nice but they are secondary to campaign gameplay, I don't find it fun to fight battles without an actual stake if I'm fighting a battle in campaign winning or losing it could have a serious impact on the outcome of the campaign in multiplayer its functionally a skill contest where if you win you get nothing unless it is a competition with a cash prize and if you lose the only thing hurt is your ego and nothing else. Whereas in campaign the battles 100% matter as one victory or defeat can mean the differance between you becoming a massive hegemon or being a destroyed civilization in the game not to mention there aren't any restrictions as to what you can bring to a battle beyond your access to units for the armies in question and your income to support said units (Which honestly are joint at the hip because war is expensive)
    But yeah gist of this these campaigns need serious reworks, if you want to play them currently use mods and play on lower difficulties otherwise you won't have much fun. Also Norsca Rework is so needed its not even funny, they really have not been in a good place since Warhammer 1 and honestly if CA had actually been able to get them into game 2 without much issue they'd probably have fixed the majority of Norsca's problems by now, as it stands they are Warhammer 1 faction in Warhammer 3 that needs SO MANY reworks it isn't in funny and modding to play them is 100% mandatory if you aren't then you are playing with a joke of a faction that isn't really that fun. I recommend Guv's Better Norsca Mod, and a host of other mods to make Norsca fun.

      @@Grivehn Dully noted. I still stand by my opinion though if you want to play any of these factions do so with mods and on a lower difficulty. But especially the former, if CA hasn't fixed a problem use a mod to fix it until they do and even then keep the mod handy.
