Ms. Mayra, good evening, how are you? I'm in the process of starting my own Daycare, I'm super excited. Question. Where do you shop for all your materials?
Omg congrats! It's all about advertising. Make sure you get on your local Facebook groups and advertise. It also helps to get in contact with other local providers. Put yourself out there and let them know you're opening up soon. Most of the time you can get a couple referrals from other providers that are at full capacity. Make flyers and post around your neighborhood, if permitted. If possible, carry around business cards. You never know in what situation you might meet a potential family. But mostly, have patience! It takes time but you'll get to your full capacity :) best of luck to you on this new journey!
Good for you!I have the same amount of space you’re planning to use which is also my family space. It can be frustrating at times but you will get used to it.
Thanks for sharing this tour, so beautiful! Have you shared a tour of your daycare yet? Just to add on your great advice, Drop of a flyer with tearable tabs at the park, churches anywhere that families visit often! Good luck
Thank you!! I’m starting mine and I have I have a small space. My living room and dining room only at the moment. So I have to find ways to make it work.
Hi! My mom will be running a daycare soon and I got so happy! I just wanted to see the features of a daycare since I forgot what mines looked like because I havent been there for the past 11 years.
Thank you for the information..you beautifully explained ❤ Please let me know what documents we need and to whom we need to contact to start family day care in Sydney
Thank you so much for this video l have little space in my house and am thinking how to decorate it to suit the children to start my homebased childcare too so much too learn but your video gave me ideas . Thank you.
Nice video. If you want to wipe down the small red table you have in the kitchen. You can use hand sanitizer. It will take the marks away. I do that for my home daycare furniture.
I’m going to start one soon and this is the first video I clicked on! I was like “okay if I’m doing a daycare at home I’m not necessarily teaching them specific things so what do I do” so this was very helpful. Do you get more things as you get more children? What do you do for snack time? Is there anything you do that other people don’t? Is there anything you don’t do that other people do? How did you decide how much you’d charge?
Thank you so much for watching my video! I wish you the best of luck on your new journey! For me personally, it has changed a bit since I filmed this video. You never want to burn yourself out.. there's nothing kids enjoy more than playing. It can be as simple as marking some circles on the groud with chalk and having them jump on them while counting. So don't stress about trying to plan out every single hour of your day. That is the first mistake I did. I know for some it works well, for me it didn't. It just put more pressure on me throughout the day. Kids will be in the mood for activities one day and the next they won't. Don't feel discouraged about it. They're kids. For snack I always try to go for fruits and veggies that are in season. On Fridays I let the kids decide between not so "healthy" options like fruit snacks or popcorn ( for the older kids) it really just depends what makes your life easier 😅 I don't provide transportation to school and back, that is something others providers in my area do provide. I also stay below capacity so I can insure I can give equal attention to all my kids enrolled. I don't have an assistant. It can get a bit overwhelming. As for pricing, I suggest calling other providers in your area and finding a good middle ground based on that. Keep in mind you might need to adjust once you've been in business for a couple months you'll see how your expenses work out every month. One last thing, the parents are the hardesr part of the job. Come up with a strong Handbook and stick to your policies! The first year can be tough. Don't feel discouraged, you got this! 💪 I hope this way helpful!
@@MayraMartinezxo thank you so much. This was very helpful. A lot I wasn’t even thinking about at the moment lol I appreciate you for reading and responding so thanks again ☺️
I was looking for some daycare tours to use as reference for the daycare that I'm creating in the Sims 4, and suddenly I want to open my own daycare haha
I love your cubbies and your playroom, everything looks so great.I have the IKEA pot set too! Next on the list is the the sensory table lol How many littles are you licensed for?
Hi Mayra, thank you so much for this video. I am considering starting my own daycare but completely clueless on where to begin. Do you need a license in order to have a home based daycare?
Thank you for watching! 😊 It really depends where you live. I live in California where a license is required but in some states like Texas or Florida they have different "tiers" where one would just need to be registered. Check out your states website just to be sure 😊
Hi Myra, thank you for your videos, wanted to know how long did it take you to have children enroll In your daycare, I have been open for 1.5 now but I cannot seem to get children enrolled. Thanks
Hey Ruth, I hope everything is going great at your daycare. Have you tried promoting on social media channels, adding yourself to Google Business Profile and dropping off flyers in your community?
Hello i wanted to know what all requirements and licensing do i need to convert my garage into a daycare?? I would love to know where to start!! If you dont mind
Your daycare looks beautiful!! I really love the childrens cubbies you purchased on offer up that’s an amazing deal!! I also thought it would have been nice to maybe see all those cool charts you posted at a child’s eye level.. it’ll help them learn & recognize numbers & letters faster 😇
In the state of California you are still allowed to operate without your landlords permission but you have to stay under capacity. Meaning you would only be allowed to care for 6 kids at once. I hope this was helpful! 🙂
I know it's old but, please allow this invite to subscribe and follow Precious moments childcare, so the little ones can learn together. It's for all ages

Your space is cute. You have enough space for art display board. Your personal use area . is not appropriate for a place to display children artwork.
