Man I am halfway to the second checkpoint in Div 2 and its hell. Man, even Div 4 & 3 were hell. The amount of BS going on there. If you play Squad Battles inbetween everything works, crosses and passes go to their intended targets but as soon you enter Rivals you have barely any control in higher divisions. 99 Pele and 98 Gullit playing like Bronze cards. Then you make a new team with high rated fodder and suddenly you win again. Its like the game is working actively against you, moreso if you F2P like me.
