Major Frank fan here, just wanted to add my opinion. A lot of people have been mentioning that beyond the Homer stuff Frank has been notoriously bad with merch drops: orders not being sent and not refunding people etc. I also saw a few people mentioning his irl interactions with fans not being great. I don’t really think that he’s changed or fallen victim to fame, he’s always been like this. Frank has always viewed himself as an artist, he shies away from “fame” and has made clear several times that his fans don’t know him. For years music was his outlet for art, I think that now he’s channeling some of that energy into fashion, in the same way that he constructed these beautiful albums that strive to capture emotions and give the listener a look into his soul, he is now doing that through jewelry. In other words he’s always been into the avant-garde art stuff, I don’t think that the pricing is about money for him, I think that he values the exclusivity, he may feel that whoever is willing to spend so much money on his designs connect with him in a similar way to those who listen to his music. I don’t think he’s turned on his fans or anything, we were never his primary focus the art was. I think he values listeners who enjoy his music the same way he appreciates those who like his jewelry they’re both privy to this part of his soul and they both see something in him that moves them. Frank has made every effort to not be viewed as a traditional celebrity, he hardly ever does interviews, he doesn’t communicate much with the public at all, and he very literally hides from the public eye. All of the issues with merch etc. have been bad, but I think much of the other complaints are born of the difference in what people expect of him as a “celebrity” vs what he sees himself as. Here's a take I haven't seen yet -- I think Frank really really wants to have stuff that appeals to the gay community and to the wealthy community simultaneously. I feel like he has some agenda there (especially with the explicit promo ads). And it's a really fucking weird intersection of bullshit. If you listen to the latest stuff, and the fact that a lot of the vinyls and unreleased stuff directly reference the gay club scene and how prominent sexuality is part of his canon of work, this drop really screamed to me that it's luxury stuff but DEFINITELY NOT for the masses and it's intentional. This isn't really about the product itself, it's a 5D marketing ploy to build and reinforce Frank's brand/image/mystique and of course, generate buzz around him/Homer. I seriously doubt this was created with any intent to sell for profit other than off a tiny handful of rich hypebeasts with no taste. Major Frank fan here, just wanted to add my opinion. A lot of people have been mentioning that beyond the Homer stuff Frank has been notoriously bad with merch drops: orders not being sent and not refunding people etc. I also saw a few people mentioning his irl interactions with fans not being great. I don’t really think that he’s changed or fallen victim to fame, he’s always been like this. Frank has always viewed himself as an artist, he shies away from “fame” and has made clear several times that his fans don’t know him. For years music was his outlet for art, I think that now he’s channeling some of that energy into fashion, in the same way that he constructed these beautiful albums that strive to capture emotions and give the listener a look into his soul, he is now doing that through jewelry. In other words he’s always been into the avant-garde art stuff, I don’t think that the pricing is about money for him, I think that he values the exclusivity, he may feel that whoever is willing to spend so much money on his designs connect with him in a similar way to those who listen to his music.
I don’t think he’s turned on his fans or anything, we were never his primary focus the art was. I think he values listeners who enjoy his music the same way he appreciates those who like his jewelry they’re both privy to this part of his soul and they both see something in him that moves them. Frank has made every effort to not be viewed as a traditional celebrity, he hardly ever does interviews, he doesn’t communicate much with the public at all, and he very literally hides from the public eye. All of the issues with merch etc. have been bad, but I think much of the other complaints are born of the difference in what people expect of him as a “celebrity” vs what he sees himself as.

I’ve always been a patient fan because you shouldn’t rush someone else’s creative process and I feel even stronger about that since his brother tragically died during the pandemic. Frank more than deserves to do what he wants, heal on his own terms and take all the time he needs. I think making such emotionally vulnerable music can be painful for artists at times so it’s understandable that he would rather open and run a high fashion line than release music that he isn’t ready for the world to hear yet.
