This is a very concise and intelligent way of presenting blues ("soul") scales. The concept of getting to this through the pentatonic really makes so much sense.
Oh man so good! I was doing great this year learning and I just broke my clavicle. This is great inspiration for me to keep learning. Left hand piano LOL
I just discovered this channel. Holy... the ideas presented here are gorgeous and you aren't saturating us with information and jargon and giving us very digestible information that can be manipulated. I love it. I have subbed and hoping to catch all your content from now on :) !!
Been digging around stuff to practice with s-sax, it has been some what hard to find. These are all great!! Thank You for making these videos and files available!
I have played alto and tenor in my youth and now later begun again with sopr. Now I am still developing and struggling my embouchure and found it much harder to produce acceptable tone with soprano than those lower horns. Many of the etudes and pieces for tenor seem to soon climb to those high notes I still cannot tolerably make with soprano. Here I found it really useful to hear You actually play the examples in a playable range with a healthy and good soprano sound. Something to really reach to.
I'm sure this is mentioned in other videos, but a great way to think of the 'soul' scale is as 'relative minor' blues scale. So to play C 'soul', simply play A blues.
muy bueno su canal quisiera consultarle que programa usa para hacer sus videos? para el efecto escritura y la muestra de pentagramas y partituras? un abrazo
Thank you Sir for your time. Great exe! Can you please suggest some non or method (sax) focus on this kind of exercise , scale and mechanics ? Thank you
I just would like to say that the soprano voice in all your videos is n° 1 in my list of the most beautiful melodic thing I've ever heard (no exageration..) ; (feel a little guilty towards Brandford Marsalis in saying this anyway :)
Tomek Turn your treble clef score upside down. Now it reads in bass clef. But really, listen to the figure and hear the added 3rds or 7ths. You can do that without a score, no? Start your every day pentatonic scale anywhere you want and add the "other" third/seventh etc. You can do that, bass player guy. We're countin' on ya'..☺
Hey, great videos! But I have one thing to say: The loudness difference between instruments and your voice is waaaay to big. I prefer using headphones for content like this and am turning the volume up and down all the time.. I'd be super happy if you fixed this 😃

Desearía que estuviera traducido al español 😞😞😩
Great concept! Where did you come up with it from?
Thumb up from a bass player... would you write them for bass clef pls?

Here in the comment box are the links to buy them, We hope you don't want them for free too.
@@musiccampwithlumpyandlisa9025 WHAT? can explain, pls
Hi there, just got your beginner blues sax,I can't see the above ideas in a book.
Hiiiiiii, i would like to know if there is any method that i can download a book likle this
Ce serait bien d'avoir des exemples dans les morceaux. Peut-on improviser de manière aussi systématique ?
Cool!
Fun!
Any chance you could make your voice louder and the musical examples 25% quieter on your videos?
What's with comments like these? On behalf of this friendly RUclipsr let me say: Make your own video with 25% quieter musical examples.
@@danielhutchinson7073 Daniel, just shut up and let the adults talk please.

Nice.
"Soul Scale" happened to be a Mixolydian Scale. Major Scale but add a b7.
The mixolydian contains scale degree 4- the 'Soul Scales' in this video do not contain this important note.... but in part2 it is added
The Black Circle
I like that soprano
OK !!!
So, "Soul Pentatonic" is major blues (aka country) scale without the major 2?
Do you have this material in LilyPond, musicMl, sibelius, finale etc?
I'm totally blind, pdfs aren't very accessible for me... Thanks. :)
jazzduets.com/collections/exercises/products/soul-scale-exercises-pdf-booklet-download
Is there any chance to get tabs for the exercises.or slow demonstration on guitar. That would help alot. Thanks ronen from Israel

I'm enjoying these video lessons but the musical examples are three times louder than the speech parts!

Probably a dumb question. Could this be applied to guitar too?? 🤔
