Healthy feet and bum cheeks - what more could a long distance walker ask for 😊 That was some wear and tear with the trail shoes. A pretty good looking food restock. The falls were stunning and the walk down the glen looked cool. A great effort in getting to the bothy👍😊
Days 5 and 6 were certainly adventurous and a good test of the resilience. Trail shoes are certainly great for comfort but those rocky paths test their durability. Still better than wet heavy boots though! Looks like you were well catered for with the food parcel though. Well done on completing another tough 2 days. I did my first wild camp at the weekend, so one step closer to my own backpacking trip. Having said that, I need to work on the upper body strength first 🙈

Another great one! My plans for the CWT this fall are getting more concrete by the day. I will be 65 in September, we'll connect to my first stretch at Cluanie Inn and just see where we are a week later. Your videos will be a great help (as motivation they already are)!
😀😀 The fighter jets - unless you've actually been in that situation you don't really understand, but as you say, you don't hear them coming. I remember being near Achnasheen a few years back, and one went flying passed, I nearly pooped my pants 😀
Re-watching your old vids has kept me going through lockdown when I can't get out myself, it really helps to get that "outdoors fix" 😂 Are bothies open again? I wasn't sure what the latest guidance was and it'd be handy to know before I get out myself if like your vids suggest, they are open?
Hi mate, bothies are open. However we're asked not to stay in them as they can't control numbers of different households. I've heard some news bothies will be officially open later this month. 🤞🏻
Good one Robin. Your kit is falling apart 😬. Shoes and walking pole. Can't beat boots but that's just me. That's why I was talking about carrying a spare tent pole with the Stratospire 1 I had incase a walking pole got damaged. But the chances of that happening are small. Looks a good walk and will put it on my long list of long trail hikes. 😁. Really enjoyed watching Robin. Great editing. Atb Steve 👍🇬🇧
Cheers Stevo. 😁 Boots certainly last longer. But you can't beat the free movement in shoes. Yeah that's me damaged 2 poles whilst having shelters that need 2 poles to erect. Hope it's not third time unlucky. 🙈
Nice video (thanks). Did you ever try to bend the hiking pole back once you got the replacement, in order to see if it would have been ok (for the next time)? I actually had a similar situation with bent aluminum hiking poles and I slowly bent it back and it was fine (the poles are still with me). However, my poles are 7075 Aluminum (the strongest) and my older poles which had 7070 Aluminum (which are weaker) may not have made it.
Loving it Robin, how kind the weathers been so far. I can't believe the state of your shoes ....gaffer tap would have been a god send to patch them up for a time. With lock down and so many people keen to get out and about have you seen many people on the trail ? ATB 👍🏔
Cheers Dave, the weather was really kind to us for the first half. 😁 We got on the trail as early as possible to avoid the crowds and we didn't meet many people on the trail.
Hi Robin, planning on doing the Cape Wrath trail in July or August in reverse. I have recently got myself a Tartent Notch and wondered how it was working out for you on the Trail? Kindest regards, Ant...
Hi Ant, the Notch is working out really well so far. Easy to pitch, doesn't flap and the double vestibules make up for the lack of floor space in the tent. But it still offers loads of head room for sitting up. Minor niggles, inner ties are fiddly and if its wet, you can water drop off into the tent when the flysheet door is rolled up.
I was laughing at you pointing out the stalkers hut John and Moss stayed in, he wont be the first or last when that river roars, keep up the vid's looking good. What was the price of those bloody trail runners ?? lol.
John's CWT series is excellent, I binge watched them all. That hut is a potential life saver! Erm those shoes were £120, thankfully I got the replacements in the sale. 🙈
Doing well, that was a big day, hope you manage to recover overnight. What fingerless gloves are those? look like they have some grip protection for poles.

@@martynjames5455 I'll have a chat with the independent shop in Edinburgh (Run and Become). See what they've got as I'll need a new pair soon.
Been waiting for this installment just like the previous ones👍. Wounded for the bent walking pole, that make ain't cheap m8.Your pal is a real card and a cool walking buddy. I was tad concerned about your trail shoes dude, they looked goosed when you showed us the state of 'em and I didn't think that they would last the day. Anyway thanks again Roberto, great stuff👍🙏
Cheers Frazo 😁
Those shoes have got to last another 2 days by the way. 😆
Iain is a good lad, I've known him for a good few years, loads of bagging Munros and Corbetts together.
Loving the vids Robin. Scenery so far has been Stunning 😉 Crikey, those paks your carrying must have been feeling mighty heavy by now... and not half way yet ! Top effort u 2 👍👍
Cheers Moses. 😁
The packs got a bit lighter, but the resupplies was a shock to the system. 😅
Another great one! My plans for the CWT this fall are getting more concrete by the day. I will be 65 in September, we'll connect to my first stretch at Cluanie Inn and just see where we are a week later. Your videos will be a great help (as motivation they already are)!
Fantastic mate, you'll need to let me know how you get on afterwards. 😁 👍🏻
😀😀 The fighter jets - unless you've actually been in that situation you don't really understand, but as you say, you don't hear them coming. I remember being near Achnasheen a few years back, and one went flying passed, I nearly pooped my pants 😀
Haha, exactly zero warning. Shame I wasn't filming as it happened, our faces would have been funny. 😆
Like you, I tend to destroy poles... Why I usually have a non matching set.
Haha, aye that's me got 1 Black Diamond and a Leki now. 😁
Boots certainly last longer. But you can't beat the free movement in shoes. Yeah that's me damaged 2 poles whilst having shelters that need 2 poles to erect. Hope it's not third time unlucky. 🙈
Looks like you had plenty of free movement in those shoes 🤣😂. Atb Steve 👍
enjoyed that. Excellent video……….
Cheers mate, appreciate it as always. 😁 👍🏻
loving the adventure! stunning place..ATB WJ
Cheers WJ. 😁 👍🏻
How come not boots with ankle support? Great trails and videos!
Cheers Dave, there's pros and cons to both, but I find boots a bit restrictive and like the free moment you get in shoes.
Hey Dano. I managed to bend it so far, so the pole was still usable but ended up buying a replacement section so the pole is back to normal again.
Those views look amazing man 😍
Cheers D&B. 😁 👍🏻
Loving it Robin, how kind the weathers been so far. I can't believe the state of your shoes ....gaffer tap would have been a god send to patch them up for a time.
With lock down and so many people keen to get out and about have you seen many people on the trail ?
ATB
👍🏔
Cheers Dave, the weather was really kind to us for the first half. 😁
We got on the trail as early as possible to avoid the crowds and we didn't meet many people on the trail.
Was that a gas bottle resupply I spied at Kintail Crafts? Really enjoying this series and you're showing the scenery very nicely too. Well done!
Thanks Morgs and yes Kintail Crafts sell gas, much to Iain's relief. 😁 👍🏻
Hi Robin, planning on doing the Cape Wrath trail in July or August in reverse.
I have recently got myself a Tartent Notch and wondered how it was working out for you on the Trail?
Kindest regards,
Ant...
32km on day 6! Wow! That's a biggie. Your trail shoes looked gubbed! Where they new? Cheers again. New subscriber 😏👌. Paul
Haha, cheers new subscriber. 😁
The shoes had around 100 miles on them, shouldn't have wore out that quickly. 🤔
@@WalkWithWallace what kind are they Robin? I know I have asked before but I'm getting old...lol.
@@PAADVENTURES1 Saucony Peregrine ISO. 👟 👍🏻
@@WalkWithWallace Best of luck on the walk and I hated those falls, pants went a lil brown when I first them
Doing well, that was a big day, hope you manage to recover overnight. What fingerless gloves are those? look like they have some grip protection for poles.
Cheers Bob, the gloves are great. If you Google 'fruugo fingerless sun gloves', you'll see the white glacier gloves I used, around £14.
@@WalkWithWallace Thanks Robin, how do they fit, I seem to be between a L and XL
Your walking pole sacrificed itself to save your ankle! Could have been a bad end to your trip.
Definitely the boulder was heading towards my ankle, got out of the way just in time. 👀
Robin your pole and shoes lost the will to live, they just could’na take being seen walking with that shorts/tights combo anymore. Who can blame them😉
🤣🤣🤣
Haha, 'a Tortuls heed to attend to', translation for international viewers?
Haha 😂 turtles head is a 💩

Ah no premiere this time? 🤓
Ha yes, I didn't want to kick the arse out of the Premieres. Maybe next week. 😁
